Dear Barbara, l love watching these journal making videos. You are right in saying that you may feel differently from us about the style of your artwork. From my perspective, it very much looked like a typical 49 Dragonflies creation. It definitely felt like your style, to me. But as a creator, you become quite focussed on the details and see things from a different point of view. You have inspired me to make a few soft cover journals lately. I find them to be easy to use and vey satisfying from an ASMR perspective too 😊 My most recent one was for my daughter who lives on the other side of the country - a four hour plane flight away. Because it was covered in fabric, and had some fabric pages inside, l sprayed them with my perfume (which l always wear). So now the journal smells like mum 👩 😁😁😁. To stop the paper bag images showing through, l add another layer of plain fabric. I also added a layer of baking paper - for that extra crinkly sound, before sewing together all the layers. We don’t have easy access to Tim Holtz fabric, but this is not an issue. I start with plain fabric, tea and ink stain it. Then stamp it with images which l then iron to "fix" them to the fabric. Very personal. One such journal is covered with butterflies and dragonflies. Have a beautiful day, Barbara 🇦🇺

I think your style is constantly evolving. It also depends on which journal you are using whether you go grungy or shabby chic vintage or another style. This is one of the things that keeps your videos so interesting although I enjoy watching all your videos just to hang out as I am in a desert when it comes to papercrafters in real life.

It is different from your usual style, but it still reflects you. I like this kit a lot. I love watching you making your planners and find the videos inspiring. I started making planners, but use an A4 exercise book and can fit 8 months into them. Love, love doing them. It is an easy create for me, because I still suffer from a Covid brain...it is improving slowly but surely and my doctor encouraged me to accept my "limitations" and not stress so much about them. Stressing hampers my progress she stressed. Apparently Long Covid causes some neurological damage and stressing does not help overcoming it. So I also addressed my post card to me and stressed that I must be really kind to myself. Thank you for your inspiring videos and your encouragement in my healing process. It is taking really long, but everyday bring its own small victory. God bless you richly. Kind regards from South Africa.

so don’t see the green just re fold so the green is on the inside and brown outside that’s what i do when it shows through my paper or fabric, beautiful fabrics btw and love the new kit ❤
It always amazes me that Europeans always rip your fabric 😂 we use a rotary cutter or scissors. Although I haven’t used scissors in years. I only use scissors when I absolutely have to 😂. I even have one for paper but I do rip most paper in journals. Very pretty fabric, had no idea that Tim Holtz had fabric, but I have so much fabric it’s quite crazy really but as a quilter also it’s just an obsession lol. I love watching your videos ❤

I was sorry to be shocked by the book description at the end. I really like that you show us how you'll use the things you make. So that was nice. But your channel is sweet, friendly, safe, and kind. I was pretty upset by hearing a description of a horror book in that context. I wonder if you will consider keeping all of your content in that light-hearted tone, and not mixing in the dark stuff.😊
As usual I just love your work and the book that you just made.. I'm actually going to make another one for my granddaughter for her birthday...she has requested another one she has one already but I am going to make the paper bag one and she likes the vagabond kind of characters so that's the feel of this particular book that I'll be making. I love these covers you're making! I'm jealous of your paper bags. Where I live now, in Texas, we get biodegradable plastic bags - no paper. When I was living in CA we got no bags at all. So sad. If I ever find somewhere you can get paper bags I'll have to shop several times and hoard them - even if they're stashed in a suitcase! I have some of that Tim Holtz fabric on the way. I can't wait to use it!

Oh what a cool kit, I'm loving the old photos😍 especially the dancing girls! Aww cute card, homemade ones are the best! I loved making my first paper bag cover and will definitely make more with my stash of Amazon bags. Only one of our stores use paper which is shocking! Gorgeous fabrics 😍 I've been printing digitals on cotton and calico to save money. I've got lots of favourite glues but always happy to find out more info. I love that iron, hate doing the ironing 🙈. Yes I only print on matt photo paper now. Yummy lace 😍. The kit is definitely different from your others. Lol that's why I stopped using graph paper for my templates🙊. I don’t know if this would’ve worked but since you cut the bag open, could you have turned it inside out to where the green print would’ve been on the inside? Es ist ein himmelweiter Unterschied, da gebe ich dir recht! Ich hab mich jetzt auch an ein Plannerjournal gesetzt… es fühlt sich richtig an 😊. Hallo Barbara, ich finde dein neues Papier klasse. Ich finde man sollte als Künstler auch immer mal was Neues ausprobieren. Du hast in diesem Fall das Neue mit dem was du sonst immer machst super gemischt. Ich finde es sehr stimmig und bin gespannt, ob du in Zukunft weiter experimentierst. Also von mir ein Daumen nach oben :-)))) Ich mag deine Videos, weil du immer sehr interessant erzählst und dich nicht in sonstigen Erzählungen verlierst. Du bleibst immer am Thema. Was ich nun durch dich festgestellt habe ist, dass ich mir bevor ich mit dem Journal starte, erstmal alles was rein soll und dazu passt zusammenstelle und dann erst loslege. Danke dafür. Ich sass immer am Tisch und lief beim basteln hin und her, weil ich dachte ach da habe ich noch was das ich nehmen kann und dort.....war immer total gestresst davon. Hätte ich wohl auch selber drauf kommen können, aber manchmal sieht man den Wald vor Bäumen nicht. Werde mir nächsten Monat dein Papier kaufen. Diesen klappt das nicht mehr. lg

