You nailed it! The one HUGE drawback to using standard bait casters has always been that they are pretty terrible with light baits and as you stated perfectly, non-aerodynamic baits, and my Curado 150 solved this problem. I can literally toss ultralight lures into the wind with no backlash...something that would never happen with a standard bait caster. Other than the price point, I can't really think of any situation where I would prefer a spinning reel over one of these.
I recently bough a Svivlo Draken One, cheaper than a DC, no electrics, actually does what all the "no thumb required" reels claim to do. No thumb required AT ALL and you basically have to throw a heavy lure at the ground to make it backlash.
I fished with a curado dc for a few years and the main thing I noticed is I got almost no backlashes but when I did they were beyond recovery. It almost seems like once the backlash starts the computer panics and makes it worse.
@@PayKay Daiwa has IM Z limit breaker, Kastking has iReel one and soon iReel 2, the Chinese company I can think of is loongze.i don't know the name of that reel though.
Is the SLX XT and the Abu Garcia Vendetta a good combo? I want to get one for Christmas. I have been fishing with spinning reels for a long time and I want to get into the world of baitcasters and my friend recommended this combo because they are durable and good for a beginner like me. He also to me this combo is a good all-purpose combo.
I got lucky cuz mid to low tier shimano is available in our country thanks for its manufacturing factory for those are in my country, so i as a shimano fanboy are grateful, Since u also has slx dc, i wanna ask if it can be use for saltwater?
I am doing a series where I ask people for a lure recommendation and try to catch a fish on that lure. What lure would you recommend? It has to be under $15 though.
"And then they're going to use a regular bait caster" ... No. I don't think I will. My brand new bait caster went straight to Facebook market after 1 trip. No desire to make that work. Love spinning reels and the grip/line/guides feel from the line being below the rod etc. I'll break out the Zebco bullet mini before I'll touch a standard bait caster again. DC tech is the only thing making me consider trying bait casters again one day. Hope they keep advancing the tech to eliminate all character building elements 100% LOL.
@@Bakamojo I love my spinning gear, but there are scenarios where baitcasters will outshine them every single time. Have u tried a standard Curado? I think you would really like it for a non dc reel!
I got a curado dc and I hate that damn thing. I have about a 10 tatula SVs, zillion, and tatula elites. The DC thing is just a TH-cam short craze. I can get better performance out my tatula than the shimano curado DC.

Both Daiwa and Kastking make "DC" reels and a few other Chinese companies as well
What are they called?

I don't like them because I don't own one and I'm jealous of everyone who does.

@humbugvideos i see, i thought we cant use it for sw, since they didnt state it in their page
@@shahrulaiezam924 Upon doing some research I haven’t found anything against it, but maybe reach out to Shimano and see what they say!
