When krishna was a little kid he used to finish all the dairy products like curd, butter, etc really quick as they were his favs. So Yashoda his foster mother would keep all the food really high so he couldnt reach it. So Krishna would call his 3-4 friends and form a pyramid to get the food. Thats why people celebrate it by tying a pot filled with curd really high and people form a pyramid to break the pot. Also not everybody can participate in the pyramid it requires people who are skilled for it.

Chhath Pooja is the hardest festival ever. 36 hours fasting not even a single drop of water. We worship both setting and rising sun. It falls in winter so the water is very cold in river and we have to stand in that cold water till the sun rises.

Durga Puja is a 10 days long festival. Padals(temporary structures )are built all over Bengal which are thousands in number . Each pandal have a statue of Goddess Durga . People visit pandal to pandal . Then after the festival the Durga statues are immersed in tha Ganges

Since you got to see the celebration of janmashtami, those guys in that video standing on each other's shoulders to get to that height of the ‘matki’, means a clay pot hung up on a rope on a very tall height and the guys have to break it. The point basically has a mixture of various delicious food stuffs, especially belonging to the god Krishna’s time. The cultural reference to this kinda celebration is that it was lord krishna and his little friends who used to do this trick in their childhood to steal curd and buttermilk from the clay pots hung up on rope at a certain height in the houses of all gopis in ‘Gokul’, a place where lord krishna spent his entire childhood

Chhath Pooja is the hardest festival ever. 36 hours fasting not even a single drop of water. We worship both setting and rising sun. It falls in winter so the water is very cold in river and we have to stand in that cold water till the sun rises.

Rakshabandhan - a special festival for celebrating the bond between brother-sister.
We also have one of the days during Diwali which celebrates brother-sister bond known as Bhaidooj.

Durga Puja is a 10 days long festival. Padals(temporary structures )are built all over Bengal which are thousands in number . Each pandal have a statue of Goddess Durga . People visit pandal to pandal . Then after the festival the Durga statues are immersed in tha Ganges

There are so many festivals left guys. Please check them out too 😊. You cannot miss - Rath Yatra (of Lord Jagannath- Lord of Universe, who himself comes out of the temple to meet his devotees, its a grand celebration, with Ghanta Bajani i.e. instruments played, classical dance and enactment too), Raja Parba/ Mithuna Sankranti (festival that celebrates womanhood, fertility, menstruation and metaphorically with the essence that fertility of mother Earth as its important for life to exist and need to be taken care of), Maha Shivaratri, Rakhsa Bandhan/ Rakhi (festival of bonding between brother and sister with brother promising that he will always be there for her, protect her always), Panaa Sankranti and Makar Sankranti (harvest festival) etc.
All Hindu festivals have art (some kind of art work on the floor/ ground either with colours called Rangoli or rice which in Odisha called Jhoti chita and other names too in different states), dance, music, instruments playing is a major/ important part.
India is called Land of festivals for a reason ❤️✨😁😌.

someone said bhojpuri song are trash and vulgar... agreed but perhaps you don't know much about traditional bhojpuri music and have only heard the commercialised songs......most of it is vulgarity and yes autotuned trash but for decades and decades each traditional festival we have religious or even older classic bhojpuri songs we play for chhath puja and other puja which current bollywood is no match for.....so anyone whose not from bihar don't misjudge bhojpuri as a vulgar language as most of you do. a language is never vulgar it's just that the industry made that outlook.....(i don't speak or understand bhojpuri i am from bihar but from mithia region where maithili and it's dialects are spoken although my mother tongue is hindi )

Durga Puja & Navaratri are two names for the same festival! It is celebrated with dolls, fancy dress & a celebration of the performing arts like classical music & dance, in the South.
Since you got to see the celebration of janmashtami, those guys in that video standing on each other's shoulders to get to that height of the ‘matki’, means a clay pot hung up on a rope on a very tall height and the guys have to break it. The point basically has a mixture of various delicious food stuffs, especially belonging to the god Krishna’s time. The cultural reference to this kinda celebration is that it was lord krishna and his little friends who used to do this trick in their childhood to steal curd and buttermilk from the clay pots hung up on rope at a certain height in the houses of all gopis in ‘Gokul’, a place where lord krishna spent his entire childhood

Well, in Karnataka State, it extends to TENTH day to celebrate VIJAYADASHAMI, the festival that culminates NAVRATRI celebrating victory or Vijaya on tenth day or Dashami (you need one whole episode to check out the JAMBOO SAVARI that happens in MYSORE)

Want to clarify, Pongal, Onam, Teej, Ugadi, Baisakhi are all similiar festivals celebrated for Harvest. There is variation in the season and crops because of how different our geography is, there are two seasons of Harvest in India: Rabi and Kharif.
