Ty my friend, I'm kinda new (in being efficient) so nice video. I saw it yesterday night smoking a joint and I didn't remember so much. I took notes so I can remember it. Greetings from Spain
Incredible video. I've learned a lot, some tricks and stuff. You could also prepare a video about the construction of the Sultan's mosque. I know it takes a lot of preparation but if you do it you already have someone who would see it. The truth is I really like this game and despite playing it for years I am not able to do something similar to what you did. GG
Hey, thanks for the nice comment. Glad I could help with something. It is a really good game, I keep coming back to it at least once a year as well, although I'm playing a lot of 2205 at the moment, which is also nice but just not the same as 1404. About the mosque: I have a plan for the Diplomat-Scenario, it's just that my recorded tries back then are very (very) bad and I'm somewhat short on time at the moment. I'll hopefully have some spare time in April, maybe I will come back to it.
Thank you man, this strategy city planning really work even on medium ai. Still i can't get over some ai since i bad at micro manage. But still, this surely help me a lot and save me from getting out of money quick
Hey, thanks for the comment. Thankfully you can always slow the game down in crucial moments. That normally helps with harder ai. Although I really am not that kind of Anno player. I still need to do the harder scenarios, once I find the time for them...
If the hard AI is making it difficult for you to play the game, you could cheese it a bit by settling all spice islands before the NPCs do that and thus prevent the NPCs from getting spice and therefore evolve to Patrician ranks. You basically prevent the NPCs from producing military and large ships and thus gain a natural advantage over the NPC on the long run as they can only build small ships then. Note, it is probably best to save the game initially, buy all wood and tools from Northburgh you can buy, settle on the first island and establish a decent wood porduction to build as many peasant houses as possible as well as a couple of fishing huts (over time). Go back to Northburgh and buy wood/tools and the rep scroll and save again. Try to locate Al Zahir and all island with spice on it. Reload the game and send your ship directly to Al Zahir to unlock a second ship and the rights to settle on the oriental islands. Now it is just a matter of slowing down the game to run for the islands that contain spice on them and while the ships are heading for those islands expand your city by building more huts and further stuff. Note: You need to block the shores of those islands by placing a market place so that the radius of it overlaps the shore. As this is quite costly, you need to expand your people on the occident island as much as possible. You also need to buy all the tools you can get by either direct trade with your 2 ships from Northburgh and Al Zahir and by passive trade by listing those item at the harbor of each island. Once you blocked the NPCs access to those spice islands, you basically have won as they can't progress further than citizen tier. This is extremely helpful if you're after the achievement for killing hard AI after 3 hours of ingame playtime (needed i.e. to unlock the golden ship). By saving right before one of those NPCs leaves the maps, you can basically just reload afterwards like 10 times to unlock that achievement. Spares you from spending hundreds of hours to do it "the hard way" over and over again.
@@SKEITH0_0 if you do that you can also play against weak enemy. .. the AI does not know to use seeds. what is the oint of taking all land away if you play against an AI.. xD then play against no one. and just build
Probably because I'm getting old... :D When things go to fast, I tend to forget to do stuff, especially when I have 4 pages of notes by my side and have to count. Counting is hard! ;D Obviously the faster You can go without doing mistakes, the less time it will take. In my opinion one could easily knock of at least an hour of my time, probably more. I wish You all the best for Your speedrunning career. It is a lot of fun to plan, adjust and finally suceed.
Hey, sorry for the late response, I was really busy the last weeks. It isn't necessary to build the sultans mosque for this scenario. It gets somewhat harder if you want to cater to envoys as well.
Arent envoys required for getting nobles? Also for me, without more envoys i cant have more patricians. am i playing a different game mode or is there difference between venice and base game?
