Great tutorial, dude! Didn't really know how to go about breaking the head solo with bow before this, so much appreciated! I did catch one thing about the build though. The Nami Gamma head comes with 3 Stamina Surge already, so instead of the Refresh/Physique Jewel, wouldn't either a Destroyer/Physique or Physique+ serve you better? Not trying to take a jab at you. You're one of my favorite bow runners. Keep up the good work and thanks again for this!

You know what’s upsetting even in the beginning it says “It’s a monster so its head must be a weak spot” So that applies to everything except ranged weapons right commander?
@@devyncole7435 In order to be considered a weak point, the target you're hitting has to have a Hitzone Value (HZV) of at least 45 for the type of weapon you're using (slash, blunt, ranged). The HZV of Fatty's head for ranged weapons is I believe 33, so no weak point
I never used or watched bow (or any other ranged weapon) since MHFU. Damn, the bow gameplay looks beautiful, especially the dashes (and nice Gogmazios mod). A lot can change in 10 years.
I just got my first bow solo kill with my pre-Fatalis gear yesterday. The head break is a huge chore for bows ngl. I had to commit both binders and roaming ballista on the head before I could get a break. Most of the openings that allows us to punish the head are pretty much the same as other melee weapons(except for that fire sweep with his neck slithering backwards), and we weren't given a decent HZV to do it. >:'(
they really should've made the head hitzone 34 instead of 33 so that it'd be 45 tenderised. Before dropping the decimal it's actually 44.75. It's such a big middle finger given how important breaking the head is in this fight. And regardless, hbg will still outdamage everything else on the chest.

because the raw hitzone is so bad for ranged but the dragon hitzone is 25 which is fairly good. For melee, or just in general, it's better to focus on raw, but specifically on the head with a ranged weapon you want element.
Hi Tidus, this is very helpful. I have a question about roaming ballista. I think I’m landing all the shots on the chest/belly but Fatalis doesn’t fall down. Is the belly considered different from the chest? I see you hitting only about half of the shots on the chest and it still fell down. What gives? Thank you for this video!!!
If you haven't tenderized the chest/don't have 2 points in heavy artillery it won't be consistent. Also, if you used the cannon opener, it might also not work, not 100% sure.

Yea, cone baiting for bow is a waste of time. You can punish every standing move with bow. You’ll get plenty of other opportunities to damage head with bites

Agi 7 gives 20% crit which you need since it doesn’t proc wex. Also once you switch to body or when you can’t hit the head, it is way more valuable than dragon
This would have been great earlier, but I already farmed all the Evil Eyes I needed with Switch Axe 😛 Also, as you showed off in the video, its way easier to predict him and get head shots without the Palico. Any time he chases the cat instead of you, its a big time waster and you can't hit the head or the chest when he's turned around
Oh that’s a good question actually. The head breaks on 3rd and 6th flinch threshold. So if you count how many times he flinches from the head, he did twice before the knockdown, so i knew i was on the last flinch before break.

The head is not a weakpoint for ranged, that’s why most ranged players don’t go for the head and only chest. And yes mighty Bow is an absolute necessity. When you dash you either increase or conserve the charge level. So when I dash rapid power, I’m actually at max lv on both the rapid and the power shot if it followed an previous charge. If you start from 0, then dash rapid rapid power, the power is also at max charge (lv4). I haven’t rewatched that video in a while, but I’m willing to bet there isn’t a single lv3 power shot, or maybe 1 if I had to guess. It’s jsut extemely rare or nice to do power shot lv3

Capcom is trying to hold us range players back, all the endgame dragons have shot type S**Tzones.
They still can't hold back HBG from doing 2x damage of almost every other weapon class.

I ending up use great sword in the beginning, knock it down with cannon, do a true charge and then switch back to my bow set.

kjarr decay is also good for breaking its head. Got around 61 with close range coating without single buff
