This brought back so many good memories I couldn't help but smile the entire time watching this video. I had a Blackfoot, three of my friends had a Blackfoot, and one had a Monster Beetle. We would all go over to the local baseball field and just have fun running them in the dirt much in the same way you were doing.
The Blackfoot is what started my love for Tamiya. coming up to Christmas 1987 I saw a picture of it in my cousins radio control model cars magazine and fell in love with it he had asked for the monster beetle. I begged my mum and dad for it for months leading up to Christmas. Christmas morning came and I opened the big box under the tree and there was The Hornet I was gutted all my friends and cousin had gotten lunchboxes and monster beetles I did grow to love the Hornet though. About 10 years ago I finally got an original NIB Blackfoot it’s now a shelf queen in my office and to this day I’ve still never driven one.

After my last rc car being purchased from beatties back in the early 90's. I have just brought one a blackfoot as a project to build and enjoy with my son. Always wanted a tamiya blackfoot as a kid used to always look at them and the monster beetle as a 11 year old. So childhood memories helped to make the decision. Sure it will bring the memories flooding back.
All my friends had the Blackfoot, so when my dog walking money finally added up to my first hobby RC...it was the Monster Beetle. Watching the Blackfoot and seeing those donut tracks in the dirt brings back so many memories. Thanks for the great video including the wrecks. 😎
Wow, watched it twice. I loved my RC-10 buggy and truck conversion, but Tamiya made that icon Blackfoot which was another winner in my book. I had the Bomerang which also has a special place in my heart. Thanks for this fantastic demo.

What an awesome truck!!! My very first Tamiya kit was the mud blaster way back in the day and this reminds me so much of that, as I said previously I wish they’d re re the mud blaster to complete the Blackfoot, monster beetle and mud blaster trio. There is just something so magical about these classic Tamiya kits that is missing from modern RTR machines. Great video as always and love the Tamiya legends ramp!!!

Please don't break out the violin for what I'm about to say. But after watching these awesome videos I can't help but feel both joy and sadness. Joy because as an rc hobbyist myself I get to share my passion with my son which in fact is the only one out of four boys who loves and appreciates the hobby. Sadness because I get emotional from reading others childhood memories and experiences about how they enjoyed their first hobby grade rc, whatever the brand may have been. Don't get me wrong, I'm not the least bit jealous but I just wish I had such memories just like you all share. Point is, as a kid in the 80's I'm glad I knew nothing of the hobby and I'll tell you why. Even though my dad made good money back then, there's no way he would have bought such an expensive hobby grade rc. Fact is he was cheap and selfish...at least with me 😒... Now, as a grown 50 year old hard working man, I buy myself whatever the hell I want! As in an RC of course. Love your videos keep em coming.

What a little beast! My 2016 Blackfoot is my absolute favorite runner. The ORV chassis is my favorite all-around RC of all time, with the Blackfoot model being the top in my book. I love my scale crawlers and my ballistic bashers, but to me, nothing beats a Saturday in a dirt lot with a Blackfoot.

Absolutely loved this truck growing up and even some as an adult. Time to get it back out of storage. Christmas I got a Tamiya Fox at 13, a Blackfoot at 14, and a Clodbuster at 15. Wanted an Avante at 16 and don't remember what happened as to why I asked for something else that year. Finally get my Avante in 2011 form in about a week(hopefully...Ebay). Finally after 30 years.

I had this truck also as a kid. I don’t know what I ever did with it... probably in a landfill somewhere. I wish I had kept all the rc’s I had growing up. It would be a nice collection... Thanks for the video!!!
It was my first Tamiya model. Absolutely loved it. Some friends preferred the M. Beetle but I just adored the look of this truck. It’s a shame that Tamiya lost some agreements as I liked the Ford emblems on the original. I now have a Blackfoot III, heavily modded and it’s a lot of fun.
Loved it. They are so well geared these ORV’s. Runs great on 2S and the silver can. Uhh, after seeing this I want to take my Monster Beetle out ... and build a Blackfoot and take that one out too 😁

I have been watching a couple of your videos now and enjoyed every one. I had a hornet back in the day which my dad and I built from scratch (definitely more my dad😁) and i thrashed the daylights out of it. Not really realising or appreciating what I had but it definitely left lasting impression on me. I am now 47 and i had a nostalgic moment and I have decided to get another rc car just for a bit of fun and who knows it might spark into a bit of a hobby the only trouble is that I didn't realise tamiya had so my model verifications and I am struggling to make my mind up

