One of my very favorite authors ,Katherine Ann Porter, wrote 'Noon Wine' in 1937 and I look forward to watching it on film from a great Director once again working with great actors for the story. Thanks for bringing it here.
Btw check out another short story from Porter called "He", which was set during the Depression. A lot of talent is needed to craft such a powerful story in only ten or eleven pages that finds you quietly setting the book down with a feeling you didn't just read a masterpiece, you saw it and felt it.

Beautiful composing from a natural-born wordsmith. What a lovely portrait you've painted! TY!!! You have imparted a deep respect (& fear!) within me for this author, whom I was totally clueless about. Wonder if "He" was ever made into a movie, too.
I'm two weeks late for being in the mood to watch this film (stalwart Viking mood) ... had a feeling it would engulf me - tend to be a runaway from things that may capture me. Your comm pretty much just told me that my intuition was right: this film is probably going to envelope me.🤯
Yet, now I also know I'll luvvv this movie E-VON more than I initially thought I would. Scary thanks!!! (Not kidding.) Have a Blessed evening.
Thank you & Bless you, too🍕❣

all these great old productions with great actors represent one generation after another dealing with trauma, war after war after war, trauma gets passed down. So very sad. God Bless the Silent Generation who had no way to heal, they worked sunup to sundown, and turns out, that helped them with their trauma.

Thanks for uploading a decent quality version in the original colour format! A sadly forgotten gem from Sam Peckinpah with one of his best ever scripts.

💖 ~ 😯😥😔 Um ... was not expecting that ending ... . I'm from North Dakota with ¼ Swedish blood, so the connection was cool, at first. Fell asleep stunned by this well-written, disturbing story trying to comm with breakfast-lunch-dinner unfinished. Can't convey, still. 👍✌🤙

According to a small documentary on Sam Peckinpah. th-cam.com/video/m35RbwNN0tQ/w-d-xo.html @ 7:05
They mention noon wine and this shot in particular. Olivia wasnt giving a good reaction so Sam told the cameraman to keep the film going after he said cut. He said cut and started talking down to Olivia saying "you're the worst goddamn actress, how the hell do you have the reputation.

Have seen docs about Mr Peckinpah in which this play was mentioned so I watched it as soon as I saw it. Not exactly a happy story. But it was rare by a great Director with a steller cast.

