Wise words, directly from someone who doesn't know what they are talking about. You never clarified "line of work" by the way. Stay in school? More like stay in denial if it makes you complacent. You shouldn't insult other people's ways to make a living, even if it's you lying to yourself for your own peace of mind which is what it appears to be. Regardless, I hate to break it to you, but you are entirely wrong. Reselling is highly profitable, if you know what you are selling, and where to source it. It's fun, exciting and each day is different. Oh yeah, and there is nobody to answer to. Sorry if I woke you up with this message. I realize that it's Sunday night. My wife bought me a recliner for Christmas from Amazon when you sit on it the chair it is really hard to recline, So my wife called amazon and they said that they cant take it back and said you have to keep it and we will refund your money $484 bucks i almost passed out lol
They arent making money, they have never had a profitable year. There is this new business model employed by them, uber, etc where they prioritize growth initially then hope to find a way to male it profitable down the road. Sounds like a bust waiting to happen to me
This was a great video to watch if you have ever been in sales and then luckily got out. Man buys a liquidated return box for $200 claiming it was worth $2000 and expected to get things of value. The time it will take to buy a power cord for a $20 projector he will lose even more money. Karma can be a little bit of a B when you admittedly sell $40 "mystery boxes" and fill them with junk. You get what you give some times and that is coming from someone who made (then lost) a ton of money selling $400 vacuum cleaners for $3000 ($2500 if you want to pay cash or check lol) door to door. Thanks for the video!
JUst want to put this out there: I know people do scam Amazon by abusing their return policy, BUT, it is possible this was not a scam. It is possible the customer ordered the cheap projector and did not like it once it arrived(or it was faulty or it had damaged packaging) and then filed to return it while also deciding to splurge on quality and ordered the Epson projector. When it arrived they packaged the cheapo one in the Epson box to return it because it was a convenient shape and size (maybe they had tossed the original box or it was damaged). Amazon didn't re-lable it for the liquidators and the liquidators went by the model number on the box for determining MSRP... I am not saying this is likely, but I do want to suggest it is a reasonable possibility...not everything that looks scammy is one. It still stinks for you though, as you paid for a box expecting it to be holding a certain value and it didn't. Sorry.
To me the real scam is the prices you charge for some of the items. 10 bucks for a greeting card box that is missing some? Crazy that someone would even think of paying anywhere remotely close to that price. I saw one of your older videos where you got a sports t shirt with a hole in the front and you wanted 5 bucks for it. Crazy!!!
When reselling these items, he is not "scamming" anyone. Are you serious? Those greeting cards could be sold individually for a buck each and even if he was selling the bulk of the package for $10, as long as the buyer is aware of what they are getting, there is no scam. As far as the sports shirt having a hole in it goes, crafters would be interested in such buys as they can cut out the design and repurpose that into another item ie..a quilt, blanket, a tote bag that they make, etc. There are so many reasons why a person would buy an item that is flawed when they work in repurposing items, so it's not "crazy."
What is Amazon doing with these accounts that return crap for their send items? I do buy stuff from Amazon frequently and if I return something I will always make sure I have the right part in the original packaging that goes back. I wonder what Amazon does to these "Customers"
I’m pretty sure Amazon scrutinizes high cost item returns and does something about it behind their doors. All these boxes they liquidize are pretty much more money they get in return for clearing up stuff that have been in their warehouses for a long time. Also Amazon is getting rid of their used stuff in a strategic way luring ppl to buy these boxes.
Thanks for the lessons that you show, that someone does not always returning to company what they should and the company needs to work to stop what is a crime. One would be to check returns before they return these people there money.
You already have a zillion comments on this video so forgive me if your question has already been answered. The music box is playing Beethoven's "Fur Elise."
Just so you know, when you get these Otterbox cases that are screwed up, you can go on the Otterbox site and request a replacement for them. At most, you are out $5 for the replacement. Then you sell them full price on your site. MUCH MUCH more profit than just throwing them out or selling them for $1.
Didn't he say that you can get caught and booted from buying/selling on Amazon? That it isn't often but does happen with repeat offenders. Maybe your name gets flagged if you constantly make returns.
@@sheldonlatimer5911 It is so unfair to the people who buy the pallets, the theifs need to be shown it will not be put up with because now so many more will bo it!!
i doubt it. i bought an item which was damaged when took out of the perfect box so they sent it off the shelf broken I arranged return and was credited when the boxes was collected from the collection point. not when they got it back to there warehouse so they did not see the item before i got my money back. So i take it that thats what happens for every return. unless any one else can say differently
