Very helpful video. I was just wondering if it was possible to pick a color/tone from the reference image. I thought you were going to mention something along those lines, but I'll try it on my own anyway. If not possible, it would make a nice future addition to Lightroom.
Hey Ignacia! If you click the color dropper tool in the color overlay selector, and click+drag off the image onto your reference image without letting go of your mouse, that should do it! This seems to work for some ppl and not others though - might be limited to new versions of Lr?
Hi Alejandro! It really depends... PS is great for complex work on ONE image at a time... LR was made for editing LOTS of images quickly... So if you only have one image to edit, PS will have more options and power. But it's also waaaay slower so for most photoshoots it's not practical to just use PS. Granted Adobe Camera Raw now has pretty much everything LR does too and that is available inside PS
Coo!!! I wish this was added to free version... Anyways i wanted to ask you what would be the export settings for a quality photo to upload on instagram. I saw tons of videos people say different things..some say set image quality to 76 some say 100..some say det long side to 1080 some 1600 & other says 1350
Glad it was helpful! Honestly with Insta it changes as they change their software so the answer might be different a month from now. I personally just upload a high quality one and don't think too much about it. Haha sorry I'm not more helpful there! Feel free to test both and see which you prefer. If you find the answer let me know.
I personally went full length and did a comparison side by side with a photo exported both with 76% and 100% quality and also tried 1080X1350 vs original resolution of image (cropped to 4X5) , and to me it doesn`t seem to make any noticealbe difference. I think what matters most is the original quality of photo influenced by model of camera and lenses used (sharpness , contrast).
@@aandrei3155 Thanks so much for sharing this! My experience has been more or less the same - Yes, there might be a small difference in the way the photo appears with your export settings, but the bigger factor is ALWAYS if the original photo was good to begin with haha. Cheers mate!
Holy crap, this might have done wonders in removing sunburns in Lightroom. I tried in photoshop and basically gave up and turned the photo black and white.
Please consider getting rid of click bait useless titles. If I want to search this in the future what am I supposed to write? Also, great videos. Thank you!
Haha yes I totally agree... The only problem is that if I make the title more literal, youtube's search doesn't show it to ANYONE... Sad but that's life. Glad the vid was helpful for you :)
@@SignatureEdits Perhaps just post that feature at the start of your presentations. And if you want to slow down a video, use the “Shift & period” keys.
Go to photoshop-camera raw filter-change hair color-ok-click mask icon-crtl+l to invert the mask-take the brush with black color-brush the hair...that is easy hhhhhh
Haha yep that would work too! Always many different ways to do something and some much faster than others :) As a LR user who is typically frustrated every time I try to do anything in PS, this tutorial is more about how to do it in only LR and what is possible if you don't have PS, not necessarily the best or fastest way!
Masking the reverse and correcting the skin back was a twist I didn't expect. Clever!
Thanks!
Thank you Ryan! I learn something cool and new every time I watch your video. Love your voice too!

RIGHT?!
can you do a tutorial about the new color grading in lightroom v10?
Interesting request... What new color grading are you talking about exactly?
@@SignatureEdits there is a new update on lightroom where the split toning panel is replaced with a new “color grading” panel
Thanks for all your tutorials!
They really help a lot :)
For a more deep color grading is it better photoshop then?

Hi Ryan, your website won't load the Free Raw Photos for me. All the other images on your website load, except that tab. Please help.
Hi Henry! Sorry about that - Some tech stuff went wrong with the code. It is back up and running now!

Great idea Paul, I hadn't thought of that! Haha I feel your pain - When I can't get something looking nice in color, B&W is the failsafe
forgot to show the fine adjustment button
Is it me or your speech flows remind Bob Ross?
Hahaha that is literally the greatest compliment anyone has ever given me :)
thank you! This helped me from a hellhole Ive been in! Yay!

I heard your video " very fast ". but your movie is normal ! WHY?
Hmm not sure what you mean. But you can slow down playback using the SHIFT < keys on your keyboard! S
