So I'm curious, why are attending physician paid so little in comparison to physicians who have completed residency. For instance an Anesthesiologist makes over 400k while an attending anesthesiologist make only 200 to 240k, even though the attending has completed fellowships.

An anesthesiologist is an attending too. In general “attending” anesthesiologists make more than attending hospitalists.
