- While I put evening fruits. suddenly shakina push the cage door and jump down and run to the Rambutan trees, it take us almost 45 minutes to get her, People always ask me to record but my phone was always Inside the house. I cannot waste my time going Inside to take my phone without watching Shakina. But this time my phone is Inside my Pocket. But I only realize after a 20-minute tray to catch shakina. In this video, you all can see for yourself how to catch shakina back. When comes to this situation my face and my voice must same. not angry not shouting and cannot make her scared. At one place I fell because it was slippery after raining.

I love that the dogs were trying to help I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. So scary. So glad she ran back in the house. She sure gave her grandpa a run for his money. lol

I can finally help!!!! Jamil! Please let me offer a suggestion! It is the way we catch escaped horses! Think of it like a recipe I share rather than being told what to do, because it is offered with an intention to help. Teach them to come to you to take a treat from your hand while in your home after calling to them, and start, not after they have run away, but under ordinary circumstances. To teach them over time. Make what you offer to them something special, even if it must be something sweet like a fruit flavored jelly bean or a dried fruit they love but only get at that time. And always call to them using a special call, so they learn you are calling to give a treat. Only give one treat at one time... but don't catch them! Then after they are well accustomed to learning this and they do come for their treat reliably, you might want to teach them to let you pat their shoulder very briefly at the same time as they have their eye on the treat, which is in your other hand as you are passing it to them, to make it easier for you to reach out and grab them later, if they ever get loose. Because right now you are just training them to come to you. Make is so they always connect the sound of the call to their getting a treat, and don't scold them when they come. THEN if they ever get out, call to them in this special way, pretend you are not mad at them for getting out or doing a bad thing, and let them come to you for the treat or you go to them and hold it out to them. And as they come for the treat, relax and don't give away the fact that you want to catch them, but once in reach then grab them, as gently as you can without them getting away. Then if they like it, cuddle them and tell them how good they are and try to distract them from the fact that they just got caught. And be sure not to scold them once caught, to increase your chances of getting them next time. Catching them then scolding and punishing them ensures you won't catch them next time. This is a frustrating thing, but we must accept that it is our failing when they get loose not theirs, this way we don't feel the need to scold them. If you can catch them gently and continue to make them anticipate getting a treat with continued practice, hopefully you will have another chance to grab them, each time they get loose in the future. I hope this helps. Training horses to anticipate and come for treats has enabled us to prevent a tragedy if an escaped horse ever were to run out to the road and across in front of oncoming traffic. I hope I am helpful by offering this. : )

This is where we see the love that Jamil has for his macaques. When he caught Shakina he wasn't mad but on the contrary relieved..to the point of embracing and kissing her !!! And as a punishment ??? A nice plate of good fresh fruit for her to replenish her energy !!!! What authority !!! lol

Yeah, back into a tiny cage. That monkey is scared of him, you doht see what goes on off camera. Watch the body language, it didn't even want to be touched once back in the cage. Poor thing had it's chance for freedom

Who can blame her? It's such a beautiful environment for her to run around! Shakina is growing up and looking for some adventure! I can not imagine, that she would run away and never come back!

It's a shame. That's why they should be left in the wild and not stuck in cages or locked up inside a home. I don't care what kind of person has them, it's not right.

The Dog did a great job of herding Shakina back to the house. He made her scared enough to come home, great job!! I hope Shaki gives her a good scolding :)

Shakina love to be free. I have never seen her be afraid before..
She's smart, she doesn't like cage so she runs from it. Take the hint and let her live like a normal monkey.
May I suggest you sit down and call her. I had a dog that ran away every time she got out. If we sat down she would come but if we went after her she would run.💛🧡

But my guess is that she was fear-grimacing from whatever freaked her out so much earlier that she led Jamil and Sayafi [sp?] on a wild-monkey-chase in the first place.

