  • This video i head out to explore some new greenlanes on my 1962 Triumph Desert Sled and see what trouble i can find.
    It was great to be out on the triumph again tackling new terrain and the triumph doing what it does best! Unfortunately my go pro skills were not quite up to the challenge!

    Sorry about the diabolical go pro footage!
    This video was supposed to be very different, much longer and much more exploring. Unfortunately my camera skills let it down and I had to cobble something together out of any use able footage!
    There's always next time!

      Thanks Steve! Haha you can't escape me.. Funnily enough that object was what helped me fund the triumph!

    I find myself watching this again, love it. English winter, you need to plan a donut and coffee stop to keep you warm. keep the short films going,

      Glad you enjoy it mate! You definitely do, you head out knowing you'll get wet and cold.. Hopefully I'll find some more greenlanes this year round. Got a few to go to but they're just that bit further out

      Ha you're the 3rd person to say that this evening! If there was any doubt it was me, the triumph t shirt should of cemented things!

      Thanks mate! As always the triumph provided fun throughout the day, nice weather for it too! Besides the cold...

    We’re very different! I spend ages on the OS app finding green lanes, plotting gpxs, and scouting on a mountain bike. Fair to say I’m a bit envious of your get-out-and-try-it attitude.

    Great video, really enjoyed it. It's such a shame that people act like that in this country. They think they have a right to exclude others from a right of way so that they can enjoy it exclusively. Sad, because we used to be all about fair play here.
    Good to see the Triumph getting a run out.
    Best wishes, Dean in Oxfordshire.

      Thanks Dean! Yes you're right there, especially frustrating when you're abiding by all the laws and jumping through the other hoops only to have it spoiled by someone else! Still I think it's important to get on the lanes and use them, hopefully that prevents the ramblers association from claiming them all!
      It's been crying for a good run for a while!

    Nice to hear the 500 twin whilst my own is tucked away. More of these get my vote!

      Can't blame you for tucking it away at the moment! It's the best sound going!

    Love seeing you back on the Triumph. I just got my 55 back up again so I'm, as you would say, chuffed ;)

      Cheers mate! I'd be damn well chuffed if I were you! 😂 Hope you can find the time to get out there and give it a damn good run, cracking bike!

    Love to see a “cooking bike” used properly 👍would like on bike footage to be a bit higher so we can see the scenery rather than front end but hey - it’s all good.

    Another great vid. I've a 1965 Triumph 650. A bit heavy for a lot of the green lanes near me, but was wondering where you ride off road as they look a bit more sedate?

    • @ColemanCustoms
      @ColemanCustoms  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes all depends on the scenery, so to speak. These are greenlanes around the kent/Sussex area!

      @@ColemanCustoms Ah ok. I'm in Hampshire and not too many place that the ramblers haven't taken over. Mine's a similar look to your bike, but with webco filter etc, but I've not made the front guard or bash plate yet. Did you make the bash plate yourself? I kind of wanted to fabricate my on rather than buy from Ace.!

    Not exactly desert but your sled works well on it. Your lower final drive gearing seems about right for those conditions. 👍

    • @ColemanCustoms
      @ColemanCustoms  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The gearing is spot on for those sorts of trails, won't give much top speed but definitely helps keep a constant momentum over the rough stuff. If only I had some desert over here, I'd be on it!

    Please explain to this Yank what a Greenlane is. Are they just trails or established paths for recreational use? What is surprising to me are the total lack of mountain bikers, hikers, 4-wheelers and motocrossers all insisting on right-of-way. Love the Triumph, I’ll be converting a wretched T140v for similar use.

    • @ColemanCustoms
      @ColemanCustoms  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi mate, a greenlane is basically an area that can be road through legally with the usual road insurance and tax! They can be hard to find and few and far between, not too many people are aware of them or their location hence not too many others about! I usually bump into the odd horse rider and dog walker but that's about it. Unfortunately we have lost a lot of them and are losing more! Hope your t140 serves you well!

    Hi, great see the videos. I am exploring on my BSA Bantam, 1965 set up for trials riding. One question: what it needed to keep road legal? I have no lights or speedo but understood You needed a horn? Any guidance would be welcome, thanks.
