Afzal this has to be my favourite video you've produced. As a person born in the 21st century i think it is likely I will not follow a linear career path but a cyclical path between industries. I think I know my first two career aspirations now. First sell side to harden me for a decade and then into the buy side, benefitting from both the sell side experience and from the capital earned which would hopefully be substantial enough so that percentage returns translate into real returns with a magnitude that couldn't be achieved with a low capital base. Thank you AH.

What’s the difference between MA in BB as well side, and MA in PEVC as sell side ?
Where would a private equity real estate firm fit into the buy side vs. sell side discussion? I'm talking about a firm that develops real estate funded by debt and equity investors, then pays out the parties a few years later after the project is complete and is sold to a REIT or other institution.
Hey Afzal! I recently found your channel and I love it, lotta helpful stuff on here. I’m in year 11 ahahah just doing some early looking. So then would you recommend remaining in the sell side for a few years in the IBD and then moving to the buy side, in order to gain a better work life balance and compensation?

Sorry, point of correction Afzal, Compliance & Risk are not back office divisions, these are "functions" of the bank and can sit either in front office with the business or in middle office, but never back office.
Is it possible for a fresh graduate student join the asset management firm and work for 2 or 3 years, then move to the other buy side companies such as a private equity or hedge fund firm?
Where would quantitative analysis be?
Can you have a firm that does both buy side and sell side?
How do you enter the buy side with an IB exit strategy?
How accurate is wolf of wall street movie on investment banking. I mean at IB jobs do we really have drugs and strippers party ?
