Ya'll some bad boys. I'm a 64 almost 65 year old keyboardist/educator/ arranger/full time musician. I sure hope that you young bloods understand what you're doing. I grew up listening to the Masters, Ellington, Basie, others then later Sly, James Brown, Earth Wind and Fire, not to mention Soooo many other heavy weights. Man you guys are keeping things moving. You need to know that and hear it from an old head like me. The old masters, Coltrane, Miles, Dizzy others were ALWAYS experimenting, trying to move things forward. That is EXACTLY what you young brothers are doing. You have literally in my Strong opinion, moved things to the next level. It is SOOOO very Damn refreshing to hear your music man. I just didn't wanna be that old joker hatin on young folk always talking bout "well back in my day was real music" blah blah blah. But many of my boys I grew up listening to and listened to when I was around your age are all gone. Man so I just got on you tube and started searching and discoved 2014 Strange Arrange and discovered you guys and others. Keep doing what you're doing. Peace
I agree and like what they're doing but they're playing to Bruno's track. The masters didn't play to tracks. I'm also a keyboardist of over 50 years and have played with some well known artists over the years in jazz , R&B and pop. I'd like to hear them put the arrangement together where they're playing everything. It's a whole lot different when you have to lay down the foundation and play on top of it.
@@LGDoc Hey, totally agree. The Masters didn't play to tracks absolutely. And it would be a whole other thing if these young Bloods would have to lay down the groove AND play on top of it. But my point is simply it's sort of a different art form w what they're doing. It's kind of an age old argument and in fact not a simple one at that. Sort of like in sports who was the better Basketball player. Oscar Robinson, Wilt Chamberlain, or Michael Jordan. "SEEMS" like a valid question, but is it really. Different Era f each. Would you agree that each wave or generation, builds off of the next. At one time it was thought it was physically impossible to run a sub 4 minute mile, until 1 guy did it then lots of people did it after that 1 guy did. The point I was trying to make in my original post is that these young bloods aren't necessarily "better" than the old Masters but that the sound had evolved, not into something better, but certainly different and good. I'm sure you're familiar with the birth of bebop w Dizzy, Coltrane and those guys. Remember, how at 1st it was a little bit rejected, even by mainstream jazz. You know how it is, you sound way more accomplished than myself. Music is SO subjective. Remember how Miles and Wynton used to feud. 2 sho nuff masters. Yet Wynton (my home boy) was/is primarily about preservation of the "jazz" catalogue and language, where Miles was all about exploration. That WAS Miles idea of what jazz really was. From Straight ahead, to bebop, to cool jazz, to electric. That's 1 reason why they feuded and my point about the youngsters. Theyre Just different. And these young bucks WOULD NOT be where they are were it not for the SOLID foundation of the masters of old
@@LGDoc There are moments when they are not playing on top of Bruno’s tracks….especially at the end. Also, using the popular songs is how they are getting the TH-cam logarithm to suggest this video to many people , that’s how you found it. 😀
@@heartstrings110 I'm sure you meant TH-cam algorithm but I hear you and I'm certainly not saying that they're not good. However, I think it would have been more impressive to cover the song strictly on their own as others have done with various songs. Peace and be safe.

It's not necessary to include the original track in a cover video, the search engine finds it based on the the title. Peace and be safe.
When the band kicked in after the vocal intro my jaw hit the floor and didn’t leave it until the song was over. Superb stuff
