"Can you tell me the names of all the pokemon in front of you?" Me:"yes" "So what are they?" Me: "you didn't ask what their names are, you just asked if I can tell you"
It doesn’t really matter though, since Luke just has to say which one he wants. Knowing where they is redundant if you know the name of each one at that point.
I realized that the question was "Can you please give me the names of each Pokemon?", the question is not "What are the names of each Pokemon?". This means that he could have answered with "Yes, I could, but I won't" while speaking truthfully and simply not have said the names.
10:52 check the side of its head. Black spikes facing upwards for the dark type Single Strike Urshifu, and white spikes facing downward for the water type Rapid Strike Urshifu.
Luke legit could’ve shown the feet in the last round in any order that he wanted. The question was simply to show each starter’s feet, not to do it in order. Similarly, that Galarian Slowking didn’t have to be specified. The question was about the name of each Pokémon, and the name of Galarian Slowking is just “Slowking”.
Wartortle is on the cover of Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon riding Charizard's back, so Rich was right either way with Wartortle/Blastoise being on a game cover
I feel like you need to add a rule called the Genie clause to this, where you answer their questions truthfully, but in whatever context you decide. For example, when asked what their names are, you up and name them on the spot.
I absolutely LOVED this video! The idea was super fun and I liked that it’s kinda a mix of a bunch of previous starter ideas into one! Plus, anything you upload is always a banger
That was so good! I love how it allows each creator to be so, well, creative with the question asks. And I actually really enjoyed you guys being able to ask the really OP questions like what their names were. It was super fun to watch.
Something cool to consider for the future if the box art question is ever asked again is that the Hisui starter base forms, Pikachu, Staraptor, Lucario, Bidoof, Rhyhorn, and Ralts are all featured on the cover of Legends Arceus (you can't see Ralts on the box itself but it is on the Switch icon, it's on Rhyhorn's back)
Hey Luke. I have a then we fight idea. It's similar to catching mons to spell a word that you're given. However, you have to spell any 6 letter word you can think of by choosing your starters. You're given just the first letter of each starter, as your choosing your starters, you're trying to spell any word you can. If you are given letters you can't use, you have to skip and your opponent is given the chance to picker a starter in order to spell their word. First person to spell a word gets a neat little bonus like choosing any ability for one of their pokemon or something. And then you battle. For example, you're given the letters C - L - B, you choose C. The. Your next lot of Starters Are A - B - C, you can't really use B or C to spell a word beginning with C, so you choose A. You keep going, and your letters so far are C-A-R-R, but then you get to starters that are Q-X-R you can't use those, so your opponent gets the chance to take a pokemon, and they get an advantage cause they know what the pokemon are, but they can also choose to skip if they can't use a letter. You keep going till you have your word/team.
Yo this concept is great, the plethera of questions you can ask makes it very unique and fun. Great stuff as always Luke and Rich was lovely guest as always.
Love the vine whip idea because it would make Vic better for play outside of grasshole teams. I think this would also discourage use of grasshole overall
If you ever do this kind if vid again a few ideas for questions could be Asking for the typings of the pokemon on screen Asking for their abilities Asking what their highest base stat is Asking what the first letter is Asking if any have a regional variant Asking the generation each came out in Theres obviously more and probably better questions but these are just ones i thought of, hope it helps out in a future vid, i love your stuff ❤
I like this open-ended question setup! Maybe try where you can only ask about one of the three Pokemon. (So either "Which of the three...?" or "Tell me ___ about the Pokemon on the L/C/R")
But then it'd be a command, not a question, which isn't legal either. "Can you tell me ____?" "Tell me ____." Gotta start with a who/what/when/where/which/how/why
Speaking as someone who has had both Urshifu forms on my party at the same time and have seen them in resting mode, they both look the same in resting mode. They only take on their type's stance in battle. The same thing happens with the party sprites, which is something at least one person took advantage of in the VGC space (they brought an Urshifu with a rain team where all other mon were Water types, giving the impression of being Rapid Strike, but it was actually a Single Strike).
I cracked up so much when Luke went to get a closer look at Urshifu and the character just bends down and stares at its crotch, then literally choked on my oatmeal when he talked to it and it ZOOMED IN! LMFAOOOOOOO DEAD.
Supposedly the direction the floaty parts of Urshifu's headband visually differentiate which form it is. Rapid strikes they float back and the tips float upward, on single strike the tips face downward. Even knowing that difference, it's pretty subtle
Would have been great if when asked "tell me the names" or "show me the feets", the other told them or show them not in order. It would make this whole idea even more trickier.
If I was extremely nitpicky, I'd say Croagunk is part of a trio. The Team Galaxy admin Trio that level of nitpicky, Mars' ace was Purugly, Jupiter's ace was Skuntank and Saturn's ace was Toxicroak. Such a weird trio of ace and I kinda like it
Ritchie you gotta start trying to make some predictions and/or think ahead of the battle and what's gonna happen next. You always go to what seems the best/safest option at that specific time and a LOT of times it costs you the entire battle.
This is a great concept, I think we need more of these! I don’t know if it was because of you and Rich being hilarious or the fact it’s all the then we fight ideas combined but it was a great one for sure

When you were asked "Can you tell me the Dex numbers of each of the pokemon?" you could have just said "Yes I can" and not given the numbers if you wanted to be sneaky.
Rich didn’t have to tell him the location of each Pokémon in the round with the Galarian slowking. Luke only asked to name each of the Pokémon. Not where they each were.. lol
A unique question that could've been asked might be "what ability would you give the pokemon in front of you (excluding wonder guard, huge power, pure power, and beast boost)... I think in the future if someone asks about 1 Pokémon they get to know the location (e.g. Which Pokémon is shiny?
