I used to have a harmony cartridge when I still had my Atari 2600. It never let me down and I got to play the games I never saw anywhere else, and some great homebrew too 🙂
Same! I have all my carts stacked and its a pain to get the bottom ones and still keep everything straight and not fall

I own that harmony cartride for just a year and i got to say it’s an amezing flashcard,the builtin 70 mhz processor inside is responsible for doing intensive stuff such as bankswitching and presumibly rendering backgrounds & extra sprites and it then should render it’s generated graphics as a background layer to the 2600 to get around that flicker problem.

Dang, I need that galagon rom. I got the cart and rom a while ago but for what ever reason I can't find the rom anymore :(
ALWAYS turn the enemy blue before you let it capture you. Never try to hit it twice with your ship in tow.

@@HippoBytes The other fun thing you can do is just wildly shoot as your ship is being pulled up in the tractor beam. You will fire in whatever direction your ship is facing as it spins up the tractor beam. You may shoot the enemy and turn it blue. But you also can clear out some of the other enemies with some lucky diagonal shots. Of course, you only do this is the one pulling you in is green, otherwise you risk hitting it and freeing yourself, forcing you to have to hope another ship will try to pull you in in the level. This is especially risky if you are in the last stage before a challenging state. Don't want to risk having only one ship for them.

Sad to hear that the real thing from 1977 supports as many (home-brew) games as you'd like on one single cartridge but the 2023 one needs obsolete 2nd hand 40 year old unobtainable cartridges. The Commodore 64 and Amiga Mini's work differently.
The Atari Flashback X has an SD slot where you can do the same, also 😃😃

@@HippoBytes Well, kinda, as you can download the entire Atari 2600 library. However, not every homebrew game works, as it's running emulation that's not completely compatible with all homebrews. It is a good solution for around £70
But does the chip shape and prongs fit in a 7800? Because many cartridges for 2600 & 7800 LOOKED the same but actually didn't have the same chip/prongs.

Im just catching up to all these new methods of utilizing Atari games.its really great, I need to get one of these as I like a lot of the new Atari games and homebrews.
I've still been buying some original carts when I see them cheap and even 2600 games I've never heard of! Which is wild that I'm finding out about games I've never seen in shops back in the old days in my area. But the Stella thing is all new to me also, and I'm just figuring that stuff out to use. But I just don't have enough time in the day. Maybe I'll get some free time to work on collecting a bunch of these new games. A lot of these are just amazing on a 2600.
I was really into Adventure!,it was one of my first carts as a kid.
Its wild that guys have made new variations on it and even kinda glammed it up a bit differently.
I just bought a original Venture cart that was a good deal, but also was helping someone's family out,as the collector had passed away from health problem. He was a game programmer.
So its weird, I had moved on years ago to play stations and then got a GameCube, but after quite a few years of quitting gaming pretty much other than playing with my uncles original Atari 400, as he had a ton of games on discs for it.
Anyway, weird that ive gotten back into games more and here I'm back where I started with the 2600 again. Lol
I was pretty much just collecting arcade classics ports discs for my PlayStation and gamecube, as it was awesome to be able to play some of my fave arcade games at home and not have to spend a pile of quarters, but the games look and behave almost exact to the original cabinet units, or at least close enough.
Playing Sinistar again and Joust on a modern console that were so exact blew my mind.
I wish I could find a really good version of Star Castle or Rip Off.,but I don't think anyone has those unless there is a Vectrex (sp?)emulator that's really good.
So im just learning about and getting into the emulator devices that allow ya to access multiple consoles games, ones that I will never be able to buy all the original systems as its just too expensive.

We don’t know how the emulator for the 2600+ works yet. I am on the betting side it will.
There are two listings for the Harmony. One is the Cartridge, and the other is Harmony Encore. Which is which?

No but look at my video on how to get all the Atari games on a pc and you can get the files from the site me too es there. And there are lots of homebrews you can download on Atari Age.

Hi i just ordered an Atari 2600 Jr edition. I hope that flashcart would be compatible with my console. Also you haven't showed us what files must be copied to sd card and what rom files, .bin or .a26 and where to copy them? Thanks in advance!!!
is there a possibitly to Devs Build the "Largest Atari vcs homebrew Game of all time?",a sorta of 32MB game?
Probably - a lot of developers extended the memory a bit to expand gaming possibilities but most keep it strictly low to be true to the system and its a challenge in itself.

You have to install but it's real easy to do. As easy as putting files on a USB drive.
