- Today’s Bears Training Camp practice is in the books and the MVP was CB Kyler Gordon. Gordon picked off Bears’ rookie QB Caleb Williams twice, once for a pick-6 and another on a tip-drill. This comes after Gordon’s strong performance in the Bears preseason win over the Bengals. Is Gordon poised for a breakout season in 2024? Also, Caleb Williams threw 3 touchdowns to Keenan Allen in today’s practice. Allen has been under fire from NFL Film analyst JT O’Sullivan and others who have called him slow and out of shape in the NFL Preseason. Allen has almost always. Come into camp 10-15 lbs heavier. He practices his way into shape. He gives his body a major break in offseason.

Maybe that added 15-10 pounds during train camp puts to much stress on his knees and ankles cause he always seemed to get hurt for the chargers

Yeah I remember seeing this in the past few offseasons that he’s gained 10-15 pounds. Some people just play their weight off, im not overreacting to this.

I’m not concerned about Keenan Allen, because
1)he’s a veteran probably taking it easy in the preseason,
2) I think Rome will eventually be WR2 and
3) Keenan in the Slot as a WR3 is still going to get open, slower or not

Keenan has been slow the past couple seasons. I remember seeing some of his highlights when we first traded for him, and he looked a little slow almost the whole time. He gets open because he has elite route running
Allen is a veteran. Im sure he is just going through the motions out there. He's not going to risk injury by going all out in pre season.

Keenan is vet that is probably a 1 year rental for us. Even if I was concerned, there is definitely a ceiling about how concerned it would be. DJ and Rome are the receivers I’m much more interested in how they play with Caleb this year. Those are the guys we will be trying to win a title with during Caleb’s rookie contract.
This Caleb Williams hype is getting out of control. NOBODY takes the preseason anything past face value. You get to work on timing, conditioning and snaps, yes but beyond that its not much. I get it. We have not had a franchise QB so some Bears fans are thirsty. But Just like Keenan Allen is overweight and nobody is comcerned because......Preseason is not that serious, Calm down on this hype about Caleb Williams. Looks promising, yes. But remember, we are still the Chicago Bears.

What else would his teammates say bout him...and you don't earn ur teams respect til the real bullets fly..when he's been sacked 7 times going Into 4q had a bad int or 2..down by 14..see how well he bouces back and rallies the troops..cuz some guys will throw in the towel at that point...that's when respect is earned..

if keenan takes a step back (i dont think he will), that just means rome will step up earlier than expected.
I think he gained weight and is losing some to gain strength for his body. Mma fighter do it all the time . Hes not a speedster he is amazing route runner to get open on big 3rd downs. I think we have 3 very diffrent starters at wr. But our back ups bring diffrent styles also. Just our running backs id rather very different styles then all the same js.

Preseason matters. Its not the only thing that matters, but it shows us a glimpse of how they play. I think saying “who cares its just preseason” is pretty dumb

@@DROPOUTCRIS Preseason matters to see who you're keeping on your team like backups, but you can't be too critical of the starters. You don't put much stock in the numbers but it's just a taste of what they might do. But you f a player is not playing well everyone freaks out. I judge players by what they do the first 5-7 games of the season.
The Bengals didn't play a single starter, people do realize that, right?
