  • In this tutorial I’ll be demonstrating how to create vector pressed buttons with Adobe Illustrator. This exercise is a good example of how you can use gradients to create appearance of depth and reflective light. The buttons are illuminated with neon light to indicate whether they are on or off. I’ll be demonstrating how to create both variations.

This is probably the best, clearest tutorial I've watched about anything. Great job.

Nicely done! This is just what I was looking for. AND, no annoying background music repeating endlessly. Thank you especially for that!!

This was awesome, really. Thank you very much. I really enjoyed working through it. I don't have Illustrator but your instructions were clear enough that I was able to create it in Pixelmator Pro. It really was a delight to do. Very gratifying to see the final results.

Nice tutorial. You can also achieve the same result with just one circle. Just create multiple gradient fills for the beveled parts and two gradient strokes (aligned to the outside) for the two highlights. Use the offset effect on each fill and stoke to get them the correct size and make sure they are stacked/ordered correctly in the appearance panel. The advantage of doing it this way is you can make it a graphic style and apply it to any shape later on.

I Really appreciate the time you put into this Tutorial. Great for some. Not for me. This was one of the hardest tutorials ive followed yet. And half time time I'm watching Indian speaking fellows that are extremely hard to understand or no speech at all. but yet. This tutorial was nothing but frustrating for me. I can see others really getting it. I'm still not real familiar with Ai. I couldn't Rotate the things half the time. I was non stop selecting the wrong things and not getting anything to line up correctly. when I was finished it looked not much like this button at all. :( I really appreciate the tut non the less. I just personally couldn't get it to look similar. rotate this this way.. and you know what. lets rotate it the other way instead.. I was LOST!