Is so be long I apologize... Whoever put this up thank you I was 11 years old when this was on TV
    I'm 68 years of age
    I am paranoid schizophrenic
    So was my mother
This storage so much in me
In one way I wish the whole world could watch this
The one thing I do know is
    The word mad
    And the word mad
And the reason people like me and up in psychiatric wards
    Is usually rage
But with my illness it starts with total delusion
    Either way
There is something to be said about nurture & nature
I wear my illness now on my sleeve
I was hospitalized probably 7 times by age 35 and I didn't even have a mental illness I was in such effing denial I didn't want to be my mother and I didn't want to be alone
And lunatics are left alone we're putting a psych prison
Anyway my daughter visited me when she was 11 ironically
(The iron of the ironic is the wood number 11)\
My point is I was 35
And something about my daughter who is the greatest daughter in the world she became a teacher for special ed and honor of her grandmother my mother and me
She died of ovarian cancer recently the last few years he would have been 45 the same age my father died this past May 12th, 2023
getting back to nurture & nature of the greatest father in the world I was raised an orthodox Jew and then we became conservative Jews
    My dad was an immigrant
I will never have a greater hero my father never yelled at me my father said I was as good as my brother and in this world I'm not good for a lot of things
My dad had the inside after our doctor said you're not going to get lucky again meaning choose choose choose the number one mental illness for Jews Jews is thought disorders is psychosis too much inbreeding maybe I don't know I don't really care that's not my point my point is we have a high volume of paranoid schizophrenia
My dad hired Elizabeth who became my mommy and my mother and my mom 5 days a week
And between my dad was an encourager a cheerleader of sorts who owned his own business who was amazing who is love to everyone
My dad told me I could find God in any religion and that was unheard of for an orthodox Jew my great-grandfather was a rabbi
And Elizabeth might as well have been mother Teresa coming from the worst section of New Jersey the Newark New Jersey projects
My point is I got more than most people like meeven though after my dad died and my mother was horrible and at the time my stepfather's 36 nine years younger than my mother never married no children a marine sergeant and I'm out of my f****** mind excuse my language
My brother approximately 10 years older is Mia of my life but working very hard to keep my daddy's store
My mother and stepfather because I went 6schools I do not have a GED six the number six schools plus I went to yeshiva
The only one who could tutor me was my dad
So my mother and stepfather hire someone from the summer camp my mother made sure I went to nine weeks she didn't want to see me she always said she wished she had never listen to my father and had boarded me
Abortion my mother wished she had aborted me
Well they hire someone who ended up becoming a camp counselor his name Mike kennis from Fair lawn New Jersey
This man went on he was a Sim swim destructor what a bright Freudian slip nevertheless he showed up he became a principal of a school I knew he was f****** other boys including me a camp
Everybody knew I was special ed weird
    And this f****** goddamn predator
    In New Jersey
To become my tutor to teach me to read he f***** me for 2 years
    X15 I run away from
Sorry I don't know who reads these this is open journaling I'm sorry
    The flipside of my life
If you Google turn a frown around. Org
Or Drew horn 2013 voice award acceptance speech
I have been compared to John Nash in the movie A Beautiful mind
after my father the heroes Doctor Martin Luther King jr. Mother Teresa the real Hunter patch Adams that the movie patch Adams was made by and Robin Williams played Hunter patch Adams
Also Jerry Lewis who took his talent and his craziness and his insanity and decided to dedicate to the Labor Day telethon
This is getting back to nurture
    This crazy guy supposedly
Living three years with nurturing loving people
    But really by himself
Which is the best way for people like us
Anyway this movie is stirred so much
I am not lying I have done over 2000 shows or presentations over 15 year. Mostly and institutions of isolation like nursing homes in psychiatric wards and homeless shelters excetera excetera excetera
I want to do something of magnitude because it's a miracle I'm alive now I live in HUD housing which is horrible for people like me I live below the poverty level baba blah blah blah
I want to do what I want to call friends with on Friends on friends on
    FRIEND A TH🫂N
THE IDEAS ARE OVER 26,000 NURSING HOMES IN AMERICA AND I PROMISE YOU I HAVE A PHD IN GRANDMA AND GRANDPA THAT'S A JOKE BUT THAT'S WHAT I DEDICATED MY LIFE TO IF YOU GOOGLE TURN AROUND AROUND. ORG ANYTHING THAT SAYS DREW HORN OR SCREWY DREWY
SO I WANT TO DO A PODCAST NO MONEY NO JUST A GROOVY GROOVY PG
ULTIMATELY WE DO A SEARCH AND RESCUE OF ALL THESE NURSING HOMES AND WE MAKE SURE WE FIND THE PEOPLE THAT HAVE NO FRIENDS WARDS OF THE STATE FORGOTTEN BY THEIR FAMILY THROWN AWAY AND WE GET THEM AT ONE FRIEND AND THAT'S WHAT I AM CONSTANTLY ASKING AND BETWEEN ALL THE FUN AND THE MUSIC AND THE CHALLENGE OF THIS PODCAST I WANT YOU TO CALL YOUR LOCAL NURSING HOME THE ONE CLOSEST TO YOU TALK TO THE ACTIVITIES DIRECTOR AND ADOPT ONE GRANDMA OR GRANDPA VISIT ONCE A WEEK NO MONEY NO MONEY YOU DON'T HAVE TO TAKE HIM OUT BUT YOU KEEP VISITING THEM UNTIL THEY DIE OR YOU DIE AND IT WILL BE MAGIC
AND I PROMISE YOU AMERICA WILL BE BETTER FOR IT
SO HOW COULD SOMEONE THAT HAS BEEN SO SICK AND EVIL HAVE SUCH A TENDER LOVING IDEA BECAUSE OF NURTURING BECAUSE I KNOW WHAT NON-JUDGMENTAL UPLIFTING UNCONDITIONAL LOVE IS AND MOST PEOPLE LIKE ME ARE TREATED LIKE THE SCOURGES OF THE EARTH LIKE THIS MOVIE LETS GO GET THE LUNATIC
WHEN I USED TO DO MENTAL HEALTH SHOWS AND I DID MANY I WOULD ALWAYS HAVE EVERYONE CHANCE OF FOLLOWING
    CHANT
    I HAVE AN ILLNESS
    I AM NOT MY ILLNESS
IN NURSING HOMES I WOULD HAVE THEM CHANT THE FOLLOWING
    I USE A WHEELCHAIR
    I AM NOT A WHEELCHAIR

I believe it was meant to flow from him at that time & in this venue, in order to be read & understood by someone else in dire straits - maybe many people around the world ... . Sadly, we live in disturbing times. On a positive note, he's urging everyone to help the elderly.💝 He needs our prayers.👍✌🤙
