    I know it probably sounds difficult having 5 roommates, but a large city can be so isolating. It sounds nice to come home to people you know have got your back :)

      I dont know about that.....I have to deal with my coworkers 8 hours in the day. Coming home I just want to relax and take it slow on my pace, I dont want to be forced talking to someone about my day or putting a front on.

      5 roommates is LITERALLY the dumbest shit I've ever had. My 3200 Sq foot house has 5 bedrooms / 4 bathrooms. I have 0 roommates, no kids, no wife nagging. ALL MINE~

      April Martinez yeah, she's lucky. When I lived with 4 other people, most were guys who never cleaned and the landlord was so lazy to fix the plumbing problems, we all left by 11 months later. One of the most important things when moving into a place with other people is how well you'll get along and respect them.

    Im too obsessed with cleanliness and hygiene and sometimes too irritating about it. If I had to live with someone with low hygiene and cleanliness standards id just die of regret and shock. Lol. U need so much patience and tolerance to share your space with ppl. Kudos to these all. Lolzz

    I live in westchester for 1050 a month (1 bedroom). 5 minutes from the metro north. Can get to 42th street in 20 minutes.

    I remember when Williamsburg had 2 parts. The hood and the Jewish part and highest rent you paid was like 600$ for a 2 bedroom

      Sam moore Right?! My mom’s brother, uncle and cousins are in a rent controlled apartment in Williamsburg and were always the only black people in the building because her uncle was the old super. Now Williamsburg is so different and it feels so hipster whenever I visit. Ugh.

      thats not how a toilet sink works. the water that comes out of the sink is the same water you're getting from the main water supply line as everywhere else in the home. You're not getting water that comes out of the toilet tank, how do you think the tank gets filled?

      Location location location. She gets to live and feel like she’s expensive on a much smaller budget. For her lifestyle and life season, it makes sense. If she were married with children, her viewpoint might change, but I think she considers the location, the company, and the financial freedom it gives her worth it. 💕

      A studio in NYC for $1300? You could still find one in Far Rockaway, Brighton Beach, East New York, Brownsville, ... in other words a long way from Manhattan or an area you wouldn’t want to live/die in.

I lived there, PAST TENSE, I wasn’t there to be an actress but my cousin could be this very girl and after graduating top of her class at a prestigious performing arts college she moved there and after nearly a decade she finally found permanent employment as an usher at new world stages...who puts in broadway shows 😬
      Oh, the irony, her partner who wanted to work for Cirque in Vegas and not touch NYC with a ten foot pole is a sound designer, he had ZERO difficulty finding a well paying consistent job.
      She was full of resentment but ultimately needed his job to keep her ridiculous dream going.
      I don’t know at what point give up their dreams?
      Child birth may do it, who wants a mom as a roommate or to be a mom with a crowd of people??
      Let’s say FORTY.
      I’m forty and unless I married one of the shit for brains bankers I dated no way would I go back to being broke there.
      Nope!!
      Give me the yard and garage and starry skies.
      I will day I miss the food delivery and endless people watching, I miss the opera and vibrancy, but I’m all old and pregnant and the thought of schlepping babies around is TERRIFYING, let alone the cost of child rearing in a city that forces you to be a type A competitive nervous wreck!
      My family bailed long ago and we are happy in the Midwest, seems like we watch someone take off to live their dream every season and we don’t bet on failure or wish anyone ill will, I can just say that most of them return with five years.

    I know this is a late comment, and I don't know if anyone else mentioned this already...check the bottom of your dishwasher for leveling legs. You might be able to tighten the screws and shorten the height of the dishwasher so it fits better.

    I was born and raised in this neighborhood but like many, had to leave because of the unreasonable rent. There are no more families around. Landlords only rent to roomates. Its a shame because we fixed the neighborhood then were 'kicked out'. I saw a post where a man said his neighbor shoots his gun in the air a couple times a month to keep the rent and taxes down lol. You gotta do what you gotta do lol

    $1300/month... My mortgage for a 1000 square foot home 4 blocks from the Pacific Ocean, in Imperial Beach Ca. 7000 square foot yard, minutes from San Diego. Even in pricey SoCal my prop taxes were a fraction of what my baby sister pays on Long Island.
    And the weather is Heavenly!

    I live with 2 friends in a 3 bedroom condo in San Diego, California. I have the master bedroom with an on suite and they have their own rooms with a shared bathroom. We also have 2 parking spots, a garage, in house washer and dryer and a front and back patio! We pay $2400! I couldn’t imagine living with 5 other people and paying that much, but hey it works for them🤷🏻‍♂️😅

      It saves water if you are using it to wash your hands after a flush. It is supposed to be in a water closet or half bath. It actually wastes water if you use it otherwise such as brushing your teeth or other common uses.

    Maybe its just the fact that I'm from Texas so I'm used to everyone owning a house and rent for really nice apartments only being a maximum of $1,800 for 2-3 bedrooms, but WOW, this series really opens my eyes to how people in other states live. It's really interesting. Like here you can get a really nice 3-4 bedroom 3+ bathroom house for $300,000, and the mortgage is just a little under $2,000 a month, the house is located in a well-off neighborhood and you're set. A $639,000 4 bed, 4 bath, 3,033 sqft house here only has a monthly mortgage of $3,292.

    Toilet sink! I was in CT’s women’s prison, YCI, last year and we had a counter from wall to wall, a sink on that counter, a toilet separate from the sink but next to and more shelves above the toilet. I thought I had it bad but you live in a $7500 apartment and have a toilet sink. I feel much better about the bid I did.
