I've been to the pirate museum. It was pretty crowded in the summer. It was a lovely town to walk around. There was a candy place where you could watch them make taffy and fudge.
I don’t think it was Gina filming. I’m seeing Christmas decorations in the lobby area so this was filmed after Thanksgiving but before Christmas (or just after) and just not released till now. Hmmm…or maybe it was Gina? I’m second guessing myself now.
The Outer Banks have a long history of pirates and smugglers. If you want to be amazed find a map of all the shipwrecks along the Carolina coast. Lots of history here.
This was a fun video, Jay. I can only imagine how fun it was walking those historic sites. Even if it was a down time of the year and cold weather. Seeing houses and buildings that are actually older than the USA is always awesome. Can't wait for the next adventure!
Fascinating, I was born in Bath, UK. A Roman city, I wonder what the connection, if any to the UK town is. Though I do seem to recall that Blackbeard has a connection to Bristol UK, which is only 6 miles away from Bath, UK.
Thank you, Jay! Glad you got to check out Ocracoke, it gets crazy during the season. My family used to go there every summer when I was growing up, and I miss it. Next time you come up to the Outer Banks, you could start at Ocracoke, then take the ferry to Hatteras, and drive up to the rest of the OBX. You might enjoy Kill Devil Hills, Roanoke Island, etc. Loving history, I now want to check out Bath and Beaufort.
@JayWalkingthePlanet There's only two places with this similar accent. The other is an island off of Southern NJ, I think. It's due to the isolation of the island, I think.
Hey Florida man, I hope you didn’t skip Southport NC, it’s where the hunt for Blackbeard was HQ’d AND just outside town is the creek bed where Stede Bonnet was captured.
6:17 Jay, that Grandma is as tall as your ELBOW! Literally! 😂 You’re a giant of a man! (That does not come across on camera as you’re playing Sea of Thieves, just you in a tiny corner of the screen that’s often an ocean.)
I'll be honest, I'm not very familiar with Pirates, but this was a neat video. Very cool. Very interesting. Love seeing you do something you love and being excited about it. I bet you wish you had a time machine so you could witness history first hand.
When I was married, my wife and I always vacationed at Hatteras, NC., every summer. We’d take the ferry to Ocracoke every time. She always enjoyed the island for boring shopping lol. One year on the ferry, we met Richard Gere and Diane Lane. They were shooting a movie called Nights in Rodanthe. We saw it. It was pretty lame for a dude aka chick flick. But that was cool meeting them.
North Carolina is a pretty cool place to visit. Seeing as though I’ve done so a couple of times with my family in the past. Hope you had a good time Jay.
OMG I'm so chuffed you replied. Been watching you for years, here, occasionally at G&G and at Park Hopping. Gina Carano's personal stalker - the Canadian Bear!@@JayWalkingthePlanet
Thanks for Watching! You can find my Pirate Channel Here www.youtube.com/@HistoryofPirates

I love taffy
Wow. Gina does great camera work!
Cape May, NJ also has a tie to the Black Beard legend. It's a quaint town and worth a visit in spring.
Heyyy don’t give away my secrets
@@JayWalkingthePlanet So it was Gina filming? Just casually recording your little adventure?
I don’t think it was Gina filming. I’m seeing Christmas decorations in the lobby area so this was filmed after Thanksgiving but before Christmas (or just after) and just not released till now.
Hmmm…or maybe it was Gina? I’m second guessing myself now.
Aha, a clue! 5:56 “We’re from Florida” Jay said. If it was Gina doing the filming then Jay would have said “We’re from Florida and Montana.”
I'm sorry. I didn't mean to confuse folks. I was just joking around with Jay.
Thanks for taking us on your adventures Jay. Also props to the editor and camera operator.
Our pleasure!

🏴☠🏴☠Thx Jay! I really enjoyed the Video.
My dude , thank you
South of the Border still cracks me up.
My dad I and I did a trip to the Outer Banks once. Ocracoke was one of the places we over-nighted.
I’m gonna stay the night there one day
Great video as always, but your voice overs were top notch. It flowed really well with the video. : )
We are getting better at this! Thank you
Great video as always! These adventures are really cool!
Moooooooooeeeeeee
2:58 Ok, I get that you are visiting where Blackbeard lived, but damn dude, you didn't need to scare the hell out of me with that random "AARRR!!!!"
Please blame my editor! Also, noted as we try to get better at these vlogs videos!
Welcome to my home state! You were near where I grew up. Thanks for sharing.🙏
Thanks for watching!, loved it there
Glad to see you had a good trip! I grew up visiting Outer Banks and that area yearly and always loved the pirate and Blackbeard history.
Very cool!
15:04 a guy from Florida so excited about finding the beach! 🎉 Love ya Jay, keep having fun and being insightful. 🏴☠️
Hahahaha I never thought of it that way!!!! Much love

If only more people shared your love of history.
Awesome video, can’t wait for you to go back for pirate week!
Can't wait!
Awesome content! Adding this to my must visit list. Keep on walking Jay 🏴☠️⚔️
Thank you!
15:25 “Just Me and the Sea”… Nice! Sounds like the title for a poem or perhaps a caption for a photograph. I like it!

You never know
There’s something so very charming about a church that’s never locked.
Nice!
Now can you find Isla De Muerta and its chest of cursed Aztec Gold?
Next time hahaha
Awesome video like always Jay! Love it!
You're the best!
Cool stuff, always fascinated by pirates.
Glad you enjoyed
It would be cool to have entire Sea of Thieves crew with you when you go for the Pirate festival.
Fingers crossed
How fun. This was a fun video. Would love to see more. Maybe one day i can join you on one of your adventures 😁👍
That would be cool!
I look forward to seeing Jay returning to Ocracoke Island. :D P.S. A fittingly bleak place for the death of a dreaded pirate. :D
Just love this content Jay. My friend you were born in the wrong Century huh.
Hahaha I would fall off a pirate 🏴☠️ ship

You should!
Really love the positive take on everything!
"...but that wasn't going to deTOUR me from my quest...."
DeTER is the word you're looking for. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
We just talk different in Florida , come on man
Always good to see you having a fun time Jay. The Carolina’s can get cold for you Florida boys 😂. Have a great day man 🍻
Thanks! You too!
This screenshot here 17:36 reminds me so much of the photo you use for your “Mental Chill” channel. (It’s not the same, but a very similar vibe.)
Great road trip Jay. I really appreciate the effort and detail in each of these vids! Great stuff brother!
I appreciate that!
Great video Jay 🤘
Glad you enjoyed it
So very cool.
Thank you
You're welcome
Really interesting. Thanks for sharing
Thank you
Ocracoke has a weird Bristolian accent. That's what my dad's family would have sounded like when they got here.
Had to get a local to help me say it right hahaha

I can just imagine Jay cruising his pirate ship up to that island.....and crashing into it lol
Hahahahaha it would happen
😂If “Sea of Thieves” is any indication…it’s guaranteed to happen.🤣
I wanna go there!
I’m going back
North Carolina is a pretty cool place to visit. Seeing as though I’ve done so a couple of times with my family in the past. Hope you had a good time Jay.
Return for pirate week, sir.
It must happen
Jay living large in Pirate Land. That wasn’t a fat joke by the way. XD
Haha funny thing is I recorded this video in December, I’m so happy at the weight I’ve lost since then. Life is good
@@JayWalkingthePlanet Yeah man I only roast people I like. Don’t get too offended by it. Glad everyone is doing well there.
You should watch one piece
I have and I love it
Did you find where Jack Sparrow is buried?
Still looking