Hey Clint, big fan here. Something I thought about when you were showing us the projector is, how would you know if somebody ripped off amazon with a fake return item or if somebody is just using a different box for shipping? I know in this particular instance with the projector you’re most likely correct that the customer sent back the wrong projector on purpose, but in the past I myself have used random boxes to return or ship items if the original box is no longer available for use or just plain destroyed. Just a thought I had. Happy new year to you and the Mrs!
In this case I can tell because of the High Dollar amount of the total pallet. Amazon liquidated this pallet at a value of $2,255 and this item alone is worth $700. Without this item, the pallet comes nowhere close to the $2,000 value range. That is how you can tell it was a customer return bait and switch scam this time. Amazon liquidated this item at the $700 price point because that is what it was suppose to be.
Franchise Kicks I understand. I think it really sucks that people have to be so dishonest, they may not realize it but they’re screwing over actual people like you not just faceless companies. Sorry it happened to you Clint.
@DrScopeify - So lets get this straight...He buys returned, broken stuff hoping to "flip" it to people to make money...Like buying POPS loot boxes, breaking them up and selling them for double the price. And we're supposed to believe he got Scammed ??...He is a parasite
@@dcb1138 Most of the time these boxes/stuff isn't sold by Amazon itself, just labeled as Amazon return stuff. I believe you have to go to an external website to buff such stuff. If you send something back to Amazon, they usually don't check the contents, if the product has no impactful value (i.e. cheap clothes, smart phone cases, hygiene products and other stuff) they trash it immediadly, since checking would waste money. On the other hand, they check electronics very thoroughly, since they can be still resold at a high price. The trash gets auctioned off, people buy them in hopes to find something really valueable. I didn't watch the video, since this guy streches it to an unbearable long time, but in most cases buyers make only a minor fraction of the money back on what they had spend. Basically they buy trash in high hopes to find other people who buy their trash. It has barely anything to do with scamming, just a clickbait title.
I love watching your unboxings & wish I lived close to your store! Your wife does a great job too! It's fun to see all the weird things Amazon sells! I know they don't treat their employees good at all here in Washington State so maybe some employees are stomping on boxes, etc. LOL! SCAMMERS SUCK! It's the same as stealing! Employees aren't given lunch or bathroom breaks so I'm not surprised stuff gets scanned with out being looked at. They are pushed to move fast all the time. Mistakes are plenty. Tough on you trying to make a buck though.
I buy walmart pallets here in Northwest Arkansas, about 2 miles from Walmarts headquarters there is a liquidation place that sells full sized pallets (4'x4'x4') of returns and shelf pulls for $400. They also do Lowes pallets as well. I pick up 4 or 5 pallets a month to flip on Amazon and in my inside flea market space. Wife loves it it is like getting a pallet of blind boxes. Most of my power tools were acquired this way.
I love how you can see the FBA stickers on the products.... That means Amazon probably screwed their sellers out of that money and didn't pay anything for it. They actually made money liquidating it.
most products are not sold by amazon, people will send to their warehouse to sell and that is why u have prime, so Amazon still prob gets their fees from the seller.
on the Amazon website it states under returns that if Amazon deems the return resellable they put back in their inventory, and only when the 3rd party doesn't want to buy it back from amazon is when they liquidate it. I checked the other day because I wanted to know what their return policy was about free shipping. I might be way off but how do they know if a product can be resold without checking it out. i'm so confused.
That policy you are referring too is for items that are owned by 3rd party sellers and items not owned by Amazon. I am a 3rd party seller on Amazon and if I sell through Amazon FBA and a customer returns an item, 99% of the time Amazon DOES NOT check the item, they just refund the money and I put in the request to have the item shipped back to me to be inspected before they resell it for me again because I don't trust Amazon. 50% of the time the item is either used, damaged or a totally different item than what it should be and Amazon NEVER checked the item and they were going to resell it again for me but I ALWAYS put in into an unsellable status so I get it back to check it over because once again, Amazon does not actually check returns. Amazon is like a playground for customer scams and Amazon does nothing to stop it, hell they are even apart of the problem.
@@jasemoutdoors2131 Where are you getting your info? The Military almost always bids on the lowest price point for products and equipment, the exception in the last almost 20 years being Cheney and the ties to private company contract bias, the Military was being charged exuberant fees for things like laundry services (200 dollars a load) at overseas/deployed bases and whatnot with little efficacy. Water treatment was poor and constantly was a health hazard, and some other stuff like that-- but it wasn't the DoD charging that, it was the commercial and private sector, those days are over for the most part now.
@@Lark_Vivian sounds like it's a bit of a "loophole" to save a few bucks when there is some efficacy in returning a defective or unwanted product, but it shouldn't be abused like the scammers are doing, and Amazon and the FTC need to be investigating and better vetting those people and the return products.

