    Hi mate just came across your channel what paint would you recommend for kitchen units ?? like eggshell finish

    I use Helmi for furniture and trim painting. Brilliant paint especially over the Otex primer undercoat. Thinned with a drop of water it goes on like silk and with a Rota foam roller it comes up almost like a spray finish. I think the Helmi 10 is a tiny bit shinier than eggshell while the 30 is a bit less shiny than a satin. Both look equally great and once cured are as tough as old boots. Although it’s touch dry in an hour or less and can take an overcoat in 2-3 hours it does take about a week to fully cure so the customer needs to be made aware of this. For my money it’s the best furniture/trim paint by a country mile.

      Tony: I've never used a foam roller on Helmi always gone for the mohair type, I assume you've used both so what you reckon is best for Helmi 80 foam or mohair? Thanx in advance

      @@simoncloake8051 Two Fussy Blokes are great rollers. The are microfiber and I would use the short pile for that fine sprayed finish look. You can get them from MyPaintbrush online. The red box. The green box is medium pile which are also good

    Is it necessary to sand down the woodwork when using adhesion primer?

    • @danielnugent2168
      @danielnugent2168 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not really as Zinsser primers always state on the tin no need to sand down.

    Daniel, do you think the Tikkurila vinyl matt colour is overall better than the Johnstones vinyl matt?
    The tikkurila durable matt good gear nice n flat touches up great 2.

      Yes the optiva colour is great as its a latex paint so it dries nice and flat. Also you can get any colour in a 9 litre tub.

      It's really good. No flashing or roller marks. It's a latex paint and has a nice flat finish
