If i had a nickel for every time Tauros was a anti-meta pick this generation i would have two nickels, wich isn't much but it's weird that it happened twice
I’m glad I’m not the only one who sees this. In singles it’s a very good antimeta pick as well, with its typing and signature move allowing it to do well against snow teams that are dominating right now with alolan ninetails. It’s typing allows it to resist ice stab and makes it a fighting type that is neutral to fairy and it can destroy veil while doing super effective damage with the blaze form, intimidate is a fantastic ability, solid bulk, flame charge for speed, and an amazing STAB combination. This was truly a solid revamp for Tauros that breathed relevancy back into its LONG dead lungs.
If S-Tier mons were all that mattered, there'd be a lot more contention for vgc championships. Team building, in-battle decisions, knowing the meta and what stands up to it... It's a lot more than just the top tier mons.
From a competitor stand point i get why mons get used on a majority of teams, like why not use the strongest option available But from a spectator standpoint i also get that seeing the same mons in most matches is boring cause spectators dont know the evs and ivs till after the match if the creator even shares it. so while one lando T may be build for bulk another may be built purely offensive alls the audience sees is 2 lando T
Man I really hate the negativity people have towards VGC, it’s such a fun format to watch and mons that you almost never see used in singles stand out a lot more.
I feel like a good example of a good VGC Pokemon who’s bad in singles is Tornadus-I. Tornadus-I is pretty bad in singles, especially in this Gen and the previous one (NUBL), but in VGC, it’s a Prankster user with Tailwind which makes it very significant
Moxie that was a good explanation of team building and how "Innovation" works in a game like Pokemon. I also watch MrJamvad and he teaches a lot about competitive. Mainly, you have to understand a meta before innovating in a meta. Bringing Bellibolt is cool but can you win consistently with it?
Seeing that tauros reminded me of a team I built in like reg C it had a froslass and a tauros as its main leads with dozogiri in the back froslass was for speed control with thunder wave and icy wind and tauros was the attacker with wisp to burn things it was a good team and pretty reliable at setting up dozogiri
about quarter an hour after a watched this video i made a National dex doubles team for showdown with anger point tauros and krookodile. its the most hit or miss team ive ever built. i flower trick my flame charging tauros and then eq and rockslide everyon into dust
no, like, actually why did kingambit take less than a quarter hp from a quad effektive drain punch iron hands was burned yes, but... ITS A FUCCIN IRON HANDS, HUH?
@@MoxieBoosted I watched it twice, but I think you only explained why tauros is good and not its weaknesses? What I'm more curious about is what it's bad into. Or in what scenarios it underperforms compared to other fire types like arcanine Or am I missing something lol
I’m trying to cook not burn down the kitchen… Me as a yugioh player, that made me so happy because I’m running a deck right now that is typically pretty strong but I have some really weird ratios and picks that most people look at me and go why are you running this…? Meanwhile, I’ve been having a lot of fun and managing to win a couple games. I probably had no right winning.
Dumb team idea: run a specs flutter mane and a charjabug, oneshot iron hands with battery boosted moonblasts while spamming string shot with charjabug.
26:38 Also, glasses only increase the damage of dark moves by 10% While Dread Plates increase the damage of dark moves by 20% Its the same logic with all the type booster items and the type-plates
@@MoxieBoosted Huh? I suppose it’s a “new” thing then (as in it was changed in 1 of the older gen’s) cuz when I search it up that’s what it said I’m new to Pokémon (gen 9 is my 1st game) so I’m relying a lot on google to know the ropes XD
It's so funny to hear pokemon youtubers insist they're being creative and unique by changing one pokemon in a meta team. Teching in a rogue pick in an established archetype is a good competitive skill, but it's far from creativity and it's so silly to keep trying to sell content as that.
A MoxieBoosted video, but every time Moxie makes a mistake, he has to take a direct Force Palm to the back from Brian Hands.
So you want a JoJo's Ora ora compilation.
We would have no more moxie boosted
Brian Hands: Good night, *G A M E R*

It’s good to see Brian Hands becoming a reoccurring character on this channel!
More creators are saying Brian hands now too 😂😂
Love watching Moxie while eating uncooked ravioli straight out of the can, because I’m just that guy
Hes just that guy
seeing Kingambit survive what any other steel type pokemon on the game wouldn't just goes hard, nobody does it like him.
I read it as "No one likes him"💀
Though I do fkn hate kingambit for winning entire games he shouldn't
No Gen 9 is just stupid

Love that Tauros has been given some relevance with its new forms!

Brian Hands is a true staple of the channel!
Brian Hands being voiced by the text-to-speech voice just fits.
after this video, tauros is gonna be at 105% usage
Shitting on VGC for lack of creativity and then singing the praises of Smogon sungle OU, where creativity goes to die, is actually wild.

Ty Mr. Brian Hands for the stellar intro 🙏
I kid you not, minutes after this came out the bottom of showdown singles were all using tauros

When it comes to team building it should be said that a good team for regular gameplay probably isn’t good for competitive.
