    Really appreciate the detail of this review and comprehensive explanation. Super helpful and one of the best descriptions I've seen. I'm now following and looking forward to more helpful advice from The School of Photography

    Marc, thanks for making an excellent video on the SW271C. I bought the 271 in November and it is fantastic. You've helped me learn about more of the features of this great monitor.

    Great review ... plus, your delivery covered a series of other stuff I needed to know in a well organized bullet point type talk. I learned a lot in a short time. Many thanx! 👍

    Would this have good compatibility with new MacBook Pro M1 Pro laptops with the thunderbolt 4 connection?

    I just ordered this monitor. I hesitated between a 32" BenQ PD series and this one. Because the SW321C was a bit over budget for me. It's an investment so I chose quality over size and went for the 27" SW271C. Now, the part that still is confusing to me is the sRGB & Adobe RGB profiles and more precise, working in them. You say a couple of times that sRGB is voor web publishing and that Adobe RGB is for printing. I get that. But does this mean that when, for example, I edit 500 wedding photos that I deliver digitally to my client.... I edit them in sRGB. But if I'm doing an wedding album or separate prints (not in house), I need to re-edit those photos .... in Adobe RGB? So I have to edit and save the same photos two times? I know the difference is not huge - it's mostly saturation, simply put - but it's there.
    What happens if I always edit all my photos in Adobe RGB (wide color gamut) and just export them in sRGB at the end. In Lightroom for instance. Is this going to give me problems? Are the photos going to look different on sRGB monitors (and every other normal screen)? More saturated?

      The best practice would be to save each raw file in both Adobe RGB and sRGB. Make sure to label each file so you know which is what.

    Hi Mark What PC do you use to connect with the BenQ Monitor. Looking to upgrade all my kit so the 27 inch i Mac is a contender but this review has made me think again. Thanks.

    is this worth the huge price increase vs the other monitors that are in the $500-$800 price range that are still 4K 100% sRGB/Rec 709?

    Couple of questions. Is the "C" version worth the extra if I only do photography? Secondly, how easy is the screen to clean? Some antiglare coatings are very soft and difficult to clean. Thanks for the review and information.

      Hi Dave, the screen is easy to clean and the main difference with the C version is the video editing capabilities. Hope that helps

      @@theschoolofphotography Thanks for that. What do you use to clean any smudges on the BenQ monitors in your place?

      @@theschoolofphotography The 'C' version is that it has a usbc port.

    Thanks for a wonderful review. Can you help me understand the modes? If I edit photos (in Photoshop) that are going to be displayed digitally/online, what mode should I edit in? Also, what mode would I work with if again using Photoshop the final images will be printed? Finally if I edit video in Final Cut Pro for TH-cam, what mode is that? Thanks!

    Hi Marc , excellent video I have just recently bought a Benq monitor as I used to edit on my laptop screen and WOW did not realise what I have been missing, I heard the ref to a calibration tool and a must, I have not done that yet as I was amazed with the colours,care you saying that it will be further enhanced if I buy one 😲

    Is this monitor also really good for CG design, or is it perfectly made only for photographers?
    Because it's not worth it for me to give so much money on a monitor which full quality I wont be able to see as a CG designer.

    i have read that this is 8bit + frc MONITOR. What does this mean please, because I understand it IS not a 10 bit.

    • @danielemilazzo432
      @danielemilazzo432 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The other 2 bits are made in software

    • @chesslover8829
      @chesslover8829 ปีที่แล้ว

      Note that 8-bit produces about 16 million colors. The vast majority of people can only see less than 10 million colors.

    So a 10-bit monitor can actually print?!

  • @chesslover8829
    @chesslover8829 ปีที่แล้ว

    This monitor is not true 10-bit color. It's 8-bit plus FRC.
