You didn’t say it but did it with your motions - loved how you raked away from the scalp (instead of raking straight down) to increase root volume! Also the raking and “pancaking” (as you called it) helps reduce the webbing and halo frizz. This was a great demonstration! Wish there had been more vids like this when I was younger. I didn’t learn how to style my curly hair until I was an adult and I’m still learning new things all the time. ❤ Thank you!
@@bekkiroyhair Came home from the gym and went ahead and washed my hair. It came out great! My curls are much more defined even the top! No brushes and no plopping. I usually air dry, but I diffused this time. Thank you again! 🤗
Loved this demo! Question: if you are doing your own hair how to position your hand and fingers, since that would be very different than when you are raking another person’s head? I usually end up doing from the inner hair parts while raking away from scalp. What should I do about the outer top of scalp on my own head, as far as the hands? Thank you❤
HI, great question! When doing your own hair I recommend flipping upside down to apply to the top section of hair. Then you can position your hands with palms facing towards your face and rake from scalp to ends pulling away from your body. This will help build volume by lifting the hair away from the root.
Would this technique pull out loose waves? I've tried brush styling and even with scrunching afterwards it will cause my waves to elongate more which is something that I don't want.
It depends on what you're using for product. If its too heavy, it would have that effect. I use this technique on my fine wavy hair and find I get better, longer lasting curls with it.
@@bekkiroyhair I use the Raw Curls cleanser and conditioner. I don’t like their stylers. I use Innersense I create volume, sweet spirit and / or inner peace.

Have you ever tried Raw Curls products?
Yes I have. I really liked the shampoos and conditioners. But, I struggled with the stylers and couldn’t get good results with them