Hey, thanks for reaching out and watching my video. Venice should just add some events, ships, visual buildings like parks and the venice trading port. It doesn't mess with production chains or upgrade conditions of the base game iirc. And no, at least in this scenario you never actually need envoys. For everything nobles request they give you the appropiate building plans. Be wary that in any given constellation not every peasant can become a citizen, not every citizen can become a patrician and not every patrician can be a nobleman. I used an online calclulator to find the number of peasent houses needed for exactly 5000 noblemen. I reckon maybe you dont have enough lower level inhabitants to grant enough upgrade rights for the inhabitants to "jump" to the next level, this could be bypassed by envoys, but that's not really feasible on a higher scale imho. Somehow I can't find the online pop calculator anymore, sorry. Seems like it was removed. Also only a specific amount of pops can live in a house (and those differ as well). You can calculate them here: www.anno1404-rechner.de Calculating the upgrade thresholds in Anno1404 is not that easy. The rules are explained pretty good in this wiki: anno1404.fandom.com/wiki/Population under 2. Maybe research a little and if You need further help just let me know. I know it took me some time to figure the exact numbers out. Have fund and enjoy the game
Well...... not gonna lie, you had me look through my old notes for this because I don't remember why I did that, especially because it looks pretty dumb. I did search a bit for the notes though :D And there on the notes it says pretty clearly: 'Build 12 apiaries on island 6 and establish trade route' and that's it! So basically... well... i think I jumped to another (wrong) line on my notes. Got distracted by something else (maybe norias asking for water). Got to the right line in the notes. Saw that I f***ed up by building the hemp and the norias and then tried to eradicate the evidence of me being dumb... ;D Meh, it's on camera. Nothing I can do about it. But thanks for watching anyway. I think that's not the only case of ?WTF? you might have noticed...
I just restarted this after an install, got a really bad starting island. But my opponent (the nun) was also quite expansive from the start - even though I wasn't too slow, she grabbed the best Oriental and Occidental islands. Basically Leif didn't do anything Oriental in your game before you scouted him?
Hey, the moment you upgrade your first peasant to a citizen you can buy the ship from Northburgh. Everything you do before doesn't matter in terms of opponents doing anything. So basically what I did was develop my main island in peace. The moment you get the first citizen the NPC will start developing beyond that as well. An important thing to notice is that the oppenent won't try to conquer islands which are already claimed by you. At least that's what I figured out when I was testing things out for the video. The following steps should work almost always: 1) Upgrade your first peasant to citizen when you feel ready on your main island 2) Get your ship from Northburgh asap 3) Buy all the resources from Northburgh for building as many warehouses on different islands as you can 4) Go get them isles! Just sail to some different isles and 'claim' them by building a warehouse. Put the ressources back on the ship and then resume to the next island. The oppenent should then ignore those islands (the ones you already built a warehouse on). I hope that helps and I wish you a lot of fun playing this awesome game.
German's not that hard :D. Where also can you have such beautiful words like 'Fingerspitzengefühl' (a word that describes to handle a subject or an action with higher sensibility) :D. Hey, I really don't know, I just started at random and took the best I got... Didn't even know you can choose seeds. I'll reinstall the game, test a little, come back and edit this comment about what i find out, hang on...
Hey, I think I may be somewhat smarter now, although I'm still not really sure. I spent the last 3 hours resetting and trying different things. At first I really couldn't get my original seed. I took a screenshot of the map layout 3 years ago when preparing for the video, so i knew what i was searching for. But after like 40 resets I didn't get it even once, only the same two different (bad) seeds all the time. Then i tried to switch things up like changing the pc date or restarting the whole game everytime, but to no apparent avail. I created a new profile and booted up the scenario and voila: the seed! (for the reference, the seed-number is: 40308). Then I did some more resets and it stopped completely again. After ten more resets on the new account without luck, I stopped and changed to my main. Tried again for 10 times, still nothing. The moment i switched back to the new account and loaded the level, I got the seed again! So I tried switching back and forth and got the seed almost everytime (8/10) on the new account. It seems like the seed is somewhat of a "beginner" seed which only loads in if you're playing "Master Builder" the first time after switching to an account that hasn't already won the scenario. Maybe I'm imagining things, but to me it really seems to be like that. And one other, maby important thing: I was completely unable to get the right seed on a different player color than yellow. I don't know if that has anything to do with that. I hope you're lucky and get this or at least a similar seed. Best of luck and keep me posted if something works.
@@kobra512 thank you, you didn't need to do all this but it's probably like we you load and you pray but in either cases at least we know answer. And for this here is sub
