    With those tires…that’s pretty amazing. Also why I drive Jeep. As we grew older we migrated away from the Wranglers. But the Cherokee’s and Grand Cherokees are just as capable, and a lot more comfort. Well done Sarah…very enjoyable video.

      I agree. Those tires look like something meant for a Hyundai Santa Fe, but the Jeep name means that off-road performance is no joke. I was really impressed with its hill climbing capability.

    I just sold my 1996 Grand Cherokee. I bought it new in 1996. It had about 170,000 miles on it. I feel I just got out of a long, abusive relationship. When it was great, it was great, but it could go bad quickly, and then it was bad and cost a lot to fix. But thanks for doing this review. It was interesting.

    With true diff lockers it would have crawled the hill even woth those tires. In the video you could see the electronics doing funky stuff to make the hill. For occasional "I need to go somewhere off the paved road“ it will work but it will still die in some serious long term use anyways... Lets hope the Wrangler will survive with it's conception and the will return back the steel/iron cast spindles insted of the aluminium ones which brakes in offroad use...

    • @johncarter1137
      @johncarter1137 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Mileage doesn't really matter over here in the US because diesel cost almost twice what gasoline does and a diesel engine cost more to buy and maintain. The torque thing is valid but I found I enjoyed towing a race car trailer more enjoyable with a big gasoline engine than with a diesel.

    • @stewpuddy4161
      @stewpuddy4161 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Plus the emissions stuff that the government has mandated to choke out the diesels, I just bought a big gas engine 3/4 ton truck. I wouldn't even consider the diesel. And I've owned diesels before. No doubt the torque us amazing, but it just isn't worth the extra cost and the hassle.

So far nothing has topped that F-250 Super Duty. That thing wasn't phased by anything. I'm not really in the market for a truck or SUV but it I was I would put out the extra $$$ for that F-250 even if that diesel engine isn't DIY friendly.
