Namaste Nitinji, The duration can be from 5sec. to 30 sec., it depends upon how comfortably you can hold the posture. no force. Anantasana pose should be done on both side. it great to strength the QL muscles i.e quadrates lumborum, It very good for back issues. It will definately increase the blood flow. so for sure useful for varicose veins. While its quite an intense asana, specially if you are having bp, just check after doing the asana how do you feel.
