@@222LH maybe if the client was stranded on a deserted island for 6 months but other than that it sounds crazy unnecessary and unhealthy for your hair tbh. I've been to a lot of salons and never have they washed my hair more than once (shampoo + conditioner).
Couple of things with this comment.....one is flip flops are not only unprofessional, they are dangerous. It's a salon...it means chemicals and sharp objects everywhere and poor grip on slippery surfaces. Truly it is safety precaution to have closed toes shoes. Second is insubordination. In a business there can be NO exceptions. To feel like you are above the rules is not being part of team.
The heavy lady who said her flip flops will be back the next day is not taking it seriously. Tabitha is trying make the salon better and set some guidelines and if that woman can't follow the rules then she does need to go. Otherwise the salon is going to start to go back to it's old ways. Also, that women needs some training on how to treat a customer that is right there in front of her. She did not make that customer feel like she was important. She needs to learn how to handle the phone and the customer at the same time. Put the phone calls on hold until you get the customer in front of you helped. I'm not sure she should be at the front desk as the first person the customer interacts with when they enter.
Wow, the receptionist and the assistant just didn’t care about their jobs. Wouldn’t it be receptionists fault that the shoes she selected and purchased are not comfortable for her feet.
Be rid of that receptionist. She sets the tone for the salon as the first face seen. She's snarky, rude and unbecoming of a salon trying to build its brand as 'bougie.'
The most important thing that happened in this episode is hands down the grief support for her losing her mother. Even if the owner lost her salon tomorrow. Tabitha is a good person.

Personally I like some casual chit chat and a friendly atmosphere, but that's about it. I feel so uncomfortable around drama.
I really really really like Tabitha, she is the ultimate woman. You can tell she has a really good soul and an awesome strong exterior
Exactly!!
She says it how it is
Plus volume control. How she was on a U.S.A. reality show is beyond me, but it sure is nice.
How do u really know someone tho?? How can u tell she has a good soul???
A true lady boss 😊
I love how her former clients showed her love and appreciation and most of all empathy. Such a good episode.
It is said that somewhere out there, Val is still in search of comfortable shoes!
I'm just tired hearing about shoes with Val. They are flats! Not heels! Get over it lol
The SHADE the staff is throwing! I feel like I am watching an episode of Ru Paul's Drag Race XD
The receptionist works in a salon yet she’s still dressed and wear makeup like she’s in the 90s dark age
The show is from 2012 so the style was very “Jersey” but I see what your saying :)
@@inainoslo lol! My eyebrows never looked like that in the 90s or 2010's. Lol! My mom had thin 60's eyebrows and they never came back with the thick eyebrow trends. I won't let anyone remove any hair from my eyebrows. No waxing, threading or shaving. I tweeze individually each hair.
Her hair is so yellow
@@marleyhill34 Ugh I WISH I could say the same!! My eyebrows used to grow in so thick and bushy, they were amazing. Sadly, early 2000's trends convinced me to pluck them to death. They're better now but I used to have a unibrow, and not they grow in patchy 😭. Oh, to go back in time and yank those tweezers out of my hands!!
@@absolutelyridiculous6743 well there is always microblading.
Some of those women act like they own the Salon💇...get rid of those clowns and hire new staff
@Andy okey exactly!
Yes, a stylist should look well put together.
That assistant rolling her eyes after requesting a day off I would have fired her there and then. No respect at all. The receptionist is Lazy, dated and not a front of House personality. Fire her too.
Tabatha’s hair is always perfect. I can’t even deal.
i really love how monica does consults like that’s really relaxing and calming and makes the appointment less stressful
It is hard to find comfortable shoes.... but not THAT hard. Flip flops in a salon aren’t even legal in my state.
She could get crocs or Toms lol they’re very comfortable
@@92cgray she just needs wide toed shoes. I think she just denying her feet dont fit strandard width shoes that's why its was "hard" for her to find shoes.
@@Ma5jay5dontxdoxthat theres no way she cant find good shoes my feet is 40 and wide but always find good shoes. Of course its not as comfortable as flip flops but comfortable enough

As a hairstylist.... this is the best show on earth 😍 I wish she’d get another show. I met her at a hair show once and she was an angel
As someone from Philly I take offense in the first 10 seconds when they call any part of NJ a "suburb of Philadelphia" lmaooo no ma'am the delaware river is there for a reason!
For real
I said the same thing. Since when is Cherry Hill, New Jersey a suburb of Philadelphia. Outrageous. They got that wrong
Carly Shenold New York is in philly
So what everyone knows were it is
@@lisadd72 New york is a state... Philly is a City in Pennsylvania... Cherry Hill is in New jersey... so clearly not EVERYONE knows where it is
At first I didn't even realize Val was the receptionist. For some reason her shirt looks kind of like scrubs and I just assumed she was a client and thought it was kind of weird a client was behind the reception desk.
Thing is tabatha knows exactly what she’s doing with hair and even business I have no idea why people question her I’d love her to come to my business I’d be writing everything she said down
Exactly! If Tabitha told me to jump, I'd say "how high"!
People questioning her reminds me of people questioning Gordon Ramsey regarding restaurant stuff 🤣😭
@@yamitekudaSTOPplease
I was going to write the same thing... it is mindblowing to me, how failing business owners will question and push back against successful ones who try to help them.
Seriously! And then these owners have the gall to give her attitude and ignore her! It really is mind blowing smh
@@miaomiaou_ right? It’s like she’s here to help your failing business show some damn respect!

