    I worked for knight 3 years started off there before i came local. I was out there tulare, ca yard. They are a good company i got awesome miles 2500-3000k miles a week, i was out 2-3 weeks and 3 days home. They had a good safety and productivity monthly bonus. They have terminals laid out all over the country so alot of the time parking isn’t an issue. Free laundry, free gym, free showers, free parking, and a store inside to buy food. You meet the personal in person so i knew all the dms, and safety managers by name. Just be careful tho because they do watch online videos about content including their name.

    The Phoenix terminal is where you are picking up the truck?That means your terminal will be the Phoenix terminal & not Las Vegas.I ran OTR for knight for 13 months & where you get your truck assigned that will be your home terminal,also remember that the ports are slow & when your not hauling containers you will be running OTR since your going to be the new guy on the ports account.

    There’s a reason there’s so many containers in the Phoenix yard & you will be running OTR & it’s the perfect time for you 2 learn about running in the winter 🥶 & chaining up in Colorado,Washington
    Oregon,Idaho etc & remember 1 thing experience is Key 2 success in any biz & don’t be SCARED of running OTR,Real truckers always have 1 year OTR experience & winter ❄️ driving under their belt..

    I worked for Swift. The truck stays running above 60 degrees or below 32 I believe. It has a 5 minute idle shutdown inside that temperature range. There might be a way to override the idle shutdown, I just don’t know about Volvos

Hunt and it’s actually working out great for me

    Never a fan of having the truck on all night then run it by day. That is why you need a tripak it's like a generator on back of cab powers all electric in truck, charges batteries, ac/heater in bunk beds area stays on for 10hrs at a time, saves you diesel and wear on engine extends life. I believe about a gallon of diesel per hour.

    • @augustineramos_

      Not sure from what I hear all on duty activity is paid in California but than again your paying California tax so it probably doesn’t matter.

    • @brandonrobishaw7606
      @brandonrobishaw7606 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Typically a OTR company will pay East coast and West Coast drivers differently.
      East gets higher pay per mile and shorter runs.
      West will get longer runs at fewer cents per mile.
      Dispatch will hang you out on a return run with no down time pay.
      California drivers are a bit different getting paid for down time but they are given more loaded time and if dispatch can help it team drivers.

    Honestly, McD's Fry's were the MAIN reason I ever went to them, sometimes for other things, but they had the BEST Fry's of anyone.
    However, you apparently don't know, they ARE NOT "good" anymore.... Their last Cooking Oil Change made them terrible now. Yes, they have a "tinge" of the good taste, which is why we will still go for the Fry's, but I'm to the point now that I don't even want to go for them anymore, because I CAN TELL the difference. The Oil they switched to right after the Original Tallow Oil, still tasted good, even though not "as" good, but the latest oil change, it's junk, and Seed Oils are massively BAD for you, both as is, and when heating up, Tallow actually wasn't, we were lied to.

    Bro the Volvo is the worst truck in my opinion if you work for Knight-Swift as s company driver because it doesn’t have pass smart. The orher trucks have a feature they call pass smart that allows you to go 67 or 68 mph when you double tap the fuel pedal for about 1 hour per day to make it easier to pass slower moving vehicles. The Volvos don’t have this feature though
