For context regarding the song: Jonghyun wrote this song for her when she was having a super bad time and wasn’t doing well which is why the song is very personal to her and emotional plus is also the reason they made her sing it as a tribute to him since he made the song
Shinee's Jonghyun wrote this song. That's why she sang it on his tribute when he passed away.
Is a very emotional song for everyone.
This song is demanding enough, but I can't imagine Lee Hi singing this at Jonghyun's tribute. The fact that she was able to do any of it is amazing.
Can´t listen to this song without tears in the eyes after all this years. Jonghyun wanted to give comfort to all the sad souls out there but it was impossible for him to find comfort. So sad! Lee Hi transformed his composition into magic! Her breaking voice when she sings " I´m OK hurts so much.

Lee Hi said that when she completed her album she felt it was sub par and missing something. She specifically wanted a song about being able to breathe because at the time she was having a hard time breathing which she found out later was due to panic attacks.
Jonghyun submitted this song anonymously through Tablo who is also in YG with Lee Hi. He thought it would be rejected because he was with another music label (SM). Tablo played it for Lee Hi and she picked it up right away. She only found out Jonghyun wrote and composed it when she started recording it. This song gave her so much comfort and to know that Jonghyun struggled in the same way was overwhelming for her when she sang it as a tribute to him less than a month after his death.

It's Jonghyun who wrote this song and the time when Lee Hi cries and stops singing during the tribute live performances, the lyrics is "It is okay if you run out of breath, no one will blame you".... I guess she was thinking about Jonghyun at that time... Indeed a heartbreaking but beautiful song...
Lee Hi possesses one of the best voices in the industry. I love this song. It's one of my most often listened songs on Spotify. But it's the first time I watched this special performance. I couldn't bring myself to do it before. The phrase "You did well" at the end of this song is one of Jonghyun favourite phrases, that you will hear also in other songs written by him. Jonghyun was such a great artist. I recommend all of his songs. They are really good. Some of them are sad, but some are happy, quirky, groovy, sexy... They reflect his wonderful personality in all its aspects.

At the time, she had a hard time breathing due to her accumulated stress that's why she wanted to make a song about breath to cheer up people who were going through the same thing as her. Her friend Jonghyun gave this song for her. After that tribute performance, she didn't sing this song for a long time. She said it doesn't feel right.

Breathe is such a beautiful beautiful song! The melody, the lyrics are just so comforting and beautiful.. indeed like a hug. Jonghyun was such a warm, lovely person and he comforted a lot of people with his music.

One of my favorite playlists I have is my comfort playlist. It's includes Breathe, End of the day by the beautiful Jonghyun and recent release Bear Hug by Suho.
We all need comfort in our daily lives and I love how music can be comforting when no one else can.

I saw someone recommend Park Hyo Shin and his song "Wildflower". Wildflower is one of the most famous and best selling song in Korea. He's beloved by EVERYONE in Korea. He's considered one of the best singers in Korea. He's gone through so many traumas and he's called god's voice. Also the word "Shin" means god in Korean. LOL I'm surprised his life hasn't been made into a movie yet; maybe because he's still so young.

It's incredible how someone diagnosed with Spasmodic Dysphonia can sing at all. Lots of people with dysphonia can barely talk let along sing. One of the reasons he's called god's voice and it's funny because Shin is god in Korean. LOL
