- Dia Mirza is undoubtedly one of the strongest women from the industry. A class actress, a beauty pageant winner and a humanitarian, Dia dons several hats with equal aplomb. But her journey so far hasn't been just easy and smooth. While her parents separated when we were young, she tackled several social taboos from the very beginning. She reveals that both sets of parents taught her to be independent and rise above societal pressures. In this conversation on Woman Up, she also opens about the blatant sexism that she had to face as a heroine, the kind of ridiculous rejections that she battled right at the start of her career and also discussed how people's behavior around her changed post her separation from her husband. Mukul Dube she didn’t say it was a bad colour. I have always disliked it, thinking it was something that frivolous women wore or preferred. Then she told me that society makes it seem like pink is to be associated with “girly girls”..that serious women don’t like pink and whatnot. She is right. It’s a beautiful colour. Funnily, after she pointed that out, my affinity with the colour ceased to be. Did you know there are more than 150 types of roses??

Sushmita sen and Diya Mirza are the two women from entertainment industry I find inspiring. Their voice, tone, volume, knowledge, body language, grace..... is refreshing.

This boy has warmed up to me, in start i was like why him? he is kinda young and inexperienced to deal with celebs. But now i can understand why he is the chosen one as he is respectful and makes his guests comfortable 👍🏻.

As sensible individuals we need to bring balance in maturity levels and care free attitude towards life. She looks tired traveller. Dia has been an ambassador for clean and healthy living and nature protection even before she became a popular name in Bollywood, and much before such movements started gaining momentum in Indian polity. It takes a lot of courage to stay firm on idealistic principles of life and career especially after a painful breakup or divorce. I used to love her documentaries based on spirituality and the river Ganges. She is awesome. ☺️

Sir, this is the biggest reason why we had a male host. To make sure there's gender fluidity. The women we have got are touching topics where they speak about equality and not one upmanship, like most men have always called out for. So yes, this show needed and deserved a male host because some male hosts don't think like an alpha ego boosted Indian male but they think of women like equals. Sadly that's a rarity though.
