    • @lodalega9674
      @lodalega9674 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @jabba wockeez yes,ever since the separate list for IMDB Top 250 Indian movies started but it won't be there after some time,once it reaches 25000 votes it will become part of the IMDB Top 250 list and will definitely fall in terms of ratings once it's in there.

    • @WSTRNS
      @WSTRNS 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @jabba wockeez yes ratings on IMDB changes cz it's a public rating. so Initially the ratings varries a lot. Shawshank or Godfather's ratings are constant cz these are old films, majority of ratings already have been given, probably a movie gets very very minimal new public rating on IMDB after 8-12 months, in case of a new movie it takes at least 1-1.5 months to settle the rating. like Chichore was on 9.2 two days back but now it's on 8.9, as public is watching the movie, different public giving different ratings.

    • @lodalega9674
      @lodalega9674 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @jabba wockeez No,it goes like this,every time an Indian movie enters the Top 250 list,its ratings start to fall immediately,not because it's a bad movie but because(well,that's what i have observed)Americans(who have the maximum number of ''Regular'' voters)Despise seeing it in the list,they vote it without watching it,From Sholay(8.6)to Andaz Apna Apna(8.8)it has happened with almost every Indian movie(exception being Aamir Khan flicks)I cracked the list last year because it was easy for me being an Indian,i never felt the burden of watching a Hindi movie but they do,i have not met a non-Indian who has finished the whole list,many are merely 4-5 movies short and all of them are Indians,Indian movies are long compared to their cinema,almost every Indian movie is musical which most of them don't like either,also,they just don't like anything Indian hence the constant dropping.

    Rick! Shashi Kapoor is my favourite actor and yes, he is a thespian! The youngest out of the three iconic Kapoor brothers (the oldest being Raj Kapoor and middle brother being Shammi Kapoor), Shashi was the more quiet and reserved one. He had a deep passion for theatre and contributed a lot to the Indian theatre scene. He and his wife Jennifer built Prithvi Theatre, one of Mumbai's best known theatres. I hope you guys can check out some of his non-commercial films.
    Also, talking about the parents thing. Yes, we do have a culture of actually caring for your parents. If they are abusive, it's NOT forced upon you to take care of them. It's not due to compulsion and society that we take care of our parents, most of us have great respect for our parents which is why we take care of them as they grow older and not just put them in an old age care home, so to say.

    I have mom has a much deeper meaning here. Portraying having not only their mother with him, but also the principles, teachings the mother gave them as kids, and the sense of being a pride for their mother. That dialogue became a verbal meme that remains fresh till date, but it came with a lot of deeper layers too.

He worked in B grade films just to make these gems in Indian cinema like Junoon, 36 Chowrangee Lane, Vijeta, Utsav. What you are seeing here is Bollywood masala film, but the "Art" films which Shashi Kapoor produced left a mark on Indian cinema like never before. @aminmeghani6819 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Big B's meteoric rise to fame was mainly due to the Angry Young Man persona he created (well, screenwriters Salim-Javed actually) onscreen...as a result he played several memorable anti-hero roles in the 70s and 80s e.g. Sholay, Deewar, Trishul, Kaala Pathar, Don, Muqaddar Ka Sikander, etc.

    this scene is one of the most iconic scenes of hindi movies, but the last dialog " mere paas maa hai" meaning i have got mom is the greatest dialog of hindi movies because just 4 words sums up the whole concept of the movie, this little dialog defeats bad despite how much it is successful, and triumphs the truth, the righteous path. in modern context it is the mic drop moment, nothing can top this , not even all the riches of vijay . train scene indicates that nothing can go beyond this.
    interestingly, shashi kapoor was one of the finest actors of his generation but he didn't get many opportunities to showcase his talent, but atlast he got the best dialog of hindi movies. he was the best actor among kapoor clan.

    Fun fact guys. SRK hasn't always played the 'hero'/ love interest/ protagonist. SRK started his career in Bollywood with antagonist and anti-hero roles. The first time he was cast as a protagonist, the Directors were warned about this risky gamble, and that the movie would bomb because of casting SRK (who had only done antagonist roles) as a lead. Watch Baazigar and Darr to see SRK's starting movies and him playing anti-hero.

Other movies similar from this era and genre worth reacting to which show the BIG B as a full acting force- SHAKTI -with legends Dilip Kumar & Rakhee / Kala Pathar (again with Shashi Kapoor) Both of these have great stories and ooze MASTERCLASS PERFORMANCES / & one masala movie you should definitely react to is DON you'll love this change of pace. Late 70s saw a drop in Superstar Rajesh Khanna's stardom and a drastic rise in Big B's stardom! A stardom which, till today, is intact! Starting from the 70s, Big B's films (barring a few) are nothing less than iconic! All these dialogues are so drummed into our heads that we have them mugged up! Watch and react to all the trailers of Big B films of the 70s and the 80s.

    Mr. Amitabh Bachchan was of a theatre backgrounds he studied in Sherwood College, Nainital (one of the most prestigious boarding schools in india, I had the good fortune of an education from the same institution ). He started his acting from Sherwood and was very involved and active in the theatre group and he grew from there. Wizard of Oz, one flew over a cuckoo's nest etc are plays often enacted in sherwood theatre annually.
