BEHOLD: Episode 33 (Alma 43-52)

Kristine Haglund, author and scholar of Mormon Studies, joins Book of Mormon Art Catalog director Jenny Champoux. They discuss “Morianton's Maidservant" by Mandy Jane Williams. This episode complements week 33 (Alma 43-52) of the 2024 "Come, Follow Me" Book of Mormon curriculum.

I see her gaze as determined. Maybe Morianton has beaten other maids before but this one is not having it. She knows she has information which will make him pay for what she's done but she has to sneak out of the household and find Moroni and who knows how treats women, so she cannot become a frightened victim. She must remain strong and determined until she finds him and make him listen. The poem was beautiful and emphasizes we are central characters to God.
