I have a question for you sensei. Last night I simmered my rye grain so I could add some spores to it. I ran out of time and wasn't able to drain them and dry them out. They are still soaking in the water I simmered them in. Should I start over completely, or do you think they will be ok to dry today? Or, do I need to simmer them again, and then dry them out?

Literally just made Potato dextrose agar from Paul Stamets book. You’re awesome
This is how i started my current sourdough starter. The previous one was ginger bug water and flour
Interesting content and very well explained, you earned a new subscriber !
@@Im-building-stuff Thank you! 🙏
Ty for this experiment, very good info for if I ever cant afford the ingredients I normally use 😊.
Perfect! Great song by BeatzEra and great job to you my friend. Be well
I'll try this with my syringe of champignons i made a while back, thanks for the idea
@@inxomnyaa Thanks for watching!
Love your imagination!
Also don’t forget to grow potatoes in your mushroom substrate
Full cycle 😂

@@RipperTH-camOfficial I would start over, the grain will be soggy and cause contamination
@SporenSprout I was afraid you would say that! Duly noted though
How do you avoid the syringe getting clogged when extracting the mycellium? second part video could be awesome
Stir it hard
I tried mine like you did and the next day it was cloudy
@@Enyirichmushroomqueen That’s ok. 👌🏻
Hey! Love your chanel, in trying to start on this... you recommend this one for amateurs?
@@EstanislaoAdeff Thanks for watching! Yes this method is perfect for amateurs
Thank you

Can I use tap water for both steps? Like for the canning process and for boiling the potatoes??
@@hcombh Canning water must be distilled unless you want rust. Tap water is fine for LC media.
What can be used in place of the magnetic stir?
@@averyanderson6925 If you have a waterproof filter in the lid you can just shake the jar every day.
Great method. I'd avoid the tethlon though as it leeches.
is it absolutely necessary to use a new needle? Can you not sterilize a used one?
@@marcwilson1052 Yes you can sterilize a used one.

TIL there is a magnet stirring device and I suddenly need this.
Stir playes standard in every lab and they're awesome. I have no idea why they're never found in kitchens and other places
Hey where did u get your lab knowledge, did u go to school or is this self taught.
