Not much between them considering the price difference but the Flight pickups to me sounded a bit thinner and marginally noisier. That said, the Flight still seems very decent for the price. Could this open the doorway to more uke rock bands...?
I think you have summed it up very well Mike. A bit thinner, a bit noisier (particularly with distortion). But for the Flight price, they're prices worth paying if you don't want to pay the Risa price. I'd pay that Risa price for me, but my needs are probably different to many.
Wellsir ... it was really hard for me to tell the difference. I guess the Flight is a bit "thinner" in sound but not that much. I can understand a pro wanting a Risa, but for me the price is a big factor and I am not a pro so I would definitely go with the Flight. I can't see paying over $1000 usd for the Risa.
Is Risa really 2x better, considering the prices in Europe? I wouldn't say so, listening to your video. Did you hear any hums, cracks, faults in Flight that would change my mind?
No, but I suppose it doesn't really work that way. A £1000 ukulele is rarely ten times better than a £100 one. The Risa has a better finish, and the Flight has thinner sounding pickups. I find the Risa lighter to play, easier (which is not to say the Flight is hard, just that the Risa seems so slick). But it is a lot more, yes, for those improvements. The Risa is definitely better, in all but value for money.
What amp are you using? I have a Risa LP Tenor but it sounds way better here than mine does! I'm a competent acoustic uke player but totally new to electric stuff and struggling to find recommendations for amps that work well with the electronic ukuleles. I'm just using a cheap practice amp at the moment to get started while looking for a good one and it sounds terrible 🤦♀️
Hi, I'm using an Isuzi GA-25 acoustic amp, which I stock, with this one. But... there are effects too on some of the samples, which would need a seperate effects pedal unit to achieve, it is quite a complex world!
Price difference is bigger than sound difference. Centurion sounds a bit "sharper, aggressive", Risa "rounder". This is not the best comparasision on TH-cam, this is the only good.
Thanks - very useful demo. I'm seriously considering buying the Risa after Xmas and I'm still leaning that way after this demo.
Thank you. I would go that way too - as long as money wasn't an issue. If it was, I would be perfectly happy with the Flight - but given the choice...
Thank you so much for this video! There are a lot of reviews videos..I find yours very helpful and on point!

On the distorted setting I couldn't hear much difference, but on the other settings the Risa sounded clearer.
I prefer the flight sound! Can tell the Risa is better quality and professional, but the flight's distortion makes it sound more rocky and fun.
Wondering if any reowned brands are producing good quality steel strings for these solid body models.... they seem hard to get by
They use guitar strings, so you still have a world of options!

What kind of amp do you use with this electric ukulele? is it the same as an electric guitar?
Yes. I was using a Roland Cube 20GX, which is an old, inexpensive guitar amp.

Risa sounded better. But perhaps the best sounding demo i have seen for these. Do you have a Risa Tele to demo in this configuration?
I have a Strat on the list to do, but not a Tele at the moment. I will do though, before long!
@@WorldofUkes fine. I think it has the same pickups, so should not be that different.
@@WorldofUkes do you have a Pathfinder review/demo?
@@sup_413 I don't, they all sold before I had a chance.
@@WorldofUkes i am waiting for both to come in at my local shop!
Cool..👍🏽
I actually liked the Flight sounded a little better than the Risa. Not a huge difference, but it's there.
Interesting - I'd say the opposite, but that's the reason for reviews and videos I guess, as if we all liked the same things, it would be dull!
More.

Well, I did my best, but thanks.
Risa twice of price better in sound but the price is too expensive very good vs👍
Yes, I think it's better by 20%, but more expensive by a lot more!
