Absolutely incredible. This thing actually has more muzzle energy than .223 rem/5.56 nato in standard loadings. By about 250 ft lbs. Thats wild for an airgun.

This makes the Gamo Swarm Magnum look like a toy. It might just be a year before I get a Zeus since the pricetag is quite hefty, but totally worth it and something I want to test out

Big bore air guns has changed the game in both Hunting and home defense. No longer can Air guns be looked at as Toys. Any Air gun that can Stop and drop a Wild Hog, Deer, Bear etc can easily drop a full grown man in a defense situation.
My dad always said there is no limit to a steam engine because of pressure ,air is the same but a water or steam propulsion might make a gun that would be faster than gunpowder
How much range does this beast have? The AirForce Texan.50 CF, if I recall correctly can be shot accurately around 100 yards. But this gun has much more momentum behind the round. How far can this accurately take down an elk?
If you think about the weight of the round, this is rather similar to the problems you get with shooting anything .50 cal and above. Sighting in a rifle scope also includes having the right one that gives you enough headroom to nail long distance shots, and with such a high grain used, is going to stay far more consistent over a .22 It suffers from the problems other high caliber firearms suffer, because you basically have something with an FPE high enough to actually compete with real guns (it definitely has more power than a pistol at 1.5K FPE, which is about rifle category)
I’d like to see a sabot round for this. I’m getting ideas from Taofledermaus. I could probably 3D print a sabot for different projectiles. I wonder if that could work.
It would be nice to see it out to 100 yards? Should I ask how much and if it's sky high you can get a firearm with better ballistics for far less money I am sure. It isn't like you can shoot this in your backyard (At least in mine anyway) I just comes down to physics.
Super cool. But, here's the problem. The heavier the slug the faster the drop. Air rifles can't get the air out to push a slug much faster than 1200fps and that's only small cal like 177, 22, 25. So we created big bores and better valves for more volume of air to get more FPE. But by doing that you lowered the shot count. Powder burners are still far better if they are legal and you can get ammo. There is your reason to get a big bore air rifle. All you need is lead.
Well, it's quiet compared to a muzzleloader or flintlock, which only have a marginally faster muzzle velocity with a much smaller and lighter typically .45 or .50 cal. ball projectile. It's easier to keep clean and operates on air, which is free. So there's that.
The slug will drop off far heavier, but the gun also gets 900+ for that grain slug, which while you will see a drop off, will get at least some distance before fully falling off, and can be calibrated for long distance if you are patient. You should be sighting in any scope so you can get those hits given how higher caliber rifles tend to drop a lot faster, and this would be no different A .50 cal will drop instantly when launched, and yet it still remains a very popular and wanted gun to shoot. And while a .72 will drop extremely hard, it isn’t too much of a problem given what you already dealing with at .5 gauge and above. Cause at this fpe, it’s too good to not take those factors into account, and if you do, I’m sure you could have a blast firing the gun. I get your concerns though, which is why next year/next few years I’ll be getting one and really sight it in (most likely at a gun range because I don’t trust this thing to not rip through a wall) because it should be useable and one you can set up for long distance shots, even if the pellet wants to drop
Probably 3k Good pump is 300-800 Air tank axtually isnt needed as theres a built in one on the gun but theyre like 300 The gun is just under 2k. You can get a decent big bore gun with pump for 1.5k tho
put a magazine on it and I would buy one. I will never pay that much money for a single shot rifle. Not single action I would buy single action rifles as long as there was instant access to follow up shots.

This 72 caliber air rifle is more than three times the energy of a 45 ACP and it's also got more momentum at probably being four to five times the weight of a 45 ACP bullet and that momentum and being all LED with no copper jacketed which is insane but all in all I love the 45 ACP as well but there is no power comparison I would think this thing would be a more like a 12 gauge shotgun slug
So wasting precious resources. If you're going to mess around with less viscous fluids, jump straight to hydrogen and include an igniter. Since you're already making an exotic mod for an exotic PCP.

I bet 100 yards is about 400 yards short of its effective range, if not more.

How about 55 yards to see what the energy at same Brick and watermelon targets. Then push it back to 70.
