This is so good, and so accurate. It is exactly how I have learned to do it at university in UK. He has incorporated all the tailoring techniques, like opening the lining to finish the cuffs nicely, or attaching the lining to the jacket at the shoulders.
U r a lifesaver! I'm making a bomber jacket for part of my submission and my lecturers are useless so I turn to TH-cam for help (the irony). Thank you!!!!!
You did such an amazing job! I've been searching on TH-cam for some months now trying to figure out how to construct a bomber correctly and everybody avoids how to explain the hem waistband part. You are such a great talent and i appreciate you for making this video, Such great Help and Accurate!
Thank you so much! It is one that i have always struggled with is there isn't much help and is a really great looking sew! Hopefully you continue to follow other videos :)
+Stargurl Brookz Thank you so much, I have started doing these videos in the hopes that they would help someone so its amazing to hear positive feedback from everyone! 😁
Would have been great if this was slowed down so we could see details. The speed of the video, combined with the music make it difficult to follow along. But your jacket turned out nice.
Great... Is there a way some of us can watch both parts slower? I will pay. This is by far the best tutorial on a bomber jacket that I really want to learn to make. Think about it. I'm a new sewer and I need to make this bomber jacket..
Love this! I'm self taught too and mainly make the girls costumes and themed dresses! Been looking for a tutorial to make them some bomber jackets (probably disney style) and this is awesome! Well done! Not biased because your from my town or anything Haaa this is genuinely great! Good luck on the sewing bee! Will be watching 👍
+Olsen Family Snippets Hey Carly! Really appreciate the comment and support. Brilliant, being self taught is nothing to be ashamed of, it shows we have worked hard to find the solution. Even if sometimes is not right or takes a long time! Thanks again. Please tag me on Instagram/facebook/twitter if you do make anything for the girls from this video!
what the fuck, you genius!! I've been trying to figure out the way to sew this jacket properly, with the lining and everything. FINALLY someone who knows what they're doing =) thank you so much!
I recently made a bomber from scratch, based on two other YT tutorials. It turned out lookin really "DIY" 😅 so I don't think I'm even going to wear it.. Just wanted to try making one & trying to figure out how to make a new one, the proper way! Def gonna use your tutorial this time! But I'd have to watch it a couple more times.. Was a bit fast for me.. I was wondering how to insert that zipper "flap" (if you know what I mean) & the little squares in front of the ribbed knit, to give it an authentic bomber look. Any thoughts on that? Or would you say, just leave em out, way to complicated 😅 Anyway, awesome job! 🙌🔥
+Jl Sp Hey! Thanks so much for the lovely comments and great feedback. I am still trying to strike the right balance between the video not being too long but being slow enough and in enough detail. Not entirely sure what you mean by the zipper flap? In terms of the authentic centre squares, I have done some brief work on them and I believe that you need to attach the square to the facing/lining and jacket. Then only sew the ribbing to each section of the square so that there is still an opening insert the zip in. Then when you top stitch the square it will close the gaps on the inside. It is quite hard to explain, and wanted to try and keep the video down in terms of time, thus why it was not in this video. So glad that you found it of use, I will be trying to upload as much as possible. If you decide to make one then please tag me on social media, it would be so cool to see! Thanks again 😍
Hey Sarah, It completely depends on the feel that you want to create. I wanted a very out wear sturdy fabric so I chose this quite touch wool fabric. If you want the jackets structure to stand out then I would suggest heavier fabrics. Hope this helps.
you can slow the speed by going to the setting looking tool and change the speed to 0.5 you'll better understand him and what's going on
I just created a rain jacket from this tutorial 😁 I used the same methods as you did and i added a hood ! great job

what material would you suggest for the outer fabric?
Hey Sarah,
It completely depends on the feel that you want to create. I wanted a very out wear sturdy fabric so I chose this quite touch wool fabric. If you want the jackets structure to stand out then I would suggest heavier fabrics.
Hope this helps.
thanks so much :)
This was too fast to see clearly to understand what you were doing. I wish you would have slowed down.
great, pity it goes so fast
Great vid but I think u should slow it down a bit... Thanks!!

Wasn't this the guy who was on the sewing bee??