They would rather be living here, in FULL COMFORT, without starving, when they can't find food or being attacked and beaten by higher ranking macaques or killed by predators. The wild isn't always, better, just because of total freedom. People don't have total freedom, but would rather live, where there's rules, rather than, in the wild. Think about it. If they get hurt or sick, they go to a vet, not in the wild, it can be a death sentence.🤷

That wasn't a smile. The only primates that smile are humans. Chimps have a form of "smile" which is more of an open-mouthed grin, but without teeth showing. Every nonhuman primate only shows their teeth when angry or scared.
So Shakina was _not happy_ about being constrained.
But I have a feeling something else had Shakina freaked out and that was why she was running all over the place.

Ma'am, I regret to tell you, that was not a smile. That was a fear teething. It's unfortunate for the animal at the same time fortunate, they dont understand that he is helping them as they are fostered. However, if they would leave them in the wild nature would take care.

When shakina is a baby, she already really scramble.
Shakina finally knows what it feels like to be free again an she is running all around because usually you have her strapped to a chair or something an she don't have a lot of room to move around so she is enjoying her free time outside now like she was born to be I'm glad that she had almost 20 minutes of feeling free just once again in her life

For the majority of these channels I would agree with you as for this one I don't. There was one where he found a baby in the wild lost behind a family members house he did not try to keep it he knew it was born wild. Shakina was not born wild. They have a family life with other monkeys it will be important to provide shakina with her own mate when she gets to that age so she gets to have a full life but he does provide them with so much to keep them occupied and they don't have to suffer any harshness they may have suffered in the wild

She is a handful..when she was picked up, Shakina gave a fear grimace because she was doing something naughty and might be in trouble. But Jamil was kind and put her in the cage. Shaki was relieved .

Shakina thought she was going to punished for that… that is why she had the fear grimace there at the end when Sayffi caught her…but Jamil responded to her with love… some people accuse him of beating these monkeys and it makes me so mad … Shakina is just a little kid and it was a game for her to run and be chased like that… she never went further than what she knew though…. She kept,going back to where it was familiar to her… I truly believe if Jamil had stopped chasing her, she would have gotten bored and came back…

Why don't you leave the little monkey loose? I see so many channels that the little monkeys are raised loose in the house, without those horrible collars and the most interesting thing is, they don't run away.And these cages, heartbreaking to see the little animal trapped in a cage

I am glad she is back home and she is safe, but you have to find a way for her to use up her energy.
Her parents are 30 years old, so they are better at handling the cage, but they need room to exercise also!
I had a greyhound that loved to escape. When you went after her, she would run further thinking it was a game.
If you turned and headed back home then she would slowly come back.
She is scared of him.
Why the fear grimace? I’ve never seen a pet monkey run away like that before, so scared for her. Glad she was caught
OMG Jamil .... my heart was in my mouth watching Shakina run down the road - now she is getting really big, her body appears so strong and it looks as though she was only in second gear when she was running - lots more speed possible. Thank God you finally caught her, I think by then she was very scared too - I felt worried because you must have been close to a heart attack and the look of panic/fear Shakina had in her eyes and her mouth was in a grimace of fear when you finally caught her. This needs a careful contingency plan for the future, it could happen again, she is super intelligent and very quick - suggest you have some food treats handy (just in case) to put down to tempt her back Jamil, you can't chase her down that long road again and she can't be tethered on a five-foot rope 24/7 - I hope in future she is scared to go too far so long as she is not chased.
All's well that ends well! It was gripping but very scary to watch how baby Shakina behaved when she got that small window of opportunity to escape. Well done Jamil to capture it so clearly on video when you were under such stress, that was truly commendable. I think everyone will be interested to actually see what happened, thank you so much I love you all.❤
Omg shakina is a handful..this is the first time I see a pet monkey her age not listen to their owners..it really makes me wonder how other ones are treated off camera....im guessing she will start listening better when she matures.

Now you understand what I meant when I sent you that video of that HUGE TREEHOUSE Enclosure!!! An enclosure like that would,give her the freedom to run and jump and climb to her heart’s content! That little cage is way too small for her… I hope something gets done soon for these guys because Shakina is too big for that tiny cage…
