    My maid has been with us for 20 years. She has seen me grow up, and she still orders me around like she did when I was little. She has been through a lot, from her house burning down, to getting her kids married, getting a new house and opening her first bank account. My parents have been with her through everything, helped her in every step of the way. My aunt represented her in court pro bono. Her husband is going through cancer, and we all are helping her through it. Indian families don't see maids are "service people". They are family.

    • @whitewalker608
      @whitewalker608 3 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      Don't generalize. It's very common to see this behaviour in India. Not what the kid did per se, but treating them as "service people" and not bonding. It's very very common. Especially in Delhi.

      @@himelsarkar5892 Don't know where but..... mightbe. From Mumbai till South in Kerala, I have (generally among those 50 - 60 odd households I have been to) only seen the maids having an upper hand. In Mumbai they are professional (general) while in South they literally want you to adjust to everything they say.... and people do !
      I mean not normal schedule related at all...... It is like : " Can you give me my salary everyday ? I need 5000 today.... mightbe 2000 tomm..."
      In Kerala it is the situation due to the conglomeration of free funds distributed by the Communists to win elections, so they can keep spoiling people without any work to sit and earn while the local households having old people are severely disadvantaged by this policy as maids *show their upper hand. Also these families are spoiled by American expats who pay huge sums, literally huge in lakhs and millions to make them look after their family. My parents experienced that and initially being very nice, they were taken advantage of as anyone who came to work asked money every single day.
      In Bangalore things can go anyway unless it is someone known to you or has been helping your family over years. Else, issue is with foreign expats again ruining the day.

    My house maid has been there for a long time even before i was born she has seen me grow carried me around and still yells at me till today morning. Guys don't believe everything shown in ads😂 we call anyone we meet even in the streets as bhaiya(brother),chacha(uncle),maaji(mother) as u saw the boy called the woman selling lamps, mother similarly we also treat our house help as a part of family

    • @TheB657
      @TheB657 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      True. Culture is portrayed very differently in ads. That is why many of whom I know from my village, myself all educated lawyers, engineers, doctors, chemists etc. have stopped watching TV..... the set's there but more time is spent amongst ourselves as we used to. In Mumbai, maids were not even called so. They were always "belonged" to the family where they came to work and my Gradndparents and parents and literally "everyone else" in the societies and colonies used to say : "We help them that's all, they are financially a bit challenged"......... That's how the relationship goes.
      Ads ..... I don't know what the popular media is trying to portray ? Indians with a **pseudo-American/western culture ??
      Literally people get afraid watching colleges shown by Bollywood. Those are exaggerated. In normal Universities you will find decent people everywhere. The popular media's a big negative influence on our sanskriti.

    No, almost all maids are treated very well. I offer my maid Tea in the same utensils in which we drink. Also offer her food which is cooked in my home. So that's a one off thing and not representative of the Indian society at large.

      Having seperate utensils cannot be seen as a way of mistreating according to me, main thing is if they are being treated as lower class or something that is a problem because my family is vegetarian, we offer different set of utensils for each of our maids and even when i bring non veg at home sometimes i have to use seperate utensils kept for me and also clean them myself
      Eating in same utensils cannot imply we treat them very well its just like when somebody comes close to you and you pull up your mask, that does not mean someone is dirty or something we're just keeping it safe for both of us
      We have seperate utensils for guests too and yes irrespective of his caste or anything 😂

    Beautiful ads! As always Indian ads are just amazing at capturing the emotion of a festival. Great subbing. As for the ad about the house help. It is becoming less of a norm now and more of a stand out where people treat their maids like this. Its definitely not to do with caste system but class system (money, power and social standing). People who still practice caste system where they discriminate on the basis of it would not employ a maid in the first place! This is not to say it does not happen, but people disrespecting others based on class system happens all over the world, but it shouldn't be acceptable in any way or form!
