Ive been binge-watching A-aron since the algorithm sent his videos into my feed. Brilliant assessments from a master analyst. I'm a big Webster Tarpley fan and these posts only confirm what I suspected but is dismissed as conspiracy theories. NO, this is the hurtful truth. Bravo.
Props to whoever at Fox11 decided to let this guy present a grounded sense-making (aka historical materialist) reality to a broader American audience inundated by a deluge of mythological delusions and empty platitudes, unsurprisingly only useful to maintaining systemic class domination rather than accurately describe our past, present, and certainly not our future. Great stuff! To crudely summarize since I clearly have nothing better to do: The US has positioned itself as the "consumer of last resort" at the end of the global supply chain to absorb inevitable overproduction of capitalism through cheap consumption or of course through our favorite activity of war/arms sales (military Keynesianism, the only button we can push at this point clearly), launching itself to hegemony post-WWII via imposing the Bretton-Woods international financial system with the US dollar as the "global reserve currency" using the leverage of being the only industrialized nation-state not bombed to ashes and taking the imperial baton from the British and their pound sterling, creating the World Bank and IMF which trap nation-states into dependency relationships to perpetually extract rent and maintain "full spectrum domination" over the global working class for the benefit of transnational corporate/finance capital (maintained by regional oligarchies in subordinated nation-states). As Nixon's treasury secretary John Connally succinctly put it, "The dollar is our currency, but your problem." See: "washington consensus" and its "structural adjustment" policies (hence the emergence of BRICS broadly aligned against this global financial coercion and all that it entails). Actually, reminded of Michael Parenti, an excerpt from his piece Mystery: How Wealth Creates Poverty In The World, _"In their perpetual confusion, some liberal critics conclude that foreign aid and IMF and World Bank structural adjustments “do not work”; the end result is less self-sufficiency and more poverty for the recipient nations, they point out. Why then do the rich member states continue to fund the IMF and World Bank? Are their leaders just less intelligent than the critics who keep pointing out to them that their policies are having the opposite effect?_ _No, it is the critics who are stupid not the western leaders and investors who own so much of the world and enjoy such immense wealth and success. They pursue their aid and foreign loan programs because such programs do work. The question is, work for whom? Cui bono?_ _The purpose behind their investments, loans, and aid programs is not to uplift the masses in other countries. That is certainly not the business they are in. The purpose is to serve the interests of global capital accumulation, to take over the lands and local economies of Third World peoples, monopolize their markets, depress their wages, indenture their labor with enormous debts, privatize their public service sector, and prevent these nations from emerging as trade competitors by not allowing them a normal development._ _In these respects, investments, foreign loans, and structural adjustments work very well indeed._ _The real mystery is: why do some people find such an analysis to be so improbable, a “conspiratorial” imagining? Why are they skeptical that U.S. rulers knowingly and deliberately pursue such ruthless policies (suppress wages, rollback environmental protections, eliminate the public sector, cut human services) in the Third World? These rulers are pursuing much the same policies right here in our own country!_ _Isn’t it time that liberal critics stop thinking that the people who own so much of the world---and want to own it all---are “incompetent” or “misguided” or “failing to see the unintended consequences of their policies”? You are not being very smart when you think your enemies are not as smart as you. They know where their interests lie, and so should we."_ Nuclear apocalypse is the ultimate destination of endless escalation which thanks to the material interests staked in entrenching global bourgeoisie dictatorship over the global working class achieved under the pretext of the "cold" war (not very "cold" when, say, engulfed in napalm...) happens to be the raison d'être of the US natsec state since its inception; the divine right of "the market", a means to no ends... To echo Rosa Luxemburg from interwar Germany, before of course being executed by the freikorps paramilitary (later becoming the SS, shocker) at the behest of Ebert's ostensibly "social democratic" SPD party, almost immediately resonating the truth of such a succinct political dichotomy to this day: Socialism or [continued] barbarism. Pessimism of the intellect, optimism of the will!
Vincent Salandria always thought that it was intended to be an overt message to the American People. In a sense, the men who killed Kennedy were saying, in so many words: 'Yeah, we killed the bastard! What do YOU want to do about it??' The rationale being: 'If we killed him, we can most certainly kill You.' If you look at how politically gullible and misled the American People are, today, I'd say that it's safe to imply that the vast majority of them "got it." They got the message. 🤦♂
“ …Some even believe we are part of a secret cabal working against the best interests of the United States, characterizing my family and me as ‘internationalists’ and of conspiring with others around the world to build a more integrated global political and economic structure - one world, if you will. If that’s the charge, I stand guilty, I am proud of it.” -David Rockefeller
We must be brothers from another mother or something. I don't have a history degree or anything, in fact I'm a college dropout. I have done a fair amount of reading though and I'm fortunate enough to have been turned on to good books and films and stuff many years ago by actual smart people, people smarter than me anyway. But I listen to your stuff and I find myself sitting here constantly nodding my head and saying "yep", "yep", fuck an A you're right on point", through the entire video, and there's not that many people out there, at least not on YT, that I can say that about. Obviously there's the Grear Noam Chomsky and Dr. Wolfe, and all those guys but precious few people in our age group, and I love that know you Michael Parenti, that man is a wealth of critical knowledge, one of the greatest thinkers and researchers of the 20th and 21st centuries, ( hopefully not the last two centuries of human or even world history). I'm going to buy your book too, keep up the amazing work. I just want you to know that you are really appreciated and listening to you makes me feel so much less isolated and alone in my thoughts though I wish I could teach this stuff to everyone i meet. I honestly feel like it would be a much better world if everyone knew this stuff, not that it would solve all of our problems, though I believe that some things would start improving damn near instantaneously while other things may take awhile but at least there would likely be a glimmer of hope finally that we could start turning things around a bit. Unfortunately, we racing in the opposite direction towards a massive and total collapse, and it's sad and isolating knowing there's probably no real way to avoid it or at least soften the blow, people's ears are not tuned to this station, but if they knew it, they would know that it sounds like a freight train racing towards a helpless victim tied up with rope to the train tracks. 🎉
The CIA role in Watergate has fortunately been well documented, along with the efforts of Bob Woodward to keep them out of the story. The Kennedy political machine made sure to focus on Nixon in their relentless crusade to get him out of office.
i only disagree about H.W's reelection : *Ross Perot* and the broken promise of *read my lips : no new taxes* ! were the reasons for him losing as an incumbent. Ann Coulter has talked extensively about this. Voter disappointment and vote splitting (Perot) is a thing. Otherwise like all of your interviews, excellent analysis!
My perspective of the Watergate scandal sadly will be censored because this is a terrible fact free zone. I've tried to spell it all out but that is NOT what this medium (that's clearly in the bag for the repugnants) will allow.
Great presentation Aaron....!! As I watch Trump and Biden political ads during this on YT, I can't help but smile.

Pessimism of the intellect, optimism of the will!
That was an education ❤
Thank you for your brilliant summary
Awesome 🎉
I appreciate your insights. Have you heard Daniel Sheehan speak on the Watergate-JFK assassination linkage? It’s very telling.
Excellent. Thank you.
Yay Aaron!
Aaron is not only well-studied, but understands how to analyse historical data like few others today. 👌
Kennedy's were a message to the others , to not get out of line ..

Vote for me 🏁

How was Nixon pro-labor?
I appreciate most of what you state.
I think the Lewis Powell appointment discredits that idea.
