For all you young dude's that are saying I don't get it , this shit came out on 2001. They did this shit before everyone else. Bands we listen to today would not be around without them.
maxwelld23 agreed with your statement. I remember in like 2003 buying a trustkill sampler cd and fell in love. So many good bands from the early 2000’s
When I think of Metalcore coming into it's own, they are one of the foundations imo. They obviously aren't what metalcore is these days, but they paved the way for so many subgenre's of hardcore and were so groundbreaking and ahead of their time
More TBT from this era. Misery Signal - The Year Summer Ended in June It Dies Today - A Threnody for Modern Romance Haste the Day - American Love Alexisonfire - Pulmonary Archery Underoath - When the Sun Sleeps
agree with the MS and IDT choices. but for HTD, i'd go with something from Pressure The Hinges or Dreamer. second vocalist was way better than the first dude.
Post-hardcore is a more experimental version of hardcore punk back in the 80s so how can a metalcore band from 99 be the forefathers of post-hardcore what the fuck are you on about ?
Poison the well, misery signals, remembering never, everytime I die.....before misery signals was compromise, which “the year summer ended in June” is about. Both killer bands. Also remembering never, feathers in heaven is such a good older song!
The Bled - "Shadetree Mechanics" How has no one mentioned this band yet?! Completely unique. Such a shame they didn't get the recognition they deserved.
My favourite band....followed closely by Glassjaw and PTW...I posted on facebook a couple of weeks ago about the Bled and truant posted back saying he used to be into them so maybe a throwback Thursday in the future
They are from my hometown in Tucson, AZ and I've seen them several times. Glad to hear that they still get recognition. I'm not trying to be that guy on the internet, but whether you believe me or not I don't care. But my 8th grade science teacher in 2003 was the bassists dad. It is just another neat memory. Thank you for bringing The Bled up! Respect!
@@Foundry81 Saw them on that tour at either the Intersection or the Orbit Room in Grand Rapids and I hold the same opinion. Wasn't My Chemical Romance one of the openers?
Definitely the best track in their catalog! They were extremely influential and a super fun live performance. I also love the simplicity of this video. Basically, just a practice session which brings me back!
YEH BOI! This is like a late xmas present. This is one of my fave songs of all time. I was so excited to see this pop up. You never cease to impress dude 🖤
Would love to see any of these: Veil of Maya - Mikasa In Hearts Wake - Survival My Ticket Home - Ayahuasca My Ticket Home - Spit Not Chewed The Dillinger Escape Plan - Prancer The Dillinger Escape Plan - When I Lost My Bet Keep up the sick work, man
Check out "Apathy is a Cold Body" by Poison the Well. It comes from the album "You Come Before You," which is probably the most underrated Metalcore album of all time. They were using progressive elements and moody soundscapes that people still have yet to capture again. The album was lightning in a bottle. 'The Realist" is another killer track from the album
Meh Meh Meh black peaks are phenomenal. I think theyre currently writing their second album... it'll be hard to top statues! And heck are hilarious!!! Although they have now folded
Poison the well, misery signals, remembering never, everytime I die, 7angels 7plagues...before misery signals was compromise, which “the year summer ended in June” is about. Both killer bands. Also, remembering never, feathers in heaven is a good older song. An all time favourite.
One of my favorite videos of one of my favorite songs from one of my favorite bands. Actually got effed up after a show with their bassist and sold his some weed. Dude was cool as hell 🤘
Throwback : meshuggah- Humiliative (live, corrected sync) from 96. You’ll see how ahead of their time this band was. Do yourself a damn favor. Also gotta get to Trepalium- moonshine limbo at some point haha
Back in the day being more into "tough guy" H/C, Poison the well that was the only band that I would listen to that could sing. I would highly recommend listening to anything off their Opposite of December album. Their best.
Threat Signal - Elimination Process Devil Wears Prada - Big Wiggly Style A Baleful Agony - Perdition Aeons of Corruption - Unholy I Am Noah - Drowned Walking Dead On Broadway - The Sinner Fit for an autopsy - Absolute Hope Absolute Hell Upon A burning Body - Scars Breakdown of Sanity - Infest Miss May I - Forgive and Forget Caliban - Paralyzed The Sorrow - Retracing Memories or Where is the sun Attila- Proving Grounds Any Given Day - Arise Carnifex - Drown Me In Blood or Die Without Hope DevilDriver - Trust No One The Black Dahlia Murder - The Receipt
Tear From The Red, The Opposite of December, and You Come Before You are amazing records. If you like modern metal, you kind owe it to yourself to delve deep into some early Poison the Well.
Martin Grech- Dali He sings on Hexes by Tesseract and this song is crazy. His vocals are next level and the song is wild, would love to see your reaction to it!

My man you have GOT to check out Black Tongue! Easily the heaviest band I've ever heard! They're the guitarist and drummer of Infant Annihilator, and their vocalist Alex Teyen absolutely destroys every other growler I've ever heard, his technique for his lowest growl is fucking insanity! Check out the song "I'm So Tired of Sighing. Please Lord, Let it Be Night". It's the last song on their last album, and it's literally and lyrically the summoning of Satan. The ending of the song is absolutely incredible, gives me goosebumps every time. And the groove riff in the second phase of the song is one of my all time favorite riffs. Here's a link to the song! th-cam.com/video/kDs_Nyd6-2M/w-d-xo.html
Love poison the well. For the next throwback video you should either do bayonetwork or absentimental by Norma Jean. Been requesting this one for a long time
"Nerdy" is my personal fave but this'll do. Next throwback please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, "American Love" by Haste The Day I promise you will not regret it!
Poison the well - 'You come before you' whole album is perfect from start to finish!

7 angels 7 plagues and skycamefalling were better imo but yeah
So true!! Brings me back
When I think of Metalcore coming into it's own, they are one of the foundations imo. They obviously aren't what metalcore is these days, but they paved the way for so many subgenre's of hardcore and were so groundbreaking and ahead of their time
Hell Yeah, PTW were the Kings of that early 2000’s sound.

The forefathers of post hardcore. They changed the game.

JediSonicHog you actually know whats up lol. I'd say Embrace would be the forefathers of posthardcore.
This is the music that started it all for me. Misery signals, poison the well, underoath, alexisonfire, it dies today...

Heh, I gotta post this in the main comments.
Hell yeah! This guy should do Pulmonary Archery.
Been waiting for this since I saw these videos. These guys are legends 🤘
maxwelld23 only liked the comment because I seen your stache in the pic. Legend all in it's own
PTW practically started hardcore/metalcore. Way back when.
Finally!!! I recommended them a while back when u did a throwback with Deftones...they always reminded me of a hardcore version of Deftones
First time I saw Deftones PTW opened for them. It was the summer after I graduated high school and young me loved it. That was like 20 years ago lol
Un plaisir d’entendre ça encore de nos jours 😎
I loved the old trust kill days, Nora, hopesfall and poisen started the game
Definitely listen to PTW - Crystal Lake too! Remember seeing these guys at the Islington Academy, there were immense...
So much energy. I absolutely love this song. This might be top 10 best hardcore songs.
Never heard of Poison the Well? I grew up with this band as a stable. So it's just so interesting to hear what you have to say.

We will never be given music like this ever again. Late 90s/Early 00s was just insane.
This takes me back to sophomore year of high school, bro. I'm 30 now.
