- Join me on a cozy winter narrowboat adventure as I explore the serene UK canals, embracing the off-grid lifestyle on my floating home. From the comfort of my snug narrowboat, I'll share my experiences of living on a boat, showcasing the beauty of boat life in the UK. With the canal as my highway, I'll navigate through the picturesque English countryside, sharing my travel tips and stories of living with less. Whether you're a fan of narrowboats, houseboats, or tiny homes, this travel vlog is for you. So grab a warm cup of tea, sit back, and enjoy the tranquility of winter cruising on the UK's inland waterways.

Residing in the beautiful Texas Hill Country, we have land very very similar to the hills and farmland of England. Alas we have no canals! I accidentally found my first narrowboat program by Heidi's "The Narrowboat Pirate" and now I'm hooked. As I am a woman of a certain age I'm interested in your perspective on living on the canals. I am fascinated by the lifestyle and seeing what adventures develop. And I love dogs and the added dimension they bring to the trips. Best of luck. My dog Teddy and I will follow along.
@DonnaV-x1c thank you for the comment. We are lucky here in the UK to have such beautiful landscapes especially on the canals. Having the freedom to move your house every 2 weeks to a new location is what makes it extra special.
Now I understand why it’s called the slow life :) Appreciate the video. Thanks
@@bulletrogers yes. Cruising at a maximum of 3 miles per hour has a way of making you appreciate your natural surroundings and is good for relaxing the mind and body .
Was amazed to see lock keepers I don't know why i thought you got out and did it yourself! Every days a school day!
@zedjay81 I was lucky. The 2 CRT guys were checking for any debris in the lock. They are not normal ly there. During the summer months on the more popular routes you have "lockies". Watford locks on the Grand Union is a flight of locks and they help, you through. I will attachba link