Yes they do....but not very often because Amazon only goes after the big time abusers of their relaxed return policy that leads to easy customer return scams. @@FranchiseKicks That projector very well should have deserved a basic check. Everything is so digitized their, they know the value of the return item, they can have a threshold and if the value is above that they could trigger a mandatory minimal check if at least the item matches what it should be (just a quick open and check). If it was up to me I'd make quick check for every item, nasty scammers profit even with smaller value items because if there many their "revenue" adds up.
I'm a total newbie and novice to Amazon pallets but I even have the good sense not to buy used or return pallets!, I only want to buy shelf pulls and overstock items!, theirs lots of people willing to gamble with their money hoping they will come out ahead of the game when buying pallets like this but it's not for me!. How are you scammed? If the items on the pallets of various return items from amazon are not specified at or before purchase, you are not scammed at all.
The MSRP of items in pallets IS known at the time of purchase. If someone buys a $700 projector and replaced it with a scrappy projector worth around $40, both he and Amazon were both scamm ed! But it is Amazon's return policy that is troubling.

Sorry.
You're an idiot
@@anthonycarpenter5032 take that back you damned heathen,,,,, I ought to give you a whitmans assortment to the back of the head for such insolence
Crazy!!!
Things are worth what someone is willing to pay.
i agree mate
I would of just gave the cards to goodwill. Guess he has to try to make that money back.
If they get caught they will be banned from amazon and there credit card and name will be black listed.

Nothing. Amazon don't care.
Something like this www.practicalecommerce.com/retailers-including-amazon-crack-return-fraud
I’m pretty sure Amazon scrutinizes high cost item returns and does something about it behind their doors. All these boxes they liquidize are pretty much more money they get in return for clearing up stuff that have been in their warehouses for a long time. Also Amazon is getting rid of their used stuff in a strategic way luring ppl to buy these boxes.
which means they screwed this guy over on purpose.

Just so you know, when you get these Otterbox cases that are screwed up, you can go on the Otterbox site and request a replacement for them. At most, you are out $5 for the replacement. Then you sell them full price on your site. MUCH MUCH more profit than just throwing them out or selling them for $1.
Do the customers who return these items to Amazon ever get caught? Doesn’t Amazon ever do anything about the scams these people pull? It’s insane.

Most of the time these boxes/stuff isn't sold by Amazon itself, just labeled as Amazon return stuff.
The projector brand is Cheerlux, that's why the CL model. It sells for $32.
They are available brand new from Gearbest for $136

Tough on you trying to make a buck though.
That's why you don't buy these lots. Scary af
I would love to see the actual retail value of each item as you show what you would sell it for store see if it's actually what Amazon says it is.

Hey Clint have you ever tried buying Wal-Mart pallets or Target pallets?
Yes I use to buy both of them a couple of years ago
do you actually talk like that? Can I get a like, Target pallet?
Edit: oh look, you fixed it.
@@ProfessorDantheScienceMan what's the name of the place? I'm in central Arkansas but I'd like to know. Thanks!
It is in Tonitown ninos trading they have 1 in little rock too
I love how you can see the FBA stickers on the products.... That means Amazon probably screwed their sellers out of that money and didn't pay anything for it. They actually made money liquidating it.
I think Amazon knows exactly what it's putting in the boxes. I doubt they're losing money.
most products are not sold by amazon, people will send to their warehouse to sell and that is why u have prime, so Amazon still prob gets their fees from the seller.
Amazon should be ashamed of the crap they put in their pallets.
on the Amazon website it states under returns that if Amazon deems the return resellable they put back in their inventory, and only when the 3rd party doesn't want to buy it back from amazon is when they liquidate it.
@@Lark_Vivian I was thinking the same thing...
Amazon is the best place for scammers, keeps me wondering why someone tries to scamm on ebay when it is so much easier to do this on amazon :)
Looks like Amazon doesn't check returns before refunding money. Not a good business practice at all. Even Wal-Mart checks the return item.

Yes they do....but not very often because Amazon only goes after the big time abusers of their relaxed return policy that leads to easy customer return scams. @@FranchiseKicks Well if I was in the US I probably would have offered you $40. And that was not a sympathy offer.
