Model A Ford how to install window bumpers for 1929 Roadster & other convertibles

- Every time I take my 1929 Model A Ford Roadster for a drive with the top down I hear a click it y clack sound of the glass window that on the back of the collapsing roof as it taps on the back metal near the trunk, so in todays video I’ll share what I did to install window bumpers to protect the window from braking during my driving adventures!
As usual, nothing ever goes as planned and there’s always some kind of twist on what I need to do to fix Roadies situations, but that’s how I learn and I hope sharing these situations for me will help you with your next projects and situations with your Model A Ford!

Some people are not as wise in reality as they sometimes think they are. It could also be the person just did not know any better is a posibility also. You are doing a good job at protecting this cars oaint job.
True, not everyone has come from any background of working on cars and some people are highly intelligent in some areas and have a hard time making common sense lol
I remember you duplicated the car color perfectly with some paint; maybe use some of that on the washers and you should be set! Paul’s rubber washer idea was genius!
Hey thank you! Acrylic paint might last a little while on that type of surface, it’s not too bad though, it’s keeping the window safe, most important 💗 Have a nice week!

As others have said, cutting the paint with a very sharp knife will stop it cracking in the wrong spot, also heating the area carefully will make the paint less brittle too. A hair dryer will do. I often remember this just after I chip the paint, haha.

You were lucky with the stuck one - next time cut the paint with a razor knife to prevent the paint from sticking- I love watching you learn to do your own work- it must be “killing” Paul to not show off and take over- love your shows

2 hours after you installed the great idea of bumper guards, I fought site of picture where the back of a 1929 which had a chrome looking rack in place where your window guards are.

Tina, if you ever get in this spot again, use an Exacto knife to break the paint seal so that it won't crack and take more paint than you want. Anyhow, good job from both you and your fabulous hubby, Paul.

You can purchase a copy of the Service Bulletins (a MUST HAVE) from most of the Model A parts suppliers as well.
Nice fix on old Roadie the Roadster. That's a shame someone painted those what should be bumpers in.😟I think your fix made it look a lot better and gave you the needed security of the window. Cat is a goofball! Looking at those, do you think the old ones were in upside down?
Lol, he is! I don’t think so, the rubber part of it was about an inch long and not quite as wide as a pencil, also had a bit of a twist on the end as if to assist with getting it in a hole. It would be interesting to know what they are actually for?
Good job. You might consider taking each screw back out and putting a dab of loctite on each screw, or use a lock washer on each screw to prevent vibration backing out the screw over time.