I love this Blackfoot! But I love all Tamiyas equally the same 😉 I've built enough now where when I see one roll over.....I cringe😪 I know how much work goes into these.....but that's what there all about.....build'em, and drive'em! Great video!
This was actually my very first vehicle from them... I'm glad they switched out the dog bone situation in the rear. I stripped them so many times. I think you commented on my post on Instagram with my monster beetle. I will be acquiring the grasshopper again, hornet, frog, midnight pumpkin, lunch box, Hot shot, just to name a few.... And I have to have the Blackfoot again
I have a soft spot for these, my first hobby grade rc was a Blackfoot on the first release, I still own it along with several others now. Great running video Glenn. I also have a rare TrackMaster belt drive and Thorp Ball diff with telescoping drive shafts fitted on a couple of them. Well that is indeed an epic looking truck ! It's always slightly painful to watch a hard bodied Tamiya RC landing in it's roof but it seems to have survived! Now judging by your clothes, you either did this a while ago or you are much tougher than me. It's November ! I've got long trousers and a fleece on and I'm indoors ! Cheers mate :-)
At the age of 12 I use to go to bed with the Tamiya catalogue and dream about owning a Boomerang, Hotshot, Frog, Fox. Unfortunately my family could only afford to get me the Grasshopper, which I still loved to death, now I'm 47 and own lots of Tamiya cars, how lucky I am that the boy in me never grow up to be boring and serious.
I had the original Blackfoot a long time ago. I always had problems with the original half shafts. The basically just stripped out. I got the Thorp dog bones and differential and the truck was fantastic .This was my favorite truck after this upgrade. The re-release of the Blackfoot now has a dog bone set-up. I bet this is going to be a good idea too. I just wished that Tamiya kept the original "Ford" logos in the re-released Blackfoot truck.
WOW it sounds exactly as I thought it would, is that weird? My first hobby grade was a (1986) Blackfoot! Still have it and it still runs but needs electronics upgrade! I actually changed out the backend to a Blackfoot 3 rear end. Awesome video man!
My dad bought me a rc monster truck when I was 7 or 8 and just found out 25 years later it was a black foot. I still have it and need to restore it. But I also bought the 2016 model so now I have both
Did you ever build that Stadium Blitzer truck? I loved mine back in the day. I upgraded it with Team Associated shocks and springs, a Reedy 10 turn modified motor, ball bearing’s CVD’s, proline tires and a Reedy Speed control. It was unbeatable on the track and in my neighborhood. Super easy to drive.
Blackfoot was my first tamiya back in 89 followed by the super Sabre……now over 30 years later I got a rerelease Blackfoot, a super Blackfoot , rerelease grasshopper and rerelease grasshopper II…….Blackfoot is my favorite tamiya truck hands down……wish they would rerelease the super Sabre

I am now 47 and i had a nostalgic moment and I have decided to get another rc car just for a bit of fun and who knows it might spark into a bit of a hobby the only trouble is that I didn't realise tamiya had so my model verifications and I am struggling to make my mind up

I love this Blackfoot! But I love all Tamiyas equally the same 😉 I've built enough now where when I see one roll over.....I cringe😪 I know how much work goes into these.....but that's what there all about.....build'em, and drive'em! Great video!

This was actually my very first vehicle from them... I'm glad they switched out the dog bone situation in the rear. I stripped them so many times. I think you commented on my post on Instagram with my monster beetle. I will be acquiring the grasshopper again, hornet, frog, midnight pumpkin, lunch box, Hot shot, just to name a few.... And I have to have the Blackfoot again

I have a soft spot for these, my first hobby grade rc was a Blackfoot on the first release, I still own it along with several others now. Great running video Glenn. I also have a rare TrackMaster belt drive and Thorp Ball diff with telescoping drive shafts fitted on a couple of them. Well that is indeed an epic looking truck ! It's always slightly painful to watch a hard bodied Tamiya RC landing in it's roof but it seems to have survived! Now judging by your clothes, you either did this a while ago or you are much tougher than me. It's November ! I've got long trousers and a fleece on and I'm indoors ! Cheers mate :-)

At the age of 12 I use to go to bed with the Tamiya catalogue and dream about owning a Boomerang, Hotshot, Frog, Fox. Unfortunately my family could only afford to get me the Grasshopper, which I still loved to death, now I'm 47 and own lots of Tamiya cars, how lucky I am that the boy in me never grow up to be boring and serious.

I had the original Blackfoot a long time ago. I always had problems with the original half shafts. The basically just stripped out. I got the Thorp dog bones and differential and the truck was fantastic .This was my favorite truck after this upgrade. The re-release of the Blackfoot now has a dog bone set-up. I bet this is going to be a good idea too. I just wished that Tamiya kept the original "Ford" logos in the re-released Blackfoot truck.

WOW it sounds exactly as I thought it would, is that weird? My first hobby grade was a (1986) Blackfoot! Still have it and it still runs but needs electronics upgrade! I actually changed out the backend to a Blackfoot 3 rear end. Awesome video man!

If you haven't got the uprated diff in I find it has near catastrophic understeer.
Uprated tires are a must.
They help alot .
My dad bought me a rc monster truck when I was 7 or 8 and just found out 25 years later it was a black foot. I still have it and need to restore it. But I also bought the 2016 model so now I have both

Did you ever build that Stadium Blitzer truck? I loved mine back in the day. I upgraded it with Team Associated shocks and springs, a Reedy 10 turn modified motor, ball bearing’s CVD’s, proline tires and a Reedy Speed control. It was unbeatable on the track and in my neighborhood. Super easy to drive.

Blackfoot was my first tamiya back in 89 followed by the super Sabre……now over 30 years later I got a rerelease Blackfoot, a super Blackfoot , rerelease grasshopper and rerelease grasshopper II…….Blackfoot is my favorite tamiya truck hands down……wish they would rerelease the super Sabre
