      Thanks for posting with the time stamps. Very helpful for jumping between two pedals to make a comparison. This just confirmed that I have no need to change from the Flint I've had for about 6 years.

      I liked the Keeley best, then the Flint, then the Jam pedals = all great. MXR (worst) dulls the tone. BYOC no volume adjustment is a no-go. Walrus preserved the tone but it had the most subtle effect. Great comparison. I did this in NYC, before I bought my Diamond Tremolo.

    I chose the Walrus Monument, its American made less expensive than the HM and sounds great. The Monument is very flexible and has a lot to offer. These harmonic trem peddles take some tweaking ... be ready to spend some time working with them to find the sweet spot. As for the lightness of the WM that's what I like about it... its the subtleties man !

    Excellent shootout as usual , and thank you! I had the Walrus and thought it was way to light sounding. Almost couldn't tell it was on sometimes, even with the depth all the way up. I have and love the Supro but the swoosh noise is there. I'm somewhat of a an analog guy so noise (to a certain degree) is no big. Although, I'm digging on the Jam, Flint, and the Hydra surprised me.

    I have a ’62 brown Pro. The pedal that sounded most like my amp’s tremolo was the mxr, which surprised me. All of them sounded good, though. I’d love to hear this pedal comparison through an amp like mine so that these tones can easily be compared to the real thing.

      Yea, should have had them covered the entire time, but hard to keep everything straight when you're dealing with setting up 6 pedals :D

  • @Sparky6string

    They are all quite good. Quite a bit of variation in the end sound though of course. Some sound more reverb-y, others more chorus-y, and this would correspond to the personal visions and definitions on the theme according to the maker brought about by changes in component value and/or circuit.

    The Monk takes it just in front of the flint.(Enter the guitar cliches) It's just very rich and natural sound, it's got the most depth and high fidelity without mushing out. It feels like the the orginal signal thins out somewhat with the rest, but nothing seem lost with the Monk. Very impressive sounding pedal.

    I have the MXR and I do like the different modes, as well as the simplicity and the envelope feature but it does suck a bit of the high end out of my strat on any of the modes.

    Such good content! My only gripe is that you demo the 3 pedals I’m considering just not in any one video. Lol
    Between the MXR, Monk, and Supro, which gets the closest to a univibe/Leslie SRV type throbby sound?
    I’m jonesing pretty hard for a harmonic trem but I would really love it to be able to hit that mark too if possible!

    BYOC and Jam have the most authentic, honest and natural sound.
    Flint is good, but too sterile for me.
    The rest of the pedals sound with shades of wah, phaser or vibe.

  • @michael_caz_nyc

    It's not a Harmonic Tremolo (but) Trust-me . . . You've gotta try the Diamond Analog Optical Tremolo - thick, soupy, vintage Fender-like tremolo (even better actually). It has all the functionality with: note-divisions, different-waveforms, tap tempo, random/chaos, momentary, double-time and clean-boost. oNe LovE from NYC

    It sounds to me like the mxr has very weak transients. Is it just the timing? It sounds very mellow but also very indirect.

    • @TriPedalReviews
      @TriPedalReviews  ปีที่แล้ว

      It cuts a lot of high end, which rounds out the sound.

    So after all the testing you did in the several shootout videos you've made what is your conclusion. Which trem reigns supreme!?

    • @TriPedalReviews
      @TriPedalReviews  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No trem reigns supreme. Just depends on what you want in a harmonic Trem. I personally like ones that are more on the "effecty" side, which would be the Twin Peaks, Supro and Harmonious Monk. I think the Sunflower is less of that, but it has a clarity that I love so that is also in my top ones. Source Audio Ultrawave is also up there.

  • @user-ry4dd5jr1x

    #1 Monk if you want the most flexible great sound, #2 byoc if you want great sound on the cheap, and #3 flint if you want great sound and the flexibility of reverb. Thanks for the demo!

  • @mattgilbert7347

    I like my Keeley Dynatrem and Source Audio Vertigo. The Fender Tre Verb is basically a Flint clone and it sounds amazing in stereo with plate reverb..
    The Monk takes this. I also liked the MXR, Monument and Flint.

  • @fullpedalalchemist
    @fullpedalalchemist 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    It’s a toss up between BYOC and Keeley for me! I think the Brownface sounds a bit better overall with its wider sweep, but stereo panning and the reverb combo on Hydra would probably take the W. I do wish it had wave-shaping options tho! Literally my only complaint

    • @jaxfam7036
      @jaxfam7036 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have the Hydra so I'm a bit biased but it is a really great pedal. The stereo options are really useful. I have been use both the panning and trem just on one channel with the same pedal. I do agree that Hydra really needs wave shaping options. And more presets! Too many sounds are my favorite to limit to just 4 presets!

  • @mattcampbell5941

    Hydra for me. But the brown face was phukking good.. Really good. Just not as versatile. It does one thing really good. The Hydra does it for me. MXR was surprisingly very pleasant and organic. Stymon is highly over rated in my opinion. Especially the price.

      I'm currently A/B/C-ing the Hydra, Flint, and Fender Tre-Verb.
      Personally, I don't really like any of the reverbs in the Hydra, but the Hydra's true stereo panning is incredible through a stereo rig.
      The Fender has the best spring reverb but doesn't pan the trem... just adds trem equally to both L & R channels.
      The Flint has nice trem (not stereo-panned) and nice reverb if the color (tone) is dialed all the way down.
      Despite having the worst reverb of the three in my opinion, the stereo panning of the tremolo in the Hydra really is incredible.
