    Dannnngggg! When I first saw the tree I thought you were gonna get rid of that whole half and just leave that part on the right to make an acceptable bonsai. What you did was FAR better, and took advantage of the whole tree. Love it!

    Finding a bonsai hidden in a problematic plat in the garden is a dream for us all. Thanks for keeping it alive, and showing how to approach it!

    _THANK YOU_ ... 🙏 😔 🙏
    Dr. Chan, this was indeed a challenge. It is going to be very interesting to see this tree as time passes. This tree seems to be very prolific and it will fill in in no time.
    Speaking of prolific, you guys have been quite busy this year. It is as if you are releasing several videos per week. Thank you for showing so many joys of Bonsai.
    This was quite a transformation, I enjoyed seeing you work your magic. I would like to see this in several years, it is an amazing tree.

    Wow that really was a beautiful thick trunk underneath. Very nice, as usual! Good job! Also, the way it looked when you started is exactly what I looked like at 25, so I can relate to this little number.

    Mr Chan, thank you so much🙇 for this inspiring lesson which reminded me of other rules such as "Literati" - 9:06 nothing is lost - when handling trees with messy branch growth - I have 4 trees with very messy branches and fear of prune; fear of losing these branches, even though they have few leaves Thank you so much 🙇 for passing on your experience

    Hi Peter, as an thinking man, we all love challenges, you are no exception, its always great to see how one rose to the occasion.
    Been away from your vlog for awhile, mom has cross over to the other side, she was 94. (I’ll be fine it will take time.)
    Mom has a 35 years old Ficus bonsai tree that I am learning to maintain. So far so good thanks to your vlog.
    I have three basic questions for you: Watering, how often, what type of fertilize and when to fertilize, and how often do you trim the roots system, only as needed it? Thank you for your help. 🙏🙏🙏
    Take Care and Be Safe.🙏

    Hello Peter. I have a 40 year old jade tree that needs a good pruning. its almost 4 feet tall and I have never pruned it very well. I'd love to shorten it and put it in a much smaller, space saving pot. I'm trying to figure out how to send you pictures. Fantastic job on that rhododendron!

    I was wondering if you have any crepe myrtle or Lagerstroemia plants as bonsai. I have several trees in my yard and I have collected several root shoots to start. The plant loves to send up little shoots several feet from the parent plant and I gently dig them up and trim them down.

    I am at the minute about to repot a rhododendron using kanuma soil and moss peat. Because of the sustainability. And the impact Environmentally. Is there a good alternative to moss peat?? Someone mentioned to me about coir soil.

    • @jonawolf8023
      @jonawolf8023 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Coir soil is one of the best alternatives to moss peat but not perfect. Moss peat hold moisture a bit better and provides an asidic soil, important for Rhododendron. Unsing pine (bark ore nedles) the aciditi can be regulatet. When you start to experiment you have to have a close eye.
