Nice comparison! I see Iga taking another clay title today. Let’s go!
Sabalenka is playing hungry but beating Iga on clay will be tough. But I think you are right.
Barty on her prime days and Swiatek now comparison. Swiatek is far much better
I think you are right. Maybe I’ll make that comparison.
Let’s see if iga can catch Graf 6 & Evert 7 grand slams at Roland Garros. Those achievements are pretty amazing 🤩
We shall see
Iga’s had a nice clay run, like Steffi Graf, Seles, maybe Justine Henin. But Evert’s untouchable in clay achievements, by ANYONE. She once went 197-1 on clay, 125 in a row, over 9 seasons. It’s best to just not count Chris Evert’s clay court stats. She’s from a completely different era
@@TheDeadlyKnightall this despite the fact she sat out (of the french open) for 3 years 76-77-78 (i think) because of world team tennis.

Wow.
If Evert had 20, 21 Slams, her career would be less (I think) underrated in achievements
If Iga win next 5-6 Roland Garros slams she will be historic clay queen, everything possible for her. Now is queen of clay from atm playing players but still cant compete Evert or Graff or Navratilova
Folks. Evert also won all 3 of the US Opens that were held on clay. This is perhaps here most significant accomplishment outside RG.
Evert has ten slams on clay.
Tank’s Tom Tennis 🎾
It's too early to draw such comparisons if we based them purely on number of GS titles. At present, Iga is doing what Chris Evert and other stars you've mentioned done during their respective eras, dominating clay. Hence she can be called Queen of clay of 2020's so far.
Haha totally 💯 Chris Evert achieved some milestones that may never be reached like winning 125 straight matches on clay. That feat is absurd!!
The Queens of Clay are Really Cool 🦊 😎
Yes they are
Evert is a legend, a feminine lady, Iga needs another 5 years to begin the comparison.
Yup yup agreed 👍🏼
Iga may have 4 RG soon - in just the age of 23.
The argument should be for "queen of RG" or "Queen of clay court slams" not the "Queen of clay", because in that regard no one weill ever match Evert, not even Nadal in tennis match some of her most impressive clay court stats! You don't just become clay court queen suddenly by doing nothing, but winning French Opens, you have to have an overall well rounded resume on the entire surface all accross the board, this includes overal match wins, h2h records vs the field, win percentage, strike rate (for those who are not familiar with the term it's how many tournaments won versus just entered...), winning streaks, competition level, personal peak level, smaller titles outside of clay slams including 2nd most prestigious after grand slam level in Iga's cases those are WTA1000 masters events in Rome and Madrid, clay titles overal in general all of these together make complete picture! In that regard nobody ever matches Evert, just forget about it! If Nadal couldn't surpass her 70 clay court titles, lagging behind with 63 nobody else can then!
Great points and well said, Evert dominated the clay like nobody else.
Don't forget- the US Open was played on clay 1975-1977- Chris won all 3 of those- giving 10 majors on clay. plus- she skipped the French Open 1976-1978 to play World Team Tennis- at the time, WTT was bigger and more important to tennis than the French was. Players had $100,000 contracts to play for a team- A Lot back then- considerably more than the French paid- the winner got around $5,000 back then (30,000 ff). Chris' 125 match streak has never been approached by anyone. I give it to Iga one day- IF she wins 10 French and has a streak over 100.
Good point! Chris Evert was quite amazing!!
CHRIS EVERT HANDS DOWN! Too many records on clay in different areas: Her 125 straight wins on clay and then started another streak finishing at I think 181-2 never will be challenged!
Yup 👍🏼 she was total dominate in clay!
Evert - not Ev er ett. How difficult is it to learn the name of the person featured in your video? 🙄🙄
Thanks for watching
YES very annoying mispronouncing her name! EVERT NOT EVERETT!!
@@markwhitman9029 It’s one of the most annoying mispronunciations because Ev er ett very clearly requires extra letters. It’s not like potato vs potato, am I right? 😬😬
I wonder what the match would be like if Barty and Swiatek met on clay.
That would’ve been quite the matchup. Swiatek is on fire!
Barty retired to early. But since she retired there's no question who's the best - of course active tennis players. Iga doesn't look bored with tennis so we can expect more interesting fights with her opponents.
You’re right about Iga looking hungry!!
iga swiatek is the queen
She’s making a run at it!
- Chris Evert is the Queen of Clay until dethroned!
- Evert has 7 FO titles to Swiatek’s 3.
- Evert won 70 titles on Clay. Rafa, the King of Clay, has won 63 titles on Clay.
- Evert won 94.5% of all her matches on clay courts! Rafa won 91.0% of all his matches on clay courts!
Iga is now 22 y/o...
I agree ☝🏼 but Swiatek has won 3 out of 4 if she wins her 4th at just 22 then she’s got a shot at Everts 7.
@@TennisTenacity-cq7dg Swiatek needs 5 more FO titles to surpass Evert. Even then she needs to surpass Evert’s record in total titles on clay to be called the Queen of Clay.
@@TennisTenacity-cq7dg She won't, her birthday is on May 31, final of RG will be in June. Your statement makes no sense.
@@TennisTenacity-cq7dgAnd Prince Charles “had a shot” at being King for many years.
Graf has 6, Henin4 Iva -3Evert 7 and Chris didn’t play 76,77,78 when no onestood a chance to win French Evert playe d world team tennis instead of French those 3 years.
💯
Iga of course.
She’s making a run.
Not even close
It’s too soon to even mention Igas name with Everts. Say her name right. It’s not Everett it’s one syllable Evert.
It is not too soon. If Iga wins the French Open this year then it will be 4 in 5 years!
Iga will never dethrone Evert as true queen of clay, forget about it! It won't happen! Can she become 2nd best after her? I think so yes, it's possible...her realistic target should be Steffi Graf with beatable stats and achievements on clay accross the board, now hers are to pursuit, as for Evert, i don't recommend to even bother...it's a lost cause...
Evert's clay dominance is unprecedented!
This video is unwatchable because Chris' name is mispronounced throughout. It's Evert (E-vert). NOT Ev-rett. If the video is going to be about someone, then get that name right for heaven's sake.
Thanks for watching Jim 💙
Haha 😂
@@TennisTenacity-cq7dgHa ha? What’s funny?
she's only 22-23... give her some time - duh?
Is it that obvious 🙄
Graf and Henin, at the moment, are better than Swiatek. She doesn’t come close to Evert. Swiatek might end up being the queen of clay, but first she needs to pass Graf and Henin. 🤦♂️🤦♂️
She’s well on her way for a 23yo
Mais t'es vraiment nulle ? Ferme ta bouche. Berk
Long live the Queen
Chrissy was the best!!
Chrissy dominance on clay is remarkable!
Chrissy was and still is the queen of clay but watch out for Iga she’s only 22 and has already won 3 French Open titles.