I was sorry to be shocked by the book description at the end. I really like that you show us how you'll use the things you make. So that was nice. But your channel is sweet, friendly, safe, and kind. I was pretty upset by hearing a description of a horror book in that context. I wonder if you will consider keeping all of your content in that light-hearted tone, and not mixing in the dark stuff.😊

As usual I just love your work and the book that you just made.. I'm actually going to make another one for my granddaughter for her birthday...she has requested another one she has one already but I am going to make the paper bag one and she likes the vagabond kind of characters so that's the feel of this particular book that I'll be making. I love these covers you're making! I'm jealous of your paper bags. Where I live now, in Texas, we get biodegradable plastic bags - no paper. When I was living in CA we got no bags at all. So sad. If I ever find somewhere you can get paper bags I'll have to shop several times and hoard them - even if they're stashed in a suitcase! I have some of that Tim Holtz fabric on the way. I can't wait to use it!

Oh what a cool kit, I'm loving the old photos😍 especially the dancing girls! Aww cute card, homemade ones are the best! I loved making my first paper bag cover and will definitely make more with my stash of Amazon bags. Only one of our stores use paper which is shocking! Gorgeous fabrics 😍 I've been printing digitals on cotton and calico to save money. I've got lots of favourite glues but always happy to find out more info. I love that iron, hate doing the ironing 🙈. Yes I only print on matt photo paper now. Yummy lace 😍. The kit is definitely different from your others. Lol that's why I stopped using graph paper for my templates🙊. Lol eeuw mystery🙊 I love that that's a genre. That's quite a heavy story 🙈. That's weird knowing the murderer at the beginning. Another very beautiful journal 😍😍😍. Tfs and have a great day 💖💖💖

Barbara, this turned out so very pretty. Love the material you used for the cover. Your planner papers are so pretty. I don’t know if this would’ve worked but since you cut the bag open, could you have turned it inside out to where the green print would’ve been on the inside? It’s nice it’s more then just a planner, how you added special things inside that happened that month. Love it! TFS! ❤

Ich mag es auch nicht zu bügeln 🙈… Stoff fürs Journal ist immer etwas anders! 😉 Mttlerweile klebe ich lieber mein Fotopapier auf dickes, normales Papier, bevor ich direkt darauf drucke. Es ist ein himmelweiter Unterschied, da gebe ich dir recht! Ich hab mich jetzt auch an ein Plannerjournal gesetzt… es fühlt sich richtig an 😊. Dein Planner ist wieder absolut wundervoll geworden und ja, dein Papier ist vom Design her anders als sonst. Ich finde aber, es passt zu dir und deinem Stil! 👍 Vielen Dank für das Video!

Hallo Barbara, ich finde dein neues Papier klasse. Ich finde man sollte als Künstler auch immer mal was Neues ausprobieren. Du hast in diesem Fall das Neue mit dem was du sonst immer machst super gemischt. Ich finde es sehr stimmig und bin gespannt, ob du in Zukunft weiter experimentierst. Also von mir ein Daumen nach oben :-)))) Ich mag deine Videos, weil du immer sehr interessant erzählst und dich nicht in sonstigen Erzählungen verlierst. Du bleibst immer am Thema. Was ich nun durch dich festgestellt habe ist, dass ich mir bevor ich mit dem Journal starte, erstmal alles was rein soll und dazu passt zusammenstelle und dann erst loslege. Danke dafür. Ich sass immer am Tisch und lief beim basteln hin und her, weil ich dachte ach da habe ich noch was das ich nehmen kann und dort.....war immer total gestresst davon. Hätte ich wohl auch selber drauf kommen können, aber manchmal sieht man den Wald vor Bäumen nicht. Werde mir nächsten Monat dein Papier kaufen. Diesen klappt das nicht mehr. lg

Do you mean a hidden spine? If so, I think I usually sew through the paper bag.
