At about 15:30 into the video, there were two options, and the rest of the video showed that following the first option led to a factory reset? What about following the 2nd option (pressing the Green key 7 times)? Maybe that restarts with the user seetings intact.

Hello G2 owner here. I have a service remote and previously had TPC and GSR settings off wanted to turn off dimming. Made the same mistake as you did at the end of your video went to double check and now both of those settings always reset to ON. 😭 can’t kick the tv out of factory mode without them reverting back.

Just receive my c3 42” for monitor computer usage.
      First thing update firmware.
Now the brightness reduces in Windows destroy my desktop usage experience and i can’t access the service menu🤦‍♂️😂
My b9 with TPC and GSR disabled is 1000x better to usage desktop…

I literally cut the in-stop button out of my service remote lol. It will NEVER be pressed 😅
The thing with in-stop is, it resets factory white balance values within the Service Menu, which causes a NG (Not Good) code in the service menu.
I know this, bc it happened on my CX. It actually happened twice. Once when the main board was replaced and the tech performed in-stop, and second when I did it just for the hell of it (to see what happens for myself). Let’s just say, won’t ever do that again lol.
So keep that in mind folks… you won’t just be factory resetting the TV with in-stop…. You will also be throwing a red flag in the system, and literally marking your TV as being F’d with.
I now also have a C2. Was PISSED when I updated and lost service menu access. Tbh, it might make my go another TV brand next time. It just left a bad taste in my mouth, when they locked down my TV, bc I did have GSR and TPC disabled prior to the update.
I have no issues with dimming tho, so I’m on the same page as you, in thinking it’s already disabled. I have a keen eye for seeing such issues, and it bothered me before the update and me disabling TPC/GSR in the server menu… so I’m saying the dimming on the C2/G2 is basically a non issue. Still, I like having control of my technology. If I wanna disable something, I should be allowed to do so. Especially if it was something I could do before, and no longer can. Just wrong…

I don't understand this video. Did your TV dim down the brightness randomly or it didn't ? If it didn't, why did you want to go in the service menu at all, there was nothing to fix. If it did the unwanted dimming down, and then you went to the service menu and then you found TCP Enable = Off , then how did you fix dimming? You said "it wasn't even necessary because if was Off already" - OK, but it's necessary to do something if it keeps dimming. How is that ? My TV keeps dimming, should I go to the service menu OLED to disable TCP?

What model is your LG service remote?

Did the update, got into service menu and they are all turned ON (C2 55inch). When I turn off it works, but quickly resets next time the monitor is restarted. Its a freaking joke, totally unusable as (dual) monitors.

I can access service menus on most tvs, including my LG tvs with my old Logitech Harmony 650 remote easily. I have an LG 50" 50UQ7570PUJ US model and i want to enable recording ATSC/antenna programming to a USB drive. Im pretty sure it can be done somehow, om just afraid ill screw it up. I think the secret lies in ToolOPT6 country code number. Need to change it to a mexican model code or somewhere you are allowed to record to USB from the TV itself.

Hmm. So is there any reason not to update if tpc and gsr are off by default in the the new firmware?

    • @Quik_Sand_TV
      @Quik_Sand_TV  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

It depends on your use case. For example, there are comments on my other videos with people saying their picture modes were blocked (game dashboard).

Yes, theres always a risk with the new updates. But relating to this dimming issue, would it be even better now to update if you will get these dimming settings off without having to access the service menu? Or is there something im missing?