“And no flip flops !”
“Imma be wearing my flip flops tomorrow”

Dedication!
Flip flops would hurt my feet
No one needs an employee like her.
The receptionist with the shoe issue would be fired so fast if she worked for me it would make her head spin! Business owners can only be but so accommodating for so long. Professionalism matters and you should have to people who fit your particular brand.
We need a "Tabitha" in the health care field!!!!
In school too
The receptionist with the bad feet needs wide fitting shoes she is not a teenager
More than everything, she needs weigt loss. Our lower extremities are not designed to bear Such a big weight on such a small surface.
beryl bishop 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@martizmartiz3868 yes because my knees hurt during to the extra weight on them
I would fire her for incompetence and non compliance.
And what she doesn't understand is that there are comfort shoe brand like Clarks. They are super comfy and make wide versions
Aisha wants to attract ethnic clients but shampoos hair three times?! That would dry out any textured hair.
I cringed so hard when she said that. I'm getting phantom itches on my scalp just thinking about it.
I have oily straight hair and my scalp would hate this too 😪
I'm white, I've never, ever heard of washing hair 3 times. It's just so unnecessary. Even twice tbh, it's just a scam so shampoo companies can sell more. One shampoo, thorough, with a good scalp massage is enough for anyone.
It's to properly cleanse the hair, as caucasian hair it's really good to make sure it's really clean then wait longer between washing
@@222LH maybe if the client was stranded on a deserted island for 6 months but other than that it sounds crazy unnecessary and unhealthy for your hair tbh. I've been to a lot of salons and never have they washed my hair more than once (shampoo + conditioner).
I’ve never seen Tabatha Takes Over before......it’s really good! They got rid of the troublemakers! Brilliant!

😂😂😂I thought I was the only one seeing this
But why? That's only the set for the van where they do the interview and what they caught on camera.
It's a set, not a real salon.

I’m not a stylist but I did see the bottles and was like why they have the Suave and A05 bottles in there. They know we can see it right... 🥴
How does Tabatha be like "don't tell them I'm here" but theres cameras recording them all.of a sudden 😂
They're hidden cameras
Val looks like a living version of the south park Jersey shore episode

I start cosmetology school in October. Tabatha is my queen
Good luck!
Teresa McKeown Congrats and good luck! (I’ve just started going back to school at age 40, lol!)
Good luck
A rule i was taught in hairdressing was you must wear closed in shoes!
And no sleeveless tops!
Yes! And hair slivers on the feet are horrible, so it just seems like common sense
yeah it's a rule for work just in general for pretty much all industries
Yes! When my wife went to Beauty school 18 yrs ago, two rules were stressed- No open toe shoes and No open sleeveless tops.
Grace hadn’t thought of that, even though one of my dogs sheds splinter hair. I thought of chemicals sitting on skin and in between toes. Ouch.
Tabitha's face when she saw Aiesha cutting! 😂😂😂
This is great. The owner is really sweet, I can feel her pain for losing her mom. Hopefully the salon is still open.
You cannot wear open toe shoes in a salon for Health and safety reasons. Them hairs get in your toes you'll know about it.
Imagine getting a hair splinter under a toenail 😱😱
@@assajventress3204 😅😆 exactly
When Flip-flops gets you fired 😩😂
No her just not following the rules got her fired
Couple of things with this comment.....one is flip flops are not only unprofessional, they are dangerous. It's a salon...it means chemicals and sharp objects everywhere and poor grip on slippery surfaces. Truly it is safety precaution to have closed toes shoes. Second is insubordination. In a business there can be NO exceptions. To feel like you are above the rules is not being part of team.
I’m 16 and I’m learning at the moment to be a hair stylist and even I knew this
@@hiemily7603 Congrats! You go and own your dream boo, and do it with not only style and grace, but good common sense. Hearts and blessings to you ❣❣

I used to have to watch this show in my cosmetology classes as examples of what not to do when I got a salon job 😂
Val with that faux birkin, crazy lip liner, them bad feet 😂
The fake Birkin bag killed me!
If you want to be upscale, classy and international, you can’t have Valerie be the first person the clients are seeing.
Female Gordon ramsay
my first thought exactly lol
Tabatha is pretty tough but really nice at the
End
Gordon is the male Tabatha
LoL 😂
Anna Otarola really??? Do you want a biscuit
They were old maiden type of shoes
Be rid of that receptionist. She sets the tone for the salon as the first face seen. She's snarky, rude and unbecoming of a salon trying to build its brand as 'bougie.'
The most important thing that happened in this episode is hands down the grief support for her losing her mother. Even if the owner lost her salon tomorrow. Tabitha is a good person.
The lady in blond hair is not ready for work, she needs to go home
Yup, glad to know she left
She acts like a special snowflake 🙄
The attitude is pathetic
Absolutely Ridiculous yea, if you can’t wear flat shoes without complaining just to be a freaking receptionist ,you’re a baby and need to suck it up. I wanted to smack her
