A meeting of minds: AKU-EB’s symbiotic relationship with Korangi Academy

The Aga Khan University Examination Board (AKU-EB) is proud to share videos featuring Korangi Academy, a school located in Ibrahim Hyderi, Karachi. Similar to AKU-EB’s mission to provide high quality education to lower and middle income households across Pakistan, the Korangi Academy serves underprivileged communities in nearby areas who would otherwise be unable to access the facilities that it offers.
In this video, Principal Asma Nasir recalls that the school’s teachers can trace their own educational backgrounds to the use of a more traditional model that did not place an emphasis on critical thought or analysis. To ensure that they were still able to impart conceptual learning to their students, says Ms Nasir, AKU-EB’s teacher and school support facilities provided invaluable assistance towards the entire school faculty’s capacity development. In this way, AKU-EB has not only helped provide quality education for Korangi Academy’s students but actively enhanced the quality of teaching offered by it.
