I randomly played this as a break from Moonview Highway but I never actually planned on grinding it for a while, however I ended up hitting a 50.245 lap 1 on the first day so I just decided to keep with it since I was grown tired of MH anyway.
I also added a minor new strat before the 3 thwomps which involves doing the wheelie quicker, although this adds a chain every lap it's quite consistent and a full chain is not necessary to save time.
The Run:
Lap 1: 50.263 - Good lap to start, high 2s/low 3s are the norm for me so hitting a lap closer to 250 is nice. Strong 1st half but the superman/shroom could both have been better, plus the spiral and the last turn were both a little wide.
Lap 2: 50.303 - This is the weakest lap in the run, mainly thanks to the drop at the start which was by far the biggest spot of time loss. On the plus side I didn't have to lose time to manoeuvre round the sliding thwomp like my former WR did (which I certainly would have had to with a full chain). The superman was good but the shroom was wide from starting my drift too late. Everything after was done well but the last turn was a bit wide again. Overall fairly solid lap for a drop.
Lap 3: 50.071 (BKS) - This came by surprise and ended up being a huge comeback, hence the music lap 3 :p Technical improvements would be a better line into the 1st turn and the turn before the spiral, but that last turn was absolutely huge, I gained almost 40ms from that.
I actually almost reset this attempt after getting the drop on lap 2 and to be honest I still have no idea why I chose to continue with that run. I will continue to go for a 2:30.5 end time.

Luke is now the new king of this track, you defeated Zane even though Zane's previous WR reached 1000 days and this alone, having had WR and BKT in Final Grounds Castle of Darkness, GBA Bowser's Castle 3 No Shortcut, GBA Bowser's Castle 4, Gothic Castle, Blackrose Castle.etc makes you the king of castles. But being the king of a CT that is Final Grounds for many years since being added to CTGP, I will just say this: Big congrats for This Amazing World Record.
