Yes! Sus chords really change your sound. Great lesson, Sean!
For sure man!!
Brilliant Sean. The non sus voicings are like scaffolding around them - that’s the way I picture them as they bring out their unique modern sound 🙌🏾.
Nice way to explain that man!!
Thank God for you Bro 🙏🏾 I appreciate you taking the time to thoroughly explain the concepts of the chords and their usage.
I just want to say thank you for taking the time out to do this. I've learned so much ever since I've subscribed to your channel. Thank you for the way you teach, Not just the chords you present. I am becoming able to craft my own sound based on your teaching. Can only imagine what an i missing on the website. At about 22 years of playing sometimes I feel stuck
Wow, thank you bro!

All the way from Zimbabwe 🇿🇼

You could make a video applying everything you've taught in a song and structure it, and teach Jorge Calandrelli's harmony with the strings, thanks!! 😀
I don't know how that it is, but i can check it out

I love your skill bro. with all this skill I am always wondering 'youre always transcribing other people's crazy movements; why dont you one day just give us your own video with your own crazy movements for us to (if we can lol) transcribe?' hahaha
😂

Hello sean
Can you do some tutorials from a man called Nqubeko mbatha. He has amazing things that we wish you could help us figure out
😅Please
2:59 bro what was that!! that was so jazzy
One question keeps coming up when I see your name: "What do you call the guy who can analyze what other geniuses can do?"
THE DEMYSTIFIER
A genius too because we can listen to complex music and not understand and hear what’s going on but professionals read one another. Sean is at the top of the gospel game.
I love teachings like this
One day do this song
Healing by Ntokozo
Beautiful! I was thinking, since you are the master transciber, whats the top 15 chords you think are used in Gospel today?
What made you think of 15? Lol
@@SeanWilsonPiano I know you think beyond the normal so 15 is like the least you can think of!
Sus chords and drop twos use these watch your sound improve 😁👌🏾
If you know how to use them correctly, but yes agreed
Can we talk about you coming for one day session in Las Vegas?
hey Sean, i'm an intermadiate piano player, i wish to know on how to approach or form chords to make them more hopeful and smooth.
When you say to memorize the top note, are we to always see that note as the 5th of the chord?
Jason Tyson, Rodney East & Alain Merville.... who else?
True, they all use Sus voicings a lot
Does neo-soul use alot of sus chords?
Hey man, did you take some videos off of your youtube page? I could sworn you had over 100 videos one time when I check last year or so lol
One or two of the older ones... next time I’ll make an announcement so folks will know to hurry up and watch them one last time!
Sean Wilson Piano got it. And thanks!
So Sean are you saying that you use either a sus 2 or sus 4 voicing based on if the 2 or 4 is diatonic to the key you're in? Obviously rules are meant to be broken but is that a good mindset to start with?
That’s a general rule of thumb... but I don’t use for sus4 a lot personally... as a general rule of thumb I’ll replace any major voicing with a sus2 in drop position or a major7 (not discussed) in drop 2... I haven’t found a lot of gospel musicians using the sus4 as an resolved voicing
Sean Wilson Piano thank you sir!
@@SeanWilsonPiano when you say Maj 7 drop 2 you mean for example... if B is the melody you would do C-G-B in right hand with E in left hand?
Sorry i meant C-E-B and G in the bass.
Close. if B is the melody then the specific Maj7,drop 2 I’m taking about is G#-D#-E-B which is closely related the the Sus voicing discussed in the video for B on top: G#-E-F#-B both bottom and top notes are the same so the ear hears almost the same chord although they are fundamentally different. In the video I mentioned they are closely related
Bom dia ,sou aqui do Brasil ,gostaria de saber se existe algum material gratuito de aulas ,pois não tenho condições de pagar
Translate to English?
What app do you to transcripe the chords and notes realtime?
the name of the song in background man
Paris Bowens, the anthem, it’s on SoundCloud
I think he used a major seventh drop 2 voicing on the second move from first video not a sus two.
The echo in the room is a bit large. Maybe move the mic closer?
This is very old vid.. thanks tho

14:44 these aren't sus's 😂😂😂
