How long does it actually take when you apply the torch to the bottle for it to get "HOT ENOUGH" TO BEND? Also, can you melt the larger part of the bottle to change its shape? Plus, how many times CAN you melt the glass if you were to make a mistake the first time around? Thanks for any info you can give me - it looks and "sounds" interesting to try.

As a life long glassblower i can tell you that this is not a good idea, after it has been stretched the glass must be properly annealed or it will be full of stress and tension and could literally explode at any time. especially if sudden temperature change is applied.
@@hugh_dancy It would be less likely to 'explode' but may still crack when cooling down especially if you mix glass from different bottles. There are many different types of glass used in bottles and although they will mix when hot they will separate when cooling and crack.

You didn't explain the necessary annealing step. As soon as the glass hits room temperature it's going to break, you know, going from 4000 degrees to 70 all of a sudden. You have to pop that bottle in a kiln or some styrfoam for 9 hours.

I have bro... you have to put salt with some water or it can be sand, to clean out the white powdery stuff that's inside. Once your done, dry it up real good and get that torch going. I made a huge oil burner out of one.

Its cooling too fast and cracking. So the best way to do it would probably find a way to hold the temp so it cools down slower
Drill an angled hole in it so you can put a banger in it, and you got a kick ass looking dab rig.
