I just bought the harmony elite. I was going to get the 665 but I have SmartThings and wanted to control it. I also wanted to control nest thermostat but they removed support after google took over. I’m just glad now I can control everything from one remote with ease for me and my wife. My wife wanted to cut my head off after she heard about the cost but is loving the favorite on the tv section she can just hit the channel and we are there.

I just got the Harmony 950 two days ago. I freaking LOVE it! I tried the hub first but it sucked with my google home, and my phone was dying faster then before using it as a remote so I took it back to best buy and invested a bit more and got the 950. Yeah it takes some time to properly program it but once it's done, it works flawesly!

Will the 650 work with devices that you cannot find the model numbers on (faded out) and will it work with most soundbars? In the process of replacing music system as well. Thanks for your help. An interesting question: all of my units connect through a Denon AVR (pass through). My wife (like yours) likes to use another remote that came with the cable box for TV. That means the Denon has to be set such that the passthrough is ALWAYS in cab/sat input so the signal gets through for TV watching. My old Harmony H628 software allowed me to set all other activities (ie: CD, DVD) such that when they are turned off, the Denon's INPUT is reset to Cab/Sat before it is turned 'off'. The 650/665 software won't provide that command on power off. Any suggestions? Thank you.
I have 3 Harmony Ultimate One, and I had two One+ prior and they all worked with any old USB cable I connected, maybe the cable you grabbed was a charging only cable
It's pretty strange but it's happened with both the Harmony Touch and this 650. I'm not sure what the issue is, maybe there's a different cable with a different speed or something. I'm not sure.
Agree with everything you said. Need some patience to make all together, but I miss the previous web page interface. Configuring this remote on win10 is an absolute nightmare, with the all too frequent updates of windows. For info, I am on my 4th Harmony.
I loved using the Harmony 650 and 700, but I found with both of them, the soft buttons around the LCD screen wore out within a year of use. I switched to the Soft Touch model which I'm using now.
I just got a harmony 700 off ebay for like 30 bucks and I am so impressed by how this remote can literally control everything. I have an LG TV which came out like a month ago and the software recognized the model immediately. Hell even my 17 year old PS2 is recognized as well!!! Amazing product. Buy one if u have many components in your setup, its worth it. And I will be putting Harmony 350 remotes in all of the rooms in my home.
TD, well the thing about harmony remote is when it open all source at the same time tv receiver cable box.. its very bad!! because you will mostly have handshake problems.. as i had sound was keep cuting on my cable box source and find out it was handshake issue causing by that damn remote...

Great review, I learned a lot. I have the same remote but find the numbered buttons to change the tv channel on my directv box very sensitive. Way sensitive in fact. I turned down the repeat button function on the remote to zero, but that hasn’t helped. It’s a good remote otherwise. Thank you!
I have just purchased a Logitech 650 remote and watched your video on youtube you mentioned you had an apple 4K tv. Well I g have too but in Australia we have a sports show called Kayo but the remote won’t fast forward or rewind on this programme but it does on other prog .any suggestions please.
@@TechnoDad I think the device is amazing for what it does but I had a bad experience. Probably attributed towards a "renewed" listing I bought for the 650. The buttons were registering inputs just from simply moving the controller. I already returned it and plan to try again with the 655 (new instead of "refurb" or "renewed").

I need help. I have entered favorite channels on to my 655 Harmony remote HDM1 Samsung tv. I synched them. When I try to change channels the remote still does not work. I would actually prefer to do it the old fashioned way, by just going up and down but it will not let me. I can oly enter 23 favorite channels. It seems so easy for most young people but my brain just does not get how to do this. I have hired a Geek guy($100) to help me, scheduled for next week, but I would obviously prefer figuring this out. Any suggestions? Thank you!

Hi! Yes it does, but it sees the Oppo as a home theater because it has volume controls. Even though that's the case, I have zero problems controlling the Oppo with the Harmony remote.

I found the answer...program the dash/dot button (to the left of the zero on the numbers pad) on the Harmony to be the same as on the original tv remote. In my case, it is a dash. Then, when entering digital numbers into the Harmony software, I need to enter them as 32-1, 11-1, etc.
I have a Denon AVR X6400H (my second Denon) set up in my movie room and am in the process of setting up Alexa with my Harmony remote, but before I can start that setup, I need to figure out why when I power on my LG TV with the TV remote or the AVR with the AVR remote, it powers on my Samsung blue ray player ever time. Retraced all my wiring and gone through all the HDMI set up in the AVR but can't seem to figure out how to stop the blue ray from powering up when the TV or AVR is turned on....help
Completely not true about the usb cable. I’ve used multiple different universal cables to connect up to my computer with zero issue. Must just be something on your end. Also, those acoustic panels on your wall aren’t doing too much - you really need to have a full room treatment for those to have a desired effect. Might want to switch to a different mic and mixer too.
bugger,, wish i knew how easy it was to unbox :P i cut myself... those corners are sharp.. 650 is good as long as you don't need that extra button that must be programmed.... I do like the fact you can have multiple devices to power on per Activity. Except "no TH-cam button" Oh ya... don't make the mistake i did, and attempt to try and control Apple TV 3, because it doesn't support CEC..(won't switch inputs) you need Apple TV 4 at least.
It is a n ok remote 2 things I don't like 1 battery drain 2 having had mine a while the paint has started wearing from the keys. It functions ok and for pc owners is easy enough to set up. 7 out of 10.

Update: I bought the 655 and now I am MEGA satisfied. Definitely the renewed listing I bought was at fault.

I have been using this logitech because I'm constantly changing AVRs. When I'm back with my Denon I'll go back to using my Harmony Touch.

I have the 700. Great remote I think the only difference is one has rechargeable battery’s.

Under Manufacturer, I selected Microsoft and then put Xbox as the device name and it figured it out

Unfortunately, no. You have to step up to the Harmony HUB which is substantially more expensive
I had that remote and it broke on me. Now I think it’s because I was using the wrong cable because it would never show up on any of my computers (Mac or PC). Since its only 40 bucks I think I’ll give it another try.
I lost the original USB cable that came with my remote. Found out by chance that the cable that came with my Arlo cameras work.

What happened to the learning feature on remotes. Is just terrible u need to own a laptop or computer to set up a remote. Remotes got cheap lately ☹️

This remote was discontinued and that’s why prices went up. Also, Logitech stopped making these Harmony remotes, so there’s that as well.
